Hello,
I'm programming a C# application which uses the GPRS connection. I need to find a way to figure out which GSM provider is being used at the moment. I just need to know if the PDA is in Germany or outside.
Any idea?
Bye,

You can try P/Invoking the RIL API function RIL_GetCurrentOperator. It is defined as follows:
Code:
HRESULT RIL_GetCurrentOpertator(HANDLE hRIL, DWORD dwFormat);
See http://xda-developers.com/RIL for more information.

A lot of the German users here are some kind of posers (not all, of course) - they tell what they get working and so on, but no one would give a hint or sth. to some1....
Try installing GPRS (WAP) manually by the Settings you can find on the O2 Homepage. This worked fine for me. GPRS Internet should be the same, but for Reasons (O2 WAP Flatrate) i just installed GPRS Wap. Just fine to browse WWW with flat
Sorry for the German now, but i don't think it would be very interesting for anyone outside Germany how to set up o2 Germany GPRS...

The rest of the Rom stays english!!!

ZakMcRofl's German Input for WM6 (May 2007)
===========================================
Über dieses Cab / About this Cab
================================
- Softkeyboard (inklusive Hilfe)
- Wörter-Vervollständigung
- Rechtschreibprüfung
- Autokorrektur
- Transcriber (optional)
This Cab was created by me because there is no german WM6-Rom for HTC Trinity devices.
It should work for other WM6 Roms and devices but it was developed for
LVSW_Trinity_WM6_v2.x.x.x (WM6 for Trinity, created by LVSW)
This Cab changes the following to german:
- Softkeyboard (including help)
- Word-Completion
- Spell check
- Auto correction
- Transcriber (optional)
Installation
============
http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=1312
Bei LVSW ist es dabei.
- "German Input for WM6 by ZakMcRofl.cab" aufs Gerät kopieren und ausführen
- Gerät wird automatisch neugestartet
- Unter "Settings -> System -> Regional Settings" auf Germany stellen
- (optional) "German Transcriber by ZakMcRofl.cab" aufs Gerät kopieren und ausführen (braucht etwa 1 MB)
- For Roms that don't include it, sipchange has to be installed
http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=1312
Its included in the LVSW Rom
- Copy "German Input for WM6 by ZakMcRofl.cab" to the device and run it
- Device is reset automatically
- Under "Settings -> System -> Regional Settings" switch to Germany
- (optional) Copy "German Transcriber by ZakMcRofl.cab" to the device and run it (requires about 1 MB)

Apparently there isn't that much interest in localized input.
I realize this has been done before by others but as far as I know nobody did it for the (german) softkeyboard.
If anyone is interested in how to do this for a different language, let me know.
I´m interesteing in traslation in spanish the rom wm6, do you help me?, sorry for my english
This release only changes the keyboard and dictionary, not the entire Rom.
In both cases you'll need certain files from a different spanish WM6 Rom (WM5 might also work). Translating a complete Rom is a ****load of work and unless you have Rom cooking experience I would adwise against it.
@ZakMcRofl
can you make a italian version too
could you make cab the spanish language?
I can look into it but understand that this will only be a translation of the input. Also I don't even know what kind of keyboard spain and italy has but I guess I can find out.
Maybe I'll do one other language as example and release a quick guide for others.
unfortunately it doesn't really work on my universal - the onscreen keyboard is there but it is invisible.
nice
works it too with hermes wm 6?
It should work on Hermes as well, depending on which Rom you use.

Really looking for a tutorial to do a French one maybe we could discuss about it ?
1) Extract CAB
2) Get the required file from a French WM6 (or emulator image)
3) Adjust registry settings I make in the CAB to your image
4) Make your own CAB
You realize this is ONLY for the input methods (transcriber, softkeyboard, dictionary), not the entire Rom.
nice, thx!
Installed ROM on ETEN X500 with english WM6 ROM. Works fine - great effort, Zak!
Best wishes.
Hello,
this is a good beginning. Thank you, but for me I am searching for a german rom, because I want to write my WM5 backup back and therefor I need the same registry-sittings and indexes. Otherwise I must register all my programs twice.
Is it possible in the next future or is there no interest.
Thx

