i enabled tethering, but now that i have accessed the diagnosis tile in WP7 will it not accept WP7 updates from MS/Zune in the future? what sort of problems have i caused by allowing it to tether?

I haven't heard of this, though, they're haven't been any updates released yet to test it. Be sure you switch the mode back to "Zune Sync" to be able to connect to the Zune software.

Hi,
is there a possiblity that when i attach my topaz to my computer, that it auto updates the weather for the week? now i always have to manually click update, that suxx :-( generally i dont use internet on the phone when im not in wlan or something like that
help would be greatly aprreciated :-D
There is no way to have weather only update automatically on AS and not GPRS.
hmm, im using no data on roaming but if i plug into the pc, it realizes it can establish a "for free internet connection" and updates it when i click it, where it otherwise says no connection could be established. so shouldnt it somehow work then, is there something like a programm? when u say it sounds like its hardware related impossible, or is there just no programm out yet?

No Data would be the only program I am aware of that may be able to do this.
Just not sure how to set weather to auto in certain connection modes vs not auto in others.
Just for background information, I'm using Cyanogen 5.0.7-5 with Autolock.
I cant find anything about this but. Is possible to disable debugging mode and tethering when the phone locks? It would also have to know when debugging mode and/or tethering are being used so it wont shut the services down when in use, for the next time it locks of course. To be able to do this would be more secure, in-case someone gets a hold of you'r phone. The theif then wouldn't be able to get into your phone with adb to steal data or be able use the internet tethering.
Of course I can just manually turn off these services, but that gets annoying. Plus any human interaction means there is going to be some error, like leaving on either debugging or tethering.
Maybe im lucky and there is already a app that does this?
I noticed there was a thread for this sort of issue in the HD2 forum but this is a stock DHD running HTC Sense.
When the wireless is on I cannot connect to the internet at all through applications such as facebook or twitter or even the XDA app. I recieve notifications from those apps, and I recieve email.
However if i try to browse to anything within these apps I recieve a "server is not responding" error, or variation therof.
This happens on ANY wireless network as I have been running on my home wireless and a corporate wireless (which I control so is not just a corporate blocker, or firewall issue).
I am reasonably new to android, but I am also a network technician so I know what I am doing RE network.

Getting arsey isn't going to help you get a decent response.
I am also a network tech - but I have not experienced any issues with wireless on my DHD.
You say stock - so I assume you have not rooted/flashed anything other than possibly the OTA update?
All I can suggest is manually forgetting the network and reconnecting. If you have any security on your WLAN, take it off temporarily and try again.
Failing that, it's time for a full factory reset to see if that gets you anywhere. If that fails, your device is probably faulty and you should have it replace.
I assume you have no issues over 3G/HSDPA?
It just seemed pointless having someone say they don't have the problem.
Like I say this occurs on any network I have trialled it on, I will disable security when i get home.
Data over Network is fine, I have not rooted or flashed a ROM this is OTB phone with 1.72 installed.
One feature I absolutely must have in a phone is tethering capability. Up until Nodo I've been happy with the work around via the EM app, however with the Mango update it no longer works. When the phone is plugged into my laptop with composite mode enabled, it doesn't charge or do anything. Is there any way to restore tethering capability without reverting to NoDo? I suspect that the EM app was updated which has disabled this functionality.
Edit: Uninstalled in reinstalled EM, which was previously v0.25 and now v1.08/1.10. Composite mode still doesn't work.
Ugh, I was hoping it was just me. Discovered this myself yesterday when I most needed to tether
Can anyone else on mango confirm whether their tethering works or not?
nothing here, no tethering with the mango version 7712 and em version 1.10
and the phone did not charge in composite mode and will not recognized by windows -.-
I am using stock rom without any modifications. After installing the April update I got a notification saying app updates are ready, Connect to wi-fi to continue. Even after connecting to wi-fi it is still present. This notification cannot swiped away or disabled. Any opinion to remove it?
Make WiFi unmetered and check
Go to WiFi setting
Click on connected WiFi
Click on advanced
Then click on metered and click on treat as unmetered.
Not working brother...
Did you find the solution? I have the same issue.
