My Desire Z sometime could not connect to WIFI and mobile network after using USB (no matter charging the battery or sync data) untill I reboot the phone. Is this normal or not?
Does Airplane mode on/off fix it?

hi guys, been having this problem for a while now, tried different radios-roms- tried to search on the net with no luck ... the thing is - if i connect internet via 3g, it disconnects from the network after a while (let say 1h -20mins , random) it shows so there is no networks available, i do have to switch to the flight mode, then to the phone mode and back to flight mode after that the phone starts searching for the network, if i keep 3g off i never get disconnected from the network
any ideas? anyone else is experiencing the same problem ?
Hello. I'm sure that this must have been discussed but I cannot find the answer using search. As is surely normal, I use WiFi within the home and GPRS when there is no WiFi available. If WiFi is connected and I go out for a short while, then when I get back in a WiFi area, the WiFi is still connected. However, if I go away for a long time, and GPRS is used for perhaps a regular weather update, then the WiFi disconnects and has to be manually reconnected upon return to home. This leads to GPRS being used in a WiFi area unnecessarily if you forget to re-connect WiFi. Is there a WiFi connection timeout value or any other setting that can be changed? My old TyTN II did not have this problem. Thanks.
Try this CAB
It disable disconnecting WiFi when phone is in sleep mode and with this phone automaticly connects to WiFi when Leo will be in range.
Thanks Franq_23_pl. I think that the CAB just stops WiFi disconnecting when the device is in sleep mode. That will just drain the battery, surely? My old TyTN used to disable WiFi when in sleep mode, but as soon as you switched it on again, WiFi would be enabled and it would connect if in range. The problem with my HD2/Leo is that if I am away from my WiFi for some considerable time (ie, most of the day), then when I get back home and switch the device on, WiFi is disabled, and I have to manually toggle in on. So my question is..... What are the circumstances that cause WiFi to disable itself, and Is there some way of stopping it happening?
OIC now. I think you having some battery saving app and this app turning off WiFi when iz not used. What apps or registry mods you have installed on Leo?
You have the same behavior after hard reset?
My Leo don't disable WiFi. When i go outside (for ex to work) and back after few hours my Leo connecting to my home wireless network automaticly.
I remember, that i had the same problem like you and it was caused by app, which had duty to save battery.
Hi,
I have the strangest behavior with my wifi, the phone keeps connecting and disconnecting between 4G and WiFi every few seconds when i'm at home. This drains my battery in couple of hours and I can't do anything unless i turn off WiFi. I have smooth transition between 4G and Wifi enabled in settings (i've tried disabling it, all it did was to speed up connect and disconnect between 4G and wifi) Anyone else experiencing this strange behaviour with WiFi and 4g?
I have the same behavior. You need to disable "Smart network switch" under the advanced Wi-Fi settings. I have not found a fix that will allow leaving this feature enabled.
I disabled the "smart network switch" and my phone still refuses to connect to known networks that are well within signal range. It may be staying connected better once connected but I have my wifi sleep with the screen so when I wake it up, the wifi should re-connect. Not working well at all. This 5.0 update sucks, you'd think that since Verizon takes forever to get updates to flagship phones that at least they'd be well tested and stable, NOT!
Hi-
In order to connect to my drone, I need to connect to its wifi network to stream the camera and fly it.
My OnePlus 6T (TMobile version) notices that my wifi has no internet so simultaneously connects to 4G LTE, which then disrupts my connection to my drone.
Is there anyway to turn that switch off? I've looked under wifi preferences and turned off "Smart Wi-Fi Switcher" to no avail.
thanks in advance for your help.
If you don't need the rest of your phone, try turning off mobile network? Or put the phone in airplane mode and then just turn on Wi-Fi? (Too bad phones don't have 'drone mode' lol). Have fun!
Hi,
I got a weird problem and hope for a solution other than resetting the phone.
I have the latest updates on Android Pie. Stock Rom, rooted.
1. I`m in an area where 4G is available and working
2. I activate WiFi and connect to it
3. I turn off the display
4. I turn on the display and I deactivate WiFi
5. The 4G-Symbol is showing but mobile data is not working
until I do the following:
1. I go in options and change to 2G/3G only
2. Mobile Data is now working with 3G
3. I go in options and change to 2G/3G/4G
4. Mobile Data switches to 4G and works again
until i connect to WiFI, turn off display and diconnect WiFi again.
When theres no 4G near, theres no problem, with 3G and WiFi theres never a problem. I tried resetting wifi, mobile data and bluetooth but that changed nothing. Is that a bug with the stock rom? Any suggestions?
