I really want to go ahead and install windows phone 7 on my HD2 (512mb) but I unfortunately still require some software on windows mobile 6.5.
With android I've been dual booting a RAM/SD version as my main phone and switching back to windows occasionally to use the software.
Is there some way the I can have windows phone 7 and windows mobile 6.5 both bootable on my phone? Even if it means swapping SD's or something?
If not is there some way I can back u the data from my windows mobile install so I can just test wp7 then go back to how I was?
Thanks
it's interested also for me !
any news for this?
Cotulla's working on a sd version of winmo6.5, but there's no word on when it will be released. Once that is released, we will be able to dualboot or even triboot with wp7 on nand, and winmo6.5 and android on sd card. Until then, you will have to pick from either winmo6.5 or wp7 on nand... no way yet of having both on phone.

I thought it was on the first post of the MAGLDR thread, but it seems to have been removed from there.
It's on Cotulla's twitter (Jan 31st): http://twitter.com/CotullaCode/

nand is the internal memory on your phone. To put it in terms of your computer it's the internal hdd, where as the sd card is an external hdd..
Does that help?

i have a nother question, you have to unlock ur phone, does and once u install android is WM still on my phone, like can i still use it? because the hero rom doesnty send texts when i use it off my SD card and im afraid it wont send texts when i have it on NAND, then ill b stuck if i cant use WM. And finally does NAND make it ALOT fast cause the hero rom is terribly lagging on SD card
To flash Android on the NAND you have to unlock your phone first, if you have a custom ROM you have already unlocked your phone. If you install Android on the NAND, it will completely remove Windows Mobile, the only way to get WinMo back would be to flash a WinMo ROM.
As for a speed difference, there would not be a huge difference if you have a fast SD card (class 6). If you have a slower card you will see a marked difference in speed.
If you are worried about speed you should try a different build, if you like Hero, jamezelle's sensehero build is probably the fastest, but it isn't nearly as fast or stable as plemen's themed donut builds.
I'd suggest you use the tattoo build posted by vilord. It sends texts just fine. I used it for a while and really liked it.

True, but, vilord's build is too large to flash in it's current state so you will have to run it through Haret.

link please =]? and with every build i use it wont send txt messages, i got one of them to actually now that i think about it, it was the Eclair one, but all others wont
The only builds that have sms issues are the hero based builds. And if fact it does send the text it just reports that it doesn't.
Seeing as you're just starting out in nand, start with DZO's android install package here.
It's a great build.

what is it that is not working right in android for you?
GPS works, bluetooth works(on the right builds), sms, calls, etc..
I have settled for WM6.5.x and Vilord's Tattoo on a class 6 4gb micro sdhc. That way I can flash the newest WM and still play with android. I have used a 2gb with Android and it is definitely slower. Even a Kingston class 4 was noticably slower.

I have a smal question... I was wondering what will happen to the SD builds now that NAND is out. Are devs gonna disclaim those of us that like to have WM on they'r phone or like me cannot install NAND?
If u think this is not the place for the question feel free to move this
Hopefully die a quick death. By the way, why can't you install mgldr? Also, this is the wrong forum.

i suspect NAND will work for most 95% of the phones out there
the question is , SD card is old technology but does bring its benefits
backing up, upgrading builds and modifying components were a little easier made from Windows Mobile. Multiple Android boots from different Android Folders as well using Exceller's
well, to me, SD card should perhaps move to the direction of RAM.
and finally NAND only and RAM only builds should conquer.. speed, stability and functionality
Primary Generation : NAND (with some setbacks now)
Secondary Generation : RAM ( with some setbacks now)
Tertiary Generation : SD (with setbacks as well)
they all have their UP and DOWNS, I believe its CHOICE
and if you dont like Android, go with Windows Mobile ! The power to customize is up 2 you
darkstone is working on NAND+RAM, so lets see how that unfolds...

Probably because there are no or very little problems with the NAND builds so nobody has questions about them.
This is an interesting thread. I am using sd builds too. I'd like to have dual boot too because i need winmo from time to time to use mytinytv. Most recent android builds are now moving to nand. Unless magldr has dual boot options, i'd like to stick with sd builds.

The nand build have their own sub forum. XDA app cannot see that yet. Try to browse in a computer and you'll see.

I had this problem. After I did the following , flashing nand worked.
1. Flash with task 29
2. Flash stock win mo rom
3. Flash magldr
4. Flash nand rom of choice.
This process has to be done in that order.
I tried different combinations until I found this one to work repeatedly.
Hopefully you figure it out...
Also did you un check allow usb connections in active sync?
Good luck.

I believe nand is better ,faster and more stable way to have android in our phones but i think that is better to have more than one choises.
personally i do think i NEVER move the build into NAND - as I am still vigorously using the GPS software in the original WM which is too useful to me ... lol
furthermore, backing up all stuff in SD is too easy to me - so I didn't / never think of placing any backup stuff in my android builds... lol
SD RAM will defeat NAND...i guess
I believe that most of the limitation you will incur with NAND have limited chances of been resolved (user space).
I've tested 6 NAND builds, they work fine and they have a lower battery drain compared to SD and SD/RAM release.
Nevertheless most of us want to install apps and unfortunately not all can be moved to SD....so IMHO at the end the most flexible long term solution is SD plus RAM loading (to have the benefits of huge user space and good performance...with a little higher battery consumption)
Well, as much as I love flashing the living crap out of my phones. . . . I quit. . . After I got a perfected WMO and Robot combo running.
My phone runs about 97% perfect. . . Which is just the same if not better then a native Android device.
I currently absolutely want to keep WM on my phone, because I like it but especially because there are a couple of apps for WinMo which I really need. I have bought a HD2 and not an Android phone because I need both systems. Therefore I hope to see that SD Android development goes on, possibly in the RAM direction.

