I am trying to get the Clockwork 3.0.0.6 update so that i can flash RoyalGinger, but it doesn't seem to be working. I follow each and every step on true_blue's guide, but it stays on Clockwork 3.0.0.5. Can anyone walk me through how to get clockwork 3.0.0.6 please? I really want to try out the Royal ROMs. I am currently on iced glacier 1.1.6.

it will say that it is 3.0.0.5 in rom manager, but as soon as you boot into recovery it should say 3.0.0.6
Are you looking at the list of recoveries at the bottom of Rom Manager? It will still say 3.0.0.5. Check that option then reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery. Does it say v3.0.0.5 or .6?

Not trying to hijack, but with 3.0.0.6 you can flash back and forth between froyo and ginger right from the recovery screen correct?

ye sir, that is correct
Alright, I'm a noob, but I will try to help. After you installed the zip you opened rom manager, scrolled all the way down to All Clockwork Mod recoveries, and reflashed 3.0.0.5 correct? I actually just flashed this about an hour ago and it worked fine.

try selecting one of the other recoveries and then go back to the 3.0.0.5 and then boot into recovery... idk why it isnt working for you as this is tried and true
or you can try one of the methods in this thread

and you downloaded the new flashable file from the thread right? I had one in my downloads on my pc that I tried to flash today but it didn't work because CWM was updated, so I had to download true's latest. it was just updated two days ago.

Hm,easy to install directly via ROM Manager,
but I did it via Terminal app and only with phone,so
no ABD commands needed
http://www.koushikdutta.com/2010/02/clockwork-recovery-image.html
what is the difference between thes and Amon_RA?
is this faster, or customizable, or just greener? xd
The main reason i use Clockworkmod is becuase you can navigate through folders to flash! No more having to put them on the root of SDCARD!
Example,i have a flashable clockworkmod.zip on the root then another folder called "Roms" that has a flashable AmonRA.zip, as well as folders CMOD ELELINUX VILLAINROM all with roms in!
When i need Amon ra i navigate to Roms/amonra.zip and flash it, then when i want clockworkmod i use amonra and flash clockworkmod from the zip no the root of sd
Wow thats a good function and a good reason i will try it thx for reply
been using for a while now. is most definately the way to go!
Where would I find the amonra.zip as I wouldn't mind giving this a little try but could then easily flash back is required : ) cheers

I did boot into recovery using ROM manager and then it works ok. Booting using the normal reboot menu gave me a freeze as well.
Cheers

Remember to keep clockwork in root and dont edit it without signing else amon-ra wont flash it!

If you install ROM Manager from the market it will install 1.7.0.1 as an option as well as Clockwork
Help......
I just installed Rom Manager from Market and did the "Flash Clockwork recovery"
Now I have a problem - my Hero wont boot into recovery - it just stays at the "White Hero with black background" screen - nothing happens.
I can boot up my ROM. I used to have RA-1.7.0 recovery.
Any suggestions what to do?
Best regards,
Henrik
try reflashing CWM, if that doesn't help flash RA via terminal.
currently using RA-1.7.0 recovery.
would like to try ClockworkMod Recovery Hero v.2.5.0.7.
will i be able to revert back to amon-ra if i don't find myself comfortable with CWM? if yes, then how? sorry for being a noob
i agree it might take some time for me to get used to CWM.
Ok, I flashed a Gingerbread ROM and updated to CWM 3.0.0.5. However I want to recover back to my old stock and I can't. When I go to the "All ClockworkMod Recoveries" in ROM Manager and try to flash back to 2.5.1.3 or 2.5.1.4 it says "An error occurred while flashing your recovery."
My question is can someone point me in the direction to find the 2.5.1.3 and 2.5.1.4 (just in case) images so I can manually flash them?
Thank you.
Try flashing 2.5.1.2?

You can flash 3.0.0.6 which allows you to flash between froyo and gingerbread. It is available in the android development section.

