how to prevent switch to LTE while on wifi network? - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

Hi-
In order to connect to my drone, I need to connect to its wifi network to stream the camera and fly it.
My OnePlus 6T (TMobile version) notices that my wifi has no internet so simultaneously connects to 4G LTE, which then disrupts my connection to my drone.
Is there anyway to turn that switch off? I've looked under wifi preferences and turned off "Smart Wi-Fi Switcher" to no avail.
thanks in advance for your help.

If you don't need the rest of your phone, try turning off mobile network? Or put the phone in airplane mode and then just turn on Wi-Fi? (Too bad phones don't have 'drone mode' lol). Have fun!

New Note unable to connect to wifi

Hi, I have enabled Airplane mode and WiFi. However, I still cannot use WiFi at home. In particular, the device keeps scanning for network connection. After I chose my home network, it stayed there for about a second "remembered". Then, when the device started scanning again, my home network connection was disabled. Since I cannot connect to the network for more than a second, I cannot use WiFi yet. Is there something wrong with my new device? Please help.
P.S. For some reason, Mobile Network, Bluetooth Settings and Call are dimmed. I don't use 3G.
You need to turn off airplane mode, having it on blocks all network activity.

Actually not true, I can still connect to wifi when on airplane mode. If your in an airplane and there is wifi than this helps switching the phone to airplane mode than just using the provided wifi.
Anyways about the wifi, looks like it could be your modem settings if you changed them recently, if you didn't change them, forget your network on your phone and re add your network which will refresh your modem's settings. After this it should connect fine

Disable Cell Signal

I upgraded to another phone, but the DX is still receiving cell signal (probably roaming), is there a way to permanently turn off the radio other than using airplane mode?
Also, the Wifi currently have a very poor connectivity with my school's 802.1x network (takes multiple tries to connect/randomly disconnect even with good signal), is there a way to improve/fix this? It worked very well at my home wifi network.

WIFI Issues

I've had my Nexus for about a week now and noticed two strange issues with the WIFI connection.
1. I can connect to WIFI successfully at home but as soon as I go out and it switches to the 2G network and then later go back inside the WIFI doesn't auto connect it will stay on 2G, I have to disable and enable WIFI to connect to my home WIFI, is there a way round this or is it a bug?
2. Whenever I'm out an about and the phone detects a WIFI network even if its not configured to connect to the WIFI network the phone seems to disable 2G Data connection and continually notifies me of a WIFI network being in range and wanting to configure it, is there anyway of disabling this behavior and allowing the 2G Data connection to be active when no configured WIFI network are in range?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jon
Really can't help you much on the settings as I don't quite have my N4 but you should always turn wifi off when you're not using it. You will get much better battery and you wont have problem with #2. Sorry I couldn't really help much.

I have the same issue number 1. I find the battery is getting used quickly and the wifi will not connect. if i disable then enable, it quickly connects to the known wifi signal. I can see a different battery decay slope if I let this problem persist for a few hours, it then reverts to its usual slope once wifi is restarted. This problem usually only occurs once a day on average. I hope someone knows how to solve this issue.

[Q] After Lollipop update my G2 doesn't automatically connect to my wif router

When I check "Settings-->Network" the Wifi section says "Connection Available". However, it won't automatically change to wifi from my 3G service. For example, if I leave home my phone switches to 3G, but when I return home it stays on 3G. I had no problems with this on KitKat.
I've tried rebooting my phone, forgetting my connection, playing around with some of the "Advanced wifi settings", but nothing seems to help.
I'm not absolutely sure, but I think my phone DOES automatically switch to the free wifi hotspots provided by my cell company. Could there be a setting my router that may help?

WiFi won't connect to know Networks when screen is off

As the title suggests, my phone will not connect to known WiFi networks if I do not wake the phone myself.
Image being away from home, having both mobile data and WiFi enabled. The screen is off throughout the whole time and when I reach home it is supposed to connect to my WiFi. Instead, it connects to my WiFi only if I wake the phone. If I leave the phone sleeping (standby) it will stay on mobile data, unless I wake the phone myself.
Is this regular behaviour?
PS. The phone has not problem retaining connection to WiFi networks when sleeping. It just won't make a new connection even to know networks.
There is a setting in wifi settings under advanced where you can change how and when the wifi must be on/off.

If you mean "Keep WiFi on during sleep", I have it enabled already!
Have you played around with power saving settings?