Not working for Dell Axim x51v with WM6 RTM rom
Hi there,
the appl. unfortunately is not working for my Dell X51v. I downloaded and installed sipchange and then the German Input file. I can select the German keyboard, but tapping on the Keyboard button does not activate a "visible" keyboard. But something seems to be there, for if i tap on the "invisible" keyboard space, for instance in "contacts", all contacts with a certain letter are chosen- I guess it must have been the letter I tapped on the certain space of this keyboard, even though I couldn't see a thing. I am not sure how to sort this, but maybe you have an idea. I read something somewhere that I have to replace a certain file in my Windows folder. Do you guys know how to solve this? Help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
Does ist also work with the Black-Touch?
Regards
gersh
Great work, thanks
I've managed it to modify it to my phone skin (black) and thought, maybe someone is happy if I share my work
Notice: Works fine on my MDA Compact 2. I have uninstalled this keyboard first. Then reinstalled it using the cab above without restarting after that. Now copy the zipped .dll into \Windows, overwrite the existing one. Soft-Reset and it works. Don't know if this way must be exactly followed.
ps: sry for my english
To ZakMcRofl, thanks a lot for this.
Hallo Zusammen,
0x80072f78
Zugangspunkt wap.viaginterkom.de
Proxy: 195.182.114.52
Was kann ich noch machen?
i cant help you but i can transalte to english so others might find a solution:

Hello everybody!
I`ve got a problem to get TMC Information with Navigon (v 7.4.2 an 7.4.3) and the GNS TrafficBox FM9BT-C.
The Connection between my Leo and the TMC Receiver is no problem.
But when I start Navigon, I'm getting no data with TMC Information and the special TMC icon/symbol is missing too.
I think that the Problem is perhaps the wrong configuration in the "UserSettings.xml".
So here is my configuration:
<Settings>
<Product>MN</Product>
<Version>7.0</Version>
<GPS>
<Type>1</Type>
<GPSPort>4</GPSPort>
<Baudrate>57600</Baudrate>

Can anybody help and tell me the wrong Configuration? Or is there an other(general) problem with TMC and the Leo (i.e. Hypergps)?
I'll be happy about every hint!
Hi,
at the moment i have no Navi installed on my device, but i was in contact with the GNS Support.
I had an older Version of GNS GPRS Device and i asked me how to connect the device with my HD2!
After sending an Email to the support i received this german Email:
Sehr geehrter Herr ***,
- Bluetooth-Manager starten
- Registerkarte Modus: Bluetooth einschalten

Hi Basti,
First of all, MN 7.4.2 & 7.4.3 are no PDA versions
The FM9BT-C works with MN 7.4.0 or 7.3.x PDA on the HD2. One minor flaw: The Widcomm Bluetooth Stack wants to reconnect the FM9BT after launching MN|7 (see attachment). This is a common glitch with almost every PDA/Smartphone using Widcomm/Broadcom BT Stack 1.9.x
If you insist on using 7.4.2 or 7.4.3 enter
<GPS>
<Type>2</Type>
in your usersettings.xml; explanation:
0 = GPS only, no TMC receiver
1 = combined GPS/TMC receiver
2 = GPS + external TMC
<TMCPort>2</TMCPort> looks O.K. if that is the port that the Widcomm BT stack picked for your FM9BT. If not, choose the proper COM port (I have the FM9BT-C on COM2 on my HD2 too).
Try to change <DRVPrefix>COM</DRVPrefix> to <DRVPrefix>RDS</DRVPrefix> in <TMC> section (not <GPS>!)
If everything fails use a port splitter like Franson GpsGate to remap your COM port. But afaik GpsGate fails on devices with Widcomm BT Stack. Nevertheless you should give it a try.
Please report back if anything helped.

I have the Data Connection always on and can send SMS without any problems.
I am using my Manila Sencity ROM.
Ah, a compatriot. I was hoping that it be a bug of the S200. Could I possibly ask you for your SMS / GPRS settings?

Yes, i am using the O2 NetzClub SIM Card, the Settings wore set automatically. The settings for the SMS wore also automatically set. Please, write in English because we are on the English Forum, or add a English translation.
Ah ok I might have guessed, my fault. When we wrote in English its enough. I use the automatic configuration too and your Manila version 1.0 with a Mobilcom T-mobile Card. Any idea what the problem can be?
EDIT: Ah think I have now found the solution. In the SMS settings, there is the option: "SMS via" GPRS, GPRS preferred, GSM and GSM preferred (I don't know its called exactly like this in a english rom). I set it on GSM. Currently it seems that's could been the solution.
