Does that mean a brick?
I was running the terminal emulator, an app from the market for root users, and i was trying to put on the app2sd for it. And when i typed something in the emulator. It suddenly switched off, and when I tried to on it again, as usual the GT I5801 logo comes. Then the Samsung logo comes without any sound (Before When the logo appears, it had a sound) The it doesnt go to the home screen. It just shows the Logo Forever! Damn! Anyone can help?
Thanks!
And is there anything to do with download mode?
press dolume down home and power at the same time, phone turns on keep holding, phone turns off, keep holding, phone turns on, release power key, but the other key, keep pressed, you should be now in the download mode, just reflash your phone
But, What is reflash? And how to do that? I'm new to android. Should I plug it to the USB port? And When I turn on and press volume up and home button, the download mode comes, should I wait until it turns off?
if the download mod appears, let it, then connect your phone with your pc, install the drivers, download odin, and the firmware you want, and flash your phone, guides how to flash can you find in the g3 section, or google can also help, and your phone is not bricked, i had it several times.
Drivers mean Kies? And where do you get the firmware from? And can you just give me the link for the g3 section. I'm glad your helping me! Thanks a lot!
Try to perform recovery of your phone. This is little tricky, so please be patient. I have done this couple of times.
1. Press the volume up + volume down key (Both the volume keys should be pressed)
2. Press the home button
3. Now press the power button
As soon as you see the samsung logo, let go of all buttons. It will take you to the recovery mode.
Sorry i dont remeber the options but as far as i remeber, choose the recovery mode. It will bring your phone back to factory settings
Note: If you perform the above steps with volume down key, it will take you to download mode
@singh thanks for the info but i already got my cell back with 2.2 version!

Hi
I tried the method which is given here (triple3online com / samsung-gt-i5801-froyo-update-without-root/#more-883) and it dint work for me…
After odin detected the phone I clicked on start and it downloaded successfully and it automatically rebooted with orange ‘ icon then stuck on SAMSUNG logo and never came to the home screen…
Odin shows PASS at its top…
Plz tell what should I do to upgrade it to FROYO…??
(I then reflashed it to DDJG6 successfully without any issues.)
TRIED AGAIN with JP9 BUT AGAIN DIDN’T WORK

I too faced the same.problem ...
where I was not able to go to recovery....
and my phone was also not detected in pc...It was fixed with these silly steps...
I did this:
Frst I uninstalled the Samsung drivers...
restarted the pc...
Installed the drifers...
then I used another USB cable and connected to the USB slot behind one of my pc...
then went to download mode and the phone was detected and also successfully flashed stock Rom.....
Hope this works for you too...
I tried to root my grand prime sm-g530h using the oding flashable file from https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/#odin. I tried this version https://download.chainfire.eu/945/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-fortunave3g-fortunave3gxx-smg530h.zip to root my phone. I enabled usb debugging before rooting. Then backed up all my data. Then I went into download mode by pressing "volume down+home+power" and connected my phone to laptop. Odin was already running in administrative mode and it detected my device. I loaded the file using the ap button and pressed the start button.
At this point odin said "Reset" and my phone restarted automatically into the download mode again. and it got stuck there. nothing was changing in odin either, the last log was "Removed".
I searched for solutions online and one of them said to uncheck "auto-reboot" before starting. I did that. and this time odin said "pass". then I unplugged my phone and removed the battery and tried to go into recovery mode using "volume up+home+power" but my device keeps on rebooting itself. and if I just try to switch on my device using the power button it goes into download/odin mode directly.
I searched for solutions again and tried the following: pressed the "volume down+home+power" but when the warning came instead of pressing volume up(continue), I pressed volume down(restart), but nothing happens! it still goes into odin mode directly and is stuck there!
I don't know what to do anymore! Can anyone please help? I don't know how to fix it!
I have the same problem!! Please HELP!!

Hello, download the latest bootloader of the S7Edge, and then put your phone in download mode. With odin, flash the bootloader (BL case) to your phone.

