[Q] Can't remove HSPL - HD2 General

/edit: Got it to work, had to format the SD card from the phone
I've been searching for an answer for this for hours and haven't seen anything here or elsewhere so my apologize if I've missed it (a little bug-eyed now)
I had to replace my HD2 due to the touchscreen no longer working so I'm trying to roll back the phone to its stock status but I cannot for the life of me remove the HSPL. I've followed the instructions and put the RUU_SIGNED.NBH (renamed to LEOIMG.NBH) onto an SD card and started the phone by holding down the volume down button. It boots into the bootloader screen but nothing else from there. Its like it doesn't see the file on the SD card to flash the rom back to the shipped version.
Right now the screen says
PB81120 HX-B3
SPL-2.08 HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x40
Using the RUU_SIGNED.NBH from this file: RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship
What am I missing here?

how did you make it at the end?

HD2 not booting after rom install

Hi all ^^
I'm new here, and I just received my HD2 and wanted to flash it with one of the cool ROMs you have on this forum.
I flashed the HSPL with HSPL2 and everything went smoothly. Then I downloaded one of CleanEX DSE Core Rom (the 6.5 Maniless FRE) to be precise.
I flashed it, all was good, at the end the phone rebooted and i was stuck at the boot screen written "HTC CleanEX UDT DsE Series". I thought maybe it was because I didn't do a hard reset yet. So i did one, everything initialyze and when it's done same thing, the phone reboot and I'm stuck at the same boot screen...
I'm starting to get a bit stressed out because if I can't connect to Activesync I can't even put an original Rom or an other twinked one ><
Does anybody know what I did wrong or why it's not working ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
PS: My phone is a french phone.
radio - go back and reread that roms thread for recommendation, however 2.07.50.x or higher should do it.
boot to bootloader, connect usb, flash radio, phone will now boot
Connect your phone to PC and turn it on while holding volume down, bootloader menu should apear (red, green, blue, white) then you can run Rom flashing tool on your PC
but i recomend flashing newer RADIO because this may be the reason for your current issue.
That was a really quick and effective answer !!
Thanks a lot to both of you !!!! *hugs*
its seriously the radio

I tried to install HSPL but unfotunately it stops & my phone is not working. My HD2 hangs when HTC logo comes. I also try to copy stock ROM in SD card whilst pressing voldown & power keys, tricolour screen appeared & says:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x40
Then the phone hangs.
Could anyone tell me what is ROM flashing tool & what version should I install.
Please help me.

are you flashing the ROM on a different micro sd card? you cant use a 8GB or 16GB. Try a smaller card like a 1GB or 2GB.
also rename the stock ROM to LEOIMG.nbh.
put that ROM file on a smaller card and go into bootloader should come right up. worked for me when i had to re-install stock to return defective unit.

Cant flash any NBH even from SD card

Hi Guys
I've been going through the process to try to upgrade to Win 7 but i've hit a bit of a stumbling block and as I'm not very good at this stuff, thought I would ask for advice!
Ok so, I tried to load MAGLDR 112 but that wouldn't load however, I managed to flash 110 from an SD card. So, next step would be to try to "upgrade" this to 112 in prep for WP7.
I have now tried to flash 112 from SD card AND PC RUU but both just "stop". The SD card shows the "Loading..." and then does nothing whilst the RUU shows "0%" and never progresses.
I figured my next step would be to try a stock ROM both via SD card and RUU however, the stock ROM shows exactly the same error.
Any ideas how I can get back to be able to flash NBH's?
Thanks!
usefull(?) info below-
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x30
MAGLDR v1.10 boots to "Boot menu" but doesn't seem to do much other than allow me to go through the menus - what is MAGLDR?

I hit a similar problem earlier where on the bootloader it kept on saying NO SD CARD. You may try and follow this solution, I suggested earlier. Click here
The first and third step are quite important. Some others have tried to do it quickly and sometimes it has not worked so give them full consideration.
Let us know if it worked.
Cracked it thanks. Turns out I had put a "normal" SPL on and not the HARDSPL... reflashed with HARD and all working.
Thanks

My HTC HD2 doesn't pass the white-green HTC screen anymore. I am able to flash it (when I flashed HSPL it said We hacked it) but still not able to go through the HTC screen. I tried flashing an original WM6 ROM, but the device still hangs at the HTC screen...
Can anyone help me? Is my phone bricked?

