I have just got a HD2, and used activesync successfully for the last 2 days to sync contacts and load the HTC hotfixes from their web site. Today however, it has just stopped working. The phone connects (but takes a very long time) and starts the sync process, but then the progress bar doesn't move at all for ages or sometimes moves to about half way in 10 minutes but won't get any further.
Before the status bar starts moving and randomly during the sync process I get the message "A problem has occured with services.exe Please tell microsoft about this problem...." The status bar usually starts moving a little after sending this error report. I also get the message "A problem has occured with connmgr.exe...."
Trying to stop activesync freezes the device completely for several minutes but it usually frees eventually although I have had pull the battery a couple of times.
Occasionally when it does start I get the warning message "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device. All changes made since your last successful sync will be lost. Do you wish to continue?" although I have made no changes whatsoever on the PC. I've never come across a message like this from activesync before on any other device.
Has anyone had these problems or have any idea how I can fix them?

Do you have sync problems with 3G or with USB? It usually happens to me with USB.
Try this. At Settings|Wireless, turn off Direct Push. Turn off Data connection. Go to mail. Do a Menu|SendReceive. If it works, then go back to enable those two options. I have no idea why but this often works.
Unpluging the USB often makes it better.

Does anyone got noticeable delay in start of the call when tap contact from the call history list?
I suspect it started after latest (1.31.405.4) ROM installation and happens periodically - you just tap the contact and nothing happens (sometimes at all but sometimes it reacts after minute or so and suddenly starts to call).
There could be at least two causes:
1. No reaction on actual "tap" (hard to explain why it finally calls sometimes but I noticed that Call button could give different reactions comparing to clicks on actual contact)
2. Process that executes call is doing something in the background (freeing up memory? restarting? doing some sync?)
After it "breaks through" it works for some time seamlessly - you just touch the contact and it calls immediately but after some time (even after phone reboot) the glitch is back
NB. I uninstalled almost all apps (including beautiful Timeriffic) I've got from Android Market and prey it's not related to the Exchange Sync and apps around it... Let's see if I still have problem tomorrow.

Same problem
it could be a memory leak or something who knows,
the phone hasnt been out for long and there may be more updates comming.
plus if its a performance problem then when android 2.2 comes out with the JIT compiler it should be faster

The more I observe situations when dialer "hangs" the more I suspect that it happens due to some synchronization. Already several times I noticed such behavior starts when "data" icon indicates some outgoing traffic but nothing comes back (no active incoming arrow). Could it be that it tries to sync contact (with Exchange? Twitter? Facebook? Gmail?) and at the OS level it sees that network is "available" (somebody here already complained about similar issues) so needs to time-out instead of skip that attempt and proceed with requested operation immediately?

Today i notice that when i press the contact and after i pres power button screen goes and comes and phone starts dialing. I think sync cause this. May be latest update they can solve this. I had a hero and hero did n't have problem like that.
Dialer lag present on my device aswell. its not often and oddly happens when no apps are running in background. I think it conflicts with whatever sync services may be syncing at the time one tries to make a call

Same with mine. There is also a lag when I press the "Sync All' immediately after a WiFi connection is established.
Hope they fix this as it is quite annoying. And also make Maps 4 "officially" available to Legend.

Does anyone willing to try? Not sure that I'm ready to spend another half a day restoring all settings and configurations after factory reset (also suspect that chances to succeed are not too high)...

Ridiculus. HTC should just understand what's going on and release an update!
The reset actually works. I have not re-installed all of the applications i had before and did not use the backup file to restore the phone in its previous state so the dissappearence of the lag might be due to some setting being restored to default, but whatever the reason, the legend is now much faster.

Actually the update was still there after the reset - I didn't have to update again.
More observations
Interesting observations:
You try to call - dialer hangs
If you return to home screen you see that widget time is correct while status string on the top shows "outdated" time
If you try to browse some web page it connects and you see the content - I got feeling that this is some kind of "break thorough" since after that -->
Time at the status string gets updated
Almost immediately after that phone starts calling
Reset
Gave up and did factory reset - took couple of hours to restore it to the wanted state. Let's see if that solves the problem or I get issue back after returning configuration to the desired state.
Last observation I did before reset: problem disappears (or minimizes?) if I keep WiFi off - especially if Legend sees some network around but isn't connected. The same applies if it unsuccessfully tries to connect to some faulty router - most probably dialer lag starts after that...

Factory reset helped here. I didn't make lots of tests but after 3 days of using I didn't notice the lag.

I had the same problem and the factory reset helped me,too.
I believe that either the rom update or one of the applications I have installed was causing the problem.
Now I will begin re-installing all the applications I had before and see if the problem will reappear again.

