Hey there,
well, I tried to manually edit the eplus apn for base, but it still doesn't work. It won't get connected to the www. Any clue what to do?
Edit:
Danke, klappt!!!
This site sorted my APN issue, before I started using builds with correct values in them...

He asked for a Autoconfig tool for his XDA I running WM2003 at O2 - Germany.
A lot of the German users here are some kind of posers (not all, of course) - they tell what they get working and so on, but no one would give a hint or sth. to some1....
Try installing GPRS (WAP) manually by the Settings you can find on the O2 Homepage. This worked fine for me. GPRS Internet should be the same, but for Reasons (O2 WAP Flatrate) i just installed GPRS Wap. Just fine to browse WWW with flat
Sorry for the German now, but i don't think it would be very interesting for anyone outside Germany how to set up o2 Germany GPRS...

Hello,
I'm programming a C# application which uses the GPRS connection. I need to find a way to figure out which GSM provider is being used at the moment. I just need to know if the PDA is in Germany or outside.
Any idea?
Bye,

there is all sorts of interesting stuff here http://www.opennetcf.org/CategoryView.aspx?category=Home

You can try P/Invoking the RIL API function RIL_GetCurrentOperator. It is defined as follows:
Code:
HRESULT RIL_GetCurrentOpertator(HANDLE hRIL, DWORD dwFormat);
See http://xda-developers.com/RIL for more information.

Hallo Zusammen,
0x80072f78
Zugangspunkt wap.viaginterkom.de
Proxy: 195.182.114.52
Was kann ich noch machen?
i cant help you but i can transalte to english so others might find a solution:

Hi,
I have the problem thats my data connection turned on, I can not send sms. I tested several ROMs and have always the same problem. My question is this a problem of adjustment or may be a problem from the provider?
best regards

I have the Data Connection always on and can send SMS without any problems.
I am using my Manila Sencity ROM.
Ah, a compatriot. I was hoping that it be a bug of the S200. Could I possibly ask you for your SMS / GPRS settings?

Yes, i am using the O2 NetzClub SIM Card, the Settings wore set automatically. The settings for the SMS wore also automatically set. Please, write in English because we are on the English Forum, or add a English translation.
Ah ok I might have guessed, my fault. When we wrote in English its enough. I use the automatic configuration too and your Manila version 1.0 with a Mobilcom T-mobile Card. Any idea what the problem can be?
EDIT: Ah think I have now found the solution. In the SMS settings, there is the option: "SMS via" GPRS, GPRS preferred, GSM and GSM preferred (I don't know its called exactly like this in a english rom). I set it on GSM. Currently it seems that's could been the solution.

O.K. I am glad that you found the solution.
Hi folks!
I need some sort of mentor to get out all of the avaible performance from my smartphone.
I am a student from Germany and I have been waiting for a long time for the offical froyo update distributed per KIES. Update worked fine, but my big problem still exists:
My university has Wlan - no problems to join it with WPA-Personal. But:
There are two ways to get it running properly,
1) setting up a proxy skript
2) building a openvpn-connection
to 1)
I can set up the http-Proxy by hand but it is very uncomfortable, because at home i have to go all the way down through menus to switch the proxy off again in Wlan-Settings.
On top of that the market and all the apps are not working because i can only set up http-proxy, but icq needs socks5
which leads me to 2)
OpenVPN should be the silver bullet- but needs root.
ok, i am quite familiar with flashing, updating etc - but the community was growing as fast as nothing before. There are million ways to root your phone and guides who to get openvpn running. Some solutions only work for 2.1 - so what is the best way how to get openvpn on my galaxy froyo 2.2 ? MAybe anyone can effort some time on ICQ mentoring me ?
(use search-function, let me google it for you - posts plz avoid )
THX
just rooted my 2.2 with ratc (kaspersky thinks its a trojan!)
more info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
or yet simpler task would be downloading ryanza's oclf app or z4root app from the market install it, and root your phone on the fly!
EDIT: two posts in german language, but after that back to english, please scroll down
So,
melde mich dann auch mal wieder.
1) Samsung Galaxy ist gerootet.
Erstes Problem:

Was alles nicht geht:
Skype, Market, Twitter-App, ICQ, Wetter-Apps, etc.
Ok, if eduroam is not available at your school I'm not able to help.
The phone has a builtin vpn client with certs etc, but I have no experience with this client.
And because I'm not able to help anymore, we should get this thread back to english language.
Then please help me. There is Eduroam available at my UNI, but I can't get it to work. Any pointers on what should I do?
Just google edurom and the name of your university, that should do it.
It is basically corporate wpa2 with some specific settings.
ask their wizguys or get an unlimited dataplan?
Use the search button! Openvpn is meantioned in more as one Thread. There is a guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793712
You don't need vpn for eduroam. Just your [email protected] and your password
Here's the deal. I have all the information needed (here it is: http://www.arnes.si/en/helpdesk/edu...nstructions-on-establishing-a-connection.html), but the problem is that I can't get to a point where I would be able to enter these settings. When I'm at my UNI, I check available wireless connections and (try to) connect to Eduroam, but the first thing it asks me is a credential storage password, which I don't have (it's not the one connected with my own user name).
I would think the problem is here:
CA Certificate of your home organization. If you use the client:
eduroam_client, CA certificate is automatically added when installing the client - it's not automatically added
SecureW2, CA certificate is added to the device after the first connection to the Eduroam network - if I understand correctly, SecureW2 is only for computers, not mobile phones
some other clients require to add the CA certificate manually before connecting to the Eduroam network - I have no clue how to do this
EDIT: Ok, I just found out that the credential storage password has nothing to do with WiFi or Eduroam, but it's for the phone. Here's a puzzler, I never set it, so how do I know what it is? LOL!