+10. totaly with you and with SD RAM . So why we have bought HD2 ???
DARKSTONE please continu with SD RAM .
I would be very happy to have some sd/ram build updates in the future. Obviously as we are having the nand boom at the moment, noone should expect sd/ram builds in the next couple of days, I guess.
I love having my energy rom under the android one, especially for my Igo8 navigation. And I still have one of those stupid issues with all the builds when the phone stucks on 60Ma on standby for hours, dont know why. Sd gives the freedom of costumization, great for research, I can save any build in a directory and put it aside.
Thanks for all your hard work and keep up the good work.
Nand has been the holy grail of developement - and so the big, big interest...But in going down the nand route you are losing half the functionality of the phone. So until and unless there is a dual boot option I think I'm going to stick with SD
Alright, so I bought a used HD2 for $150 today and gave my fiancee my rooted Galaxy S running Bionix 2.2. Now I have this Windows 6.5 phone and no clue how to get it to run Android.
I have looked across the forums and all it does it make my head begin to smoke, lol. I am completely and utterly lost. I'd like to be able to boot into the multiple OS's, Android (preferably the HyperDroid ROM), Win7, and whatever the main third one is, and get that cool "Resistance is Futile" boot screen.
Right now though, I am reading about MAGLDR and stuff and it's saying I need radio and this and that and I have no clue what its talking about, nor any of the other stuff. I am quite surprised I was even able to root and ROM my Galaxy S, though I used a one click root and the ROM was a simple install.
Please help a daft idiot who is in dire need of some Android, lol.
EDIT:
Read this on the tmobile forum. I know nothing about radios, but I like the sound of the improved reception and battery life.
You will need to go to the XDA Developers website and find the ROM Development section. There are many to choose from. I use the Energy Sense with Cookie Classic and GTX ROM using the Froyo Sense 3.1 build. Also search for the thread on increasing the battery life. Changing the registry line code made a world of difference for me. Now I can easily have my HD2 in standby mode with auto sync and WiFi on for two days on one charge with light use. I am now using the Android 2.2 build as my daily OS. I am currently using radio 2.14.50.04 and previously had 2.12.50.02. Battery life on the newer radio for me is better when the phone is in use, about the same when not in use but the cell reception is much better than before.

Thanks man!
Now, if I use that method to get Android on my phone, will I later be able to have it dual boot with Win7, or triple boot with Win7 and Ubuntu?
It's not possible to 'thriple boot'.
Basically these are the steps you need:
Flash HSPL 2.08 on your HD2.
Flash the newest radio (2.15.50.14).
Flash MAGLDR.
Just look around for the links. They're all in the stickies anyway.
After that you csn flash WP7 to NAND and Android to the SD Card so you can dual-boot both. That's basically it.
Also, look on YouTube, there are handy guides on there.

I read on these very forums that its possible to triple boot, all the way up to quintuple boot. Someone made different splash screens for all the different boot OS's.
But thanks for the help though, I'll at least have Android soon enough.

If as u say "Triple or Quintuple boot" means running either WP7 or WinMo 6.5 exclusively as a base, then running multiple builds of android "SD style" ? Then yeah u could do dat....But u can't have both WP7 & WinMo 6.5 on d same device as they both need exclusive storage in d same memory location....hweva if d above has been made possible? then pls do reply adding d link of such a post as i'm curious as 2 how it was pulled off.

Thank you! Helped for me
No sorry. It's not possible. What's possible is to do is to boot WM and Ubuntu, WM and Android, WM and MeeGo (not yet released), WP7 and Android and possibly Android/WP7 and Ubuntu. Not too sure if you can do the last one. It's possible to have four OS' on the HD2, but not at the same time so it's not really 'triple booting' or 'quadruple booting' as you can only have two running at the same time.
No point in trying to contradict me dude.
Oh and btw that bootscreen you just flash from HSPL. Somebody could make one with an Apple logo, that doesn't mean it can run iOS.
Got it, running bluetopia now, you guys are awesome.
EDIT: NVM, got everything I needed, thanks all.
I have HTC HD2 USA Tmobile in its original state.
I'd like to have dualboot with currect OS and Android (latest is 2.3?) and also win phone 7
Dont know where to start...
What i do understand is that i can try different ROMS for android and so forth, but i have no idea where to start.
Thanks for your help (ALL)!
first you can try an android sd build. cause it has no risk and very easy to flash. no hspl etc. after some time you can pass to a nand android. i don t think you will want winmo after android.

I'm new here too, but as far as I know, there is no real way to boot WinMo, Android and Windows Phone 7. You can only do WP7 and Android or WinMo and Android, or just Android off of NAND af course. I may be wrong, but I don't think there are SD builds of WP7. Also, I agree with mutil, use an SD build (I recommend AmeriCanAndroid).

Hey guys, i'll make this post as breif as possible.
I recently aquired an HTC HD2 which I love. It came pre-installed with windows phone 7 however for the past month i've been running android from the SD card. I've only booted WPH for aabout 10 mins max!
Im just wondering if someone can link me to a guide/ advise me of the best way to install android to the NAND, overwriting WPH7. I/ve read about the HD2 NAND toolkit, could I use this & this alone?
I'd like to option to try WPH7 again in the future but for now, I'd like a nice stable gingerbread rom on it. THe device has MagLDR 1.13 installed on it.
Can someone help me? I;ve previousy owned a ZTE blade which I converted to GEN2 & ran gingerbread/cyanogenMOD quite happily so I'm not 100% noob.
THanks. (sorry if i've asked in the wrong place.

start from #2 because you already have magldr on there.
Also note to get your SD card back to where you want it you have to put it in a card reader on your PC and repartition it to fat32.