It appears that storing (remembering) wifi networks slows down connecting to any of them when present. When I only have one network remembered connecting to it is almost instant, while as soon as I remember other network setting, connecting to same network is much slower, even if is the only one present.

Any help would be appreciated as been having problems -
Phone has reset itself now it doesn't load tiles or content properly - I've tried reformatting and doing a hard reset but it still loads up with all my previous settings which all seem to be corrupted.
I've even tried hard resetting the phone using the Volume down, camera and power button but every time the phone loads back up with all my previous tiles which are all corrupted and inaccesible - i can still see contacts, messages and access internet but everything else doesn't work - and inevitably the phone crashes every time.
Every time i select a tile it shows the flip animation then loads back to home screen or crashes completely to a black screen.
I seem to have lost all functionality of the phone but there is still some content on it such as contacts, messages and photos (which i am unable to access or upload) so if i was to send the phone off for repair all my personal stuff would be on there.
When trying to connect it to Zune I get the following error message:
"Can't connect to your phone. Disconnect it, restart it, then try connecting again."
I've also tried restoration hard reset (Hold Volume up/down, power and camera) but every time i get the error code: C101002E. (via Zune)
Please could you offer some help as i am really frustrated with this - i really like the phone but this problem has rendered it unfit for purpose and like i said if i have to get it repaired I don't want to lose my personal data, and photos.
Other issues:
The Music and Pictures tiles do not display correctly - sometimes content is there sometimes it is a black screen
All the other tiles for other Apps do not display
Unable to upload to skydrive "Pictures are not uploading - we cant upload pictures at the moment. Try again later"
Lost all Favourites from IE
Lost all games from XBOX lIve tile
Therefore I'm unable to do anything with the phone, any advice?
bring it back and have them give you a new one... these things are covered under warranty for a year... if you've had it for less then a month they'll swap it at the counter right then and there

Samsung Focus purchased in January. Stock, No updates applied.
It started messing up a few weeks ago, randomly rebooting, etc.
This has since stopped, however there are a few problems still remaining.
- Pictures cannot be saved.
- Recent text messages are gone after a power off/power on cycle.
- Deleted text messages come back after a power off/power on cycle.
- Connection error when trying to connect to PC.
I decided to try a hard reset(format/restore factory settings)
Hard Reset Methods:
1) Dialing ##634# displays a blank screen for a few seconds, then goes back to the regular home screen.
2) Using the 3 hardware buttons... The screens showing 'Formatting' and 'Done!' are displayed, but then phone is right back to where it was before. Everything is the same, nothing has changed.
3) Settings->About->'Reset your phone': Same as above. Displays 'Formatting' and 'Done!', but essentially acts like a soft reset.
I'm getting a replacement phone, however, I'd at least like to be able to wipe and restore the phone I'm sending back.
Any ideas?
It's a known issue. Some phones just refuse to get resetted. Keep trying and wish you luck. I have to reset 3 times to format one of my Focus. Crappy Samsung firmware!
I'm having a bunch of problems, most of it seems to be related, but i'm not sure. I was having these problems in android 9, and they persisted after i made the update to 10.
The main problem is that I cannot update or install the apps from Google Play store reliably. The download gets stucked with 'Download pending' or somewhere between 90-99%. My connection is fine, no network problems whatsoever. The same problem happens in many wifi networks and in mobile connection. Sometimes, after rebooting the phone a lot of times, i can install 1 or 2 apps before getting stuck again.
I tried to force stop/wipe data from download manager, google play services, google play store and did not help. In fact, now is buggier than ever, and i got a permanent play store notification with a never ending progress bar saying "Concluindo a configuração" (portuguese for finishing configuration).
Other minor issues:
a lot of times I do not get any messages/notifications until I unlock my phone. My whatsapp web stop working, then I unlock my phone and start to receive 4875389475 messages.
Sometimes google app notify me of some news, i click the notification and nothing happens. HOURS LATER, the news shows up in my screen when i'm doing something else.
The Google Calendar widget does not show the content on the home screen (keeps saying 'loading'), but if I open the app, it works ok (inside the app, not in the widget).
I can't sync time with my carrier (always worked on every phone). But time is correct, nonetheless
Anyone having problems like these? Any solution? I don't know more what to do =(
Try doing any one or all of these depending on if one fixes it over the other:
1. Boot into recovery mode (power + volume up + bixby buttons) and do a factory data reset. This will erase everything on the phone.
2. No dice? Find out your bootloader version and flash the stock firmware you're on with Odin. This will also erase everything on the phone.
3. Still nothing? Well then it's time to claim warranty!