In this guide, I will tell you how to unbrick your SM-J730F, in case it is stuck on the boot logo.
So you managed to screw up your phone, and now it won't boot? Is it stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy J7 - POWERED BY ANDROID" boot logo screen forever? And you can't get to fix it?
This guide is for you.
Note: As always, please follow the steps cautiously so that you don't end up bricking your device even harder. I am not responsible for any damage done to your device. All these guides were tested on my phone and confirmed working.
Requirements:
1. PC
2. USB cable
3. Stock Firmware for the SM-J730F - Download Here (uploaded it to MEGA for you guys since the download speed on other websites are a bit bad);
4. Odin v3.12.7 - Download Here;
Instructions:
1. Download ODIN from the link above to your PC and extract the archive contents to C:\ODIN (create a new folder);
2. Download the stock firmware from the link above and place it in the C:\ODIN folder;
3. Connect the USB cable from your phone to your PC;
4. On your phone, hold down the buttons Volume Down + Power Button to force reboot your phone;
5. When the Samsung logo disappears from the screen, IMMEDIATELY hold down these buttons: Volume Up + Power Button + Home Button until you enter Recovery mode.
6. Once in Recovery Mode, select the option Wipe data/factory reset and press Yes when it asks for confirmation (this is a MANDATORY step);
7. DON'T reboot your phone. WHILE STILL IN RECOVERY MODE, hold down the buttons Volume Down + Power Button + Home Button to enter Download Mode straight from Recovery Mode;
8. Now you should see this screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
9. Press the Volume Up button to enter Download Mode. This screen should pop up:
10. Now, back to your PC. Open ODIN, and make sure that it says Added!! on the left. If it doesn't, re-connect the USB cable. Click on the AP button, select the firmware file that you downloaded, let it check the md5 hash, and after it's done, click on the Start button to begin flashing the new firmware and repairing your phone:
11. You should see the bar on your phone under Downloading begin filling up. This means that your phone is currently being flashed. After this process is done, ODIN should say PASS! at the top left of the window, under its' name and logo.
12. ODIN will reboot your phone automatically. After the reboot, you shouldn't be stuck on the boot logo anymore and your phone will proceed to the usual first time set up that you have to go through every time you do a factory reset.
Thanks for reading! I hope my guide has helped you un-brick your phone. As always, if you have questions or encounter a difficulty while following this guide, just leave a reply and I or other members will try to assist you.
Please do not be immature and have a bad attitude when you reply, I will not help you if you do. This has worked on my SM-J730F, and if something goes wrong, it's your fault. As I already said I am not responsible if you brick your device further. But I will still try to assist you.
I don't recommend that mega site. Download it from sammobile like anytime else and wait aprox. an hour (If you don't have a premium and don't want it)
Thank you. I wasn't know you can go download mode from recovery.
hello,
by holding vol-down-home-power i got a display which is not the download mode
it says :
Factory Mode
Auto Test
Manual Test
Item Test
Test Report
Nonautomatic Report
Debug Test
Clear eMMC
Version
Reboot
what is wrong?
Thank you so much for this guide!
When I woke up this morning, my Samsung J7 2017 (SM-J730F) was plugged in. However, the screen was only showing the white Samsung screen it normally shows when I turn the phone on if it is turned off.
I disconnected the phone from the charger and tried to use the phone. Unfortunately it was stuck on this screen and nothing changed that. Until I used the combination of power button, Vol Down and Home button.
The white screen suddenly disappeared and the phone went all black. It has been black ever since. Nothing changes that.
I tried connecting it back to the charger: nothing. Connect it to the charger of my girlfriend who has the same phone: nothing. Connect it to my laptop: Nothing. Try to hard reboot (power button and Vol Down): Nothing. It seems like my phone it totally dead and I don't know how to check if it really is, and if there's anything I could do to fix it.
Has anyone advice on the things I can do?
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards.

HI, I have a similar problem, j730f stuck on Samsung logo after trying to root it. i has tried rooting by flashing " ROOT-J730F-U4-Android 9 Pie " this using odin, at first it seemed like it worked, odin said reset, as the tutorial indicated, but since then I'm stuck in a boot loop.
I can access the recovery mode but factory reset wont work, ("Failed to clear BCB message, failed to find /misc partition")
I tried flashing stock firmware using odin but it keeps failing:

Press all buttons on your phone at the same time for a while. It will be off.
Download latest firmware for your phone from sammobile. Download Odin and tap AP ( or PDA ) and find your firmware.
Hold Volume down + Menu button + Power button for 3 seconds and u will see a download mode. Press volume up button then your odin's ID.Com box will be blue or yellow ( it changes with odin versions). Then press start and wait for 3 to 5 mins. It will be boot. Good luck.
Note : Make sure u have samsung drivers installed on your pc first.
