Latest version of Clockwork for Streak? - Streak 5 General

Will soon be getting my Streak 2.2 and was wondering what is the latest version of Clockwork recovery mod for the Streak and 2.2...
Does this version include the BLN and ULC options?
Anyone can confirm this works on 2.2?
Also which is better, to flash an img in dell recovery or use clockwork?
thanks

+1 to that, Streakmod Recovery has a fully working Nandroid where as Clockworkmod's Nandroid doesn't seem to work with most people's Streaks.

yeah use streakmod recovery rather than clockworkmod. clockwork is buggy and litterally upside down. streakmod brings everything that clockworkmod brings while actually working completely.

I just realized that I am running Ra dream v1.5.2 recovery rom and there are newer versions out.
Now should I upgrade and is it worth it?

Absolutely! The newest version supports sd-ext partitions.
I would even suggest you try out ClockWorkMod's recovery.
Just install Rom Manager from market and flash through that.
Alright =]
So what is the latest image? And is rom manager safe?

Well I flashed to the clock recovery rom and it didn't boot into recovery mode so I then flashed to RA 1.7 and it works fine.
So is there a big difference? Is the clock recovery better than amon RA?

clockwork recovery allows you to use the Rom Manager app to manage your backups, rename backups, download and flash rom updates (such as CM 5.0.8) and it automatically informs you of any new recovery updates (which are VERY frequent). The only problem is that if you use the MyTouch you need to know which one to install. The three recovery options are:
MyTouch 3G/Ion (for 32B and Fender/1.2 devices)
MyTouch 3G/Magic (for 32A)
Dream/G1
If you flash the wrong one you will not have access to recovery.
So I reflashed to the clock recovery rom and I like it better than amon RA. Thanks for all your help.

Have in mind that ClockWorkMod & Rom Manager are under heavy development and get updated frequently. Occasionally after a flash update you might not be able to get into recovery so always test it.
If the first flash fails don't worry just reflash the same recovery (2nd flash works every time)

What RECOVERY is everyone using?

Just Curious. I think I am using "evorecovery". The one that is used to root my phone if that makes sense.
I'm using AA Recovery (Alcoholics Anonymous)
Just kidding
Using the same one as you.
Amon-ra
10char
I'm using Amon Ra.
amon-ra here too..
Clockwork because of Rom-Manager
Amron-ra here too, anyone who used the evo recovery img is running Amron unless they changed it to ClockWork after their initial nand unlock.
clockwork
10 chars
Forget about what ppl are using. Which one is the best? How easy is it to switch?
Amon RA seems to be suggested as the one to use when others fail. so, i just use it.
it is very easy to install and use.
(by the way... press vol + & - to 'go back one screen'...that seems to really muss folks up)
If you want to do a lot of swapping between different roms, I think Clockwork is the way to go. That being said however, there have benefited some compatability issues with Clockwork and some of the roms. You can find more information in the development forum.

I use Amon-ra
But i often switch to Clockwork
The only problem with clockwork is that is has problems doing a complete wipe

The "Evorecovery" is actually the Amon_RA recovery. Toast took Amon_RA's source and modified it a little and made it the default recovery when you do the Part 2 of the root hack.
I use the same recovery, I prefer Amon_RA's recoveries over all others; but that's just me.
ClockworkMod just because it is default in ROM Manager.
I have Amon RA's Recovery because it was suggested for Fresh & DamageControl to get the 'Themes' to install correctly.
I have Amon Ra's recovery as well.

[Q] Clockwork 3.0.0.6

I am trying to get the Clockwork 3.0.0.6 update so that i can flash RoyalGinger, but it doesn't seem to be working. I follow each and every step on true_blue's guide, but it stays on Clockwork 3.0.0.5. Can anyone walk me through how to get clockwork 3.0.0.6 please? I really want to try out the Royal ROMs. I am currently on iced glacier 1.1.6.

it will say that it is 3.0.0.5 in rom manager, but as soon as you boot into recovery it should say 3.0.0.6
Are you looking at the list of recoveries at the bottom of Rom Manager? It will still say 3.0.0.5. Check that option then reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery. Does it say v3.0.0.5 or .6?

ye sir, that is correct
Alright, I'm a noob, but I will try to help. After you installed the zip you opened rom manager, scrolled all the way down to All Clockwork Mod recoveries, and reflashed 3.0.0.5 correct? I actually just flashed this about an hour ago and it worked fine.

try selecting one of the other recoveries and then go back to the 3.0.0.5 and then boot into recovery... idk why it isnt working for you as this is tried and true
or you can try one of the methods in this thread

and you downloaded the new flashable file from the thread right? I had one in my downloads on my pc that I tried to flash today but it didn't work because CWM was updated, so I had to download true's latest. it was just updated two days ago.

[Q] I did a baaad thing with clockwork recovery.

I installed a custom ROM that came with the rom manager app. Being curious, i clicked it. Something happened, and I booted into recovery. Previously I have had Amon Ra recovery, and now I have clockwork. WHAT HAVE I DONE??? Is this bad, or should I just go with this new recovery. Thanks in advance.

All you did was install clock work, personally I prefer AmonRa on G1, since it has the sd partition setting. CWR is newer so you might as well use it, when you get a newer phone I recommend 4EXT recovery.
Thanks for the fast reply. So I should probably just put AmonRa though fastboot?

That will work but both recoveries do the same basic things. No real advantages, unless you need the Amon_Ra specific features; don't forget CWR has some newer features since Amon isn't updated anymore.

[Q] Which recovery to use?

I'm currently running Acer_A500_0.022.00_WW_GEN1 with unlocked bootloader and tweaked kernel... have CWM as recovery...
If I want to flash another official leak (like theAcer_A500_1.031.00_WW_GEN1 that was just released) do I need to use stock recovery? If so, how do I get to stock recovery with CWM installed?
I'm not intending to flash it now... just curious about the proper process.
I appreciate the help!
look for touch recovery by thor2002ro on tegraowners. This is the best recovery for A500 for now

Hmmm.... isn't it the CWM users who have all the issues getting their CWM recovery images corrupted lately when running leaked ICS roms?
RA Recovery. Less things to do when you flash. More options.
Both have touch recovery.

I already have Thor's CWM installed with the ICS leak.. working great thanks to some very smart people! (You just have to delete a file before flashing to preserve CWM)
I've figured out that I need to switch to stock recovery... just was hoping for a key combo or something!

To install the stock recovery you can just dd if=recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 from a root shell where recovery.img is the recovery image extracted from the zip file of a stock leak. Then you can reboot into the stock recovery and flash the latest leak and flash a new bundle with CWM, BL & kernel for that version