Hi,
Your phone is not bricked.
What are you trying to install?
What radio do you have installed?
Flashing an original WM ROM should be done via sd card and it will remove HSPL.
Please give more information.
I installed RUU_Leo_HTC_NLD_1.66.404.1_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship
(that didn't work, if I only install this one I get a black screen after the HTC screen)
The tricolorscreen says:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08 HSP: 8G XE
0X05
CotullaHSP 0X50
I will try to flash the original rom via sd card, but that is where it started.. The last time I flashed it (I had WP7 and wanted to try WM6.x) it stopped working. I flashed it via sd card and the second time I tried (when it already had stopped) it was hanging at 'Loading...'.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I take it from the ROM you tried to install that you are in the Netherlands.
Did you get the serial number from your phone and feed it into HTC support site?
Go to HTC site>support>download>ROM upgrade and choose appropriate ROM upgrade for your phone
Change the .exe to .zip and
Extract with winrar or 7z the RUU_Leo_HTC_****************************_Ship.zip
find the larger *.nbh file and rename it to leoimg.nbh and place this file on an sd card that is 4gb or less
and reboot to bootloader (the one with 4 colors, hold volume down button until you see "SEARCHING")
follow the instructions from there.
If you had WM7 on your phone ,you should reformat your sd card to fat 32 before putting on the leoimg.nbh
Backup your data first.
I flashed the original nbh file (from HTC site with my serial number) via sd card. Now it hangs at a black screen after the HTC screen.
On the HTC screen, there now is this:
R 2.15.50.14
G 14.42.50.11U
D 3.14.04666
But after that, the screen goes black (first black lines, than black screen). The backlight stays on.
The colored screen now says this:
Pb81100 HX-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
What can I do now?

Hi,
I think the problem is the SPL-3.03.
Did you get a choice of original ROMS to download?
Try to get 1.43 and 1.48 roms that come with spl 1.42.0000
I tried flashing 1.48 EU English (RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.48.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship)
It says
00028002
Not allowed
when starting. After this it goes back to tricolor screen

Hi,
ROM code error usually means that official ROM is not for that HD2.
Other than that ,are you using 4GB or less sd card?
Is the phone charged to more than 50%?
I downloaded the original Dutch 1.48 rom
(RUU_Leo_HTC_NLD_1.48.404.2_Radio_Signed_15.28.50.07U_2.05.51.05_2_Ship)
from the HTC website and installed it via SD card.
Now the tricolor screen is:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-1.42.0000
etc.
When I start the phone, I see the HTC logo
A few seconds later this appears:
R 2.05.51.05^^^2
G 15.28.50.07U
D 1.48.71294
then, about a minute later, lines and a black screen.
Is there any hope?

Try task29- it will erase rom in your hd2 ( it needs hspl )
or
You could try android or wp7 just to see if it works ( other than this i dont know what to say - sorry ).
I tried that (Android & WP7 won't work, because I can't get into MAGLDR. I do get it installed but I can't boot into it).
Tomorrow I'll try task 29.
Run Task 29 after flashing HSPL. This will clean out your system, then flash the 1.48 ROM by SD card method again.
Was there not a 1.66 Netherlands ROM version you could have downloaded?
thanks guys
I flashed HSPL and did task 29. After this, when I flashed the original rom, it stopped with an !.
The second time I tried installing the rom, it just installed but it doesn't start. Only lines and black screen.
during flashing procces does your phone gets hot ?
If yes thats hardware problem ( + software )... in this case to make sure try this:
Take out battery, simcard, sdcard and put it in a fridge for 5-10 min ( put phone in a bag to protect from watter), then take your phone and try to flash rom with sdcard method and post results.
The phone doesn't get hot. An update only fails the first time after a Task 29. The second update succeeds, but then it hangs at HTC or black screen.
I have same problem but not can fix it Many Thanks for all information.
Up new ROM via SD Card.

[Q] Help !

Well I've had my HD2 With different android Rom's for about 1 year now I'd say. Recently I've been having a problem where the touchscreen doesn't work at all. Sometimes it works And I can use it Perfectly. I flashed the original Windows 6.5 Rom that I downloaded from the T-mobile website and I wanted to know if that took off HSPL. I want to return it Back Because I have a warranty and I wanted to know if it was ok to return it now. Please Help.
Why don't you just Volumebuttondown and power on and see if HSPL is gone?
I forgot about that. I just did it and it says
PB81120 HX-B3
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
0x50

How do I remove HSPL then ?

You need to flash a stock ROM via SD card. This may help, I don't know, or you could also go to MSkip's stickied thread.
By either installing a TMOUS ROM through the sd (rename to LEOIMG.nbh and put on sd then boot) or by using the HSPL package to remove it (install SPL)
