Audio Out - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone had an issue with using the headphone jack an adapter to use with an aux input on regular stereo? When I plug it in, y phone goes crazy, the pandora icon in task bar flashes and it makes random phone calls.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

Do you have this problem using headphones? If not it's your adapter.....
Aloha from Hawaii!!! \m/ SHAKA!!!

I've never heard anyone with that issue. It could be the adapter, or you could have some screwy software issue. Make a backup, do a full wipe and see what happens.

hi,
have you used the 3.5mm jack at all ?
I had a similar issue, i connected my device to my car through a 3.5mm cassette converter so i can listen to music. If the 3.5mm jack to the phone gets rotated around and unplugged it doesn't play music any more.
This really confused me at first.
Not sure if this is related to your issue.. do sounds come out of the jack if u have hearphones plugged in ?
Stu
i thnk my one has just dued... 50% of calls i cant hear anything and or the phone does not ring etc...

Headphone Jack Stops working

Hey all, I know a lot of people have had problems with the jack doing goofy things, however my problem is a little different. I'm having an issue where i'll be listening to music just fine on my headphones, unplug them, a bit later plug them back in and it no longer plays though the headphones. It will play though the external speaker just fine, but when you plug it in, you head music for about 400ms then it goes silent. Upon rebooting the phone the audio will work again. Sounds almost like a software glitch but not sure how to fix it. The HTC support rep suggested a "hard reset" I really don't want to do that, but it may come to it for testing purposes.
Anyone else run into this problem? I would really like to fix it without wiping the phone.
No headphone problems here my friend. Good luck.
Just a heads up. The evo can sense a mic'd headset inserted or a standard 3.5mm headphone or aux cable. When it senses a standard cable it will run off the headphones and let you do commands or talk trough the built in mic. I had a "headphone" issue that many talk of with diffent things poping up or music not playing. All i had to do was push until I heard a locking click with the headset and with the standard headphones I have. Everything has worked great since then

Headphone jack stays on after disconnected

Ok guys I need some help with this. I plugged my phone to my external jack to listen to my music through my radio, but after an hour of music I unplugged it from my phone and headphone icon on the status bar will not go off. It thinks that I still have it plugged in. I did a battery pull also with no result. I then go to the music to listen to music through speaker but no sound either. It still thinks I'm plugged in. Im also experiencing no ringtone sound when somebody calls me. The only way a caller can hear me is by bluetooth and by speaker phone. I even restored stock 602gb to see if it helps, but no luck either. Please help!! I also noticed when I connect my headphones it goes directly to the stock music app. I even did a factory reset, no go either

Sounds like something is either still in there, or a connector is bent and touching another. Use a flashlight to inspect the jack. If there is no sign of inadvertent contact from damage, try blowing out the jack with the power off. I recommend using an aerosol dust remover(canned air, to some) as it is much less likely to damage your jack than blowing it out yourself.

Any have 3.5m earphones plug issues?

I'm experiencing issues with some earphones using my CX500 the right earphone does not sound. And then I have have tried the stock earphones and phone it works but sometimes the right side is quite and then sometimes perfect?
Anyone else got any issues? Sound like my plug could be bad? Time to contact Samsung?
Edit: Very odd, software glitch. Reboot its fixed itself

Music playback pauses for no reason

I'm having an issue with pretty much every N rom I've tried - when I play music using wired headphones or with an AUX cable hooked up to my car, the music will stop randomly, usually every few minutes. Sometimes I'll get lucky and it won't do it for a while, but regardless, it still happens. I've tried a handful of different apps, AUX cables and headphones, and it always happens. Playing music using Bluetooth or the phone speaker causes no problems. Also, I disabled battery optimization for every app I've tried and still get pauses, and I've cleaned the headphone jack with rolled up tape to make sure there's no dirt or lint in there. I'm out of ideas and couldn't really find anything here on XDA or searching on Google. Please help, and thanks!
have you tried with another headphone? your headphone's cable might be little bit broke, so ur phone detect that the jack is unplugged, and it stopped automatically. (bad english srry, im trying to help)
Thanks for the reply, but I already said I tried different headphones and AUX cables
I can't be the only one experiencing this issue
I am facing the same issue as you do.
Yep, same here. Happened on pretty much every Nougat Rom out there.
I just looked through the settings on my phone and poweramp (Beta, don't know about the stable version) has a setting for this exact problem and it seems to work