You have to do it through a terminal emulator. Instructions in the link below:

I don't know if I agree with that statement. ROM Manager has a lot of great features and a lot of utility, but flashing one Recovery over another is something it's not doing successfully right now.
ROM Manager has only one GREAT feature; Fixing permissions. Everything else is suspect to creating problems. Flashing recoveries should be done in Hboot, the right way, not short-cutting via some semi-useless apk.

Have faced this problem quite a few times. Usually when ROM manager comes packaged with the rom I just flashed or when I am playing with the apps2sd commands. Reinstalling RM did it for me every time.

Very opinionated statement based on hear say. Totally disagree.
Reinstalling rm multiple times didn't help me either.I guess gonna have to use Amon RA from here on now on. I used rom manager for all my flashing didn't have single problem until I flashed Amon RA

Of course not. RM revolves around CWM. Which is inferior to AR, btw....

ROM Manager has issues flashing one recovery over another. Hence the need to use a terminal emulator as the instructions I linked explain.

Go to

to download the PC36IMG file for clockworkmod. Change the file name to PC36IMG and put on the root of your SDcard. Boot into the bootloader and accept the update. See if that works for you.

That's kind've odd, because it always restores mine 100%
But then, I have TB and keep current backups of every app w/ Data so I can restore them at will.

Glad that I could help you restore your clockwork, although I prefer using Amon Ra myself. I came across more issues using clockwork, especially when using Rom Manager.

Just got a new Vibrant, and I'm having difficulty getting to clockwork recovery. This is my 3rd Vibrant, my previous 2 were rooted also. I've never had any trouble getting to clockwork recovery, but this phone has been a real pita.
In the past I would just hold the power button and select recovery from the options. Or I would go to ROm Manager and select it there. Now with this new phone, neither of those options work. Any other way to get to clockwork recovery?
I think you have to hold both volume buttons and power until the Vibrant logo dissapears, then it should enter to recovery mode...
That's how it works for me.
If you get Rom Manager, it has an option to boot into recovery mode.

^ are you trying to flash a rom?
check the noob guide, I put a second update.zip in there that is CWR... you will need to have a rom on your sd to flash if you want to root/flash though. It does not root your phone like the other update.zip (JFD).

Wow, that actually worked, lol.
What changed that I couldn't do it thru the power button or ROM Manager like I have been doing for the past year?
I can't say with certainty. I have tried several times to tell Koush there is a problem, but he seems to think its me.
No Clockwork recovery after ODIN back to stock
Samsung Vibrant (Galaxy s t-mobile)
rooted, ran a version of Trigger for awhile. Tried a MIUI rom yesterday. it barely worked for me. Had to ODIN back to stock. (Thanks XDA gang for helping me figure that one out). Anyway, back to stock. Re-rooted but cannot get clockwork recovery to flash. I try using ROM manager but when I go into recovery it is stock samsung recovery.
FYI, I also tried the second update.zip that is suppose to flash CWR option from NOOB GUIDE.. No luck
Help appreciated, I am a noob but I did make it this far w/o asking for help.
thanks in advance.
To do it from stock you have to reinstall packages 2 times in a row then it will go cwr and you can flash from there.
Seems like. everyone's forgetting this step
I installed a custom ROM that came with the rom manager app. Being curious, i clicked it. Something happened, and I booted into recovery. Previously I have had Amon Ra recovery, and now I have clockwork. WHAT HAVE I DONE??? Is this bad, or should I just go with this new recovery. Thanks in advance.

All you did was install clock work, personally I prefer AmonRa on G1, since it has the sd partition setting. CWR is newer so you might as well use it, when you get a newer phone I recommend 4EXT recovery.
Thanks for the fast reply. So I should probably just put AmonRa though fastboot?

That will work but both recoveries do the same basic things. No real advantages, unless you need the Amon_Ra specific features; don't forget CWR has some newer features since Amon isn't updated anymore.
