I am using stock rom without any modifications. After installing the April update I got a notification saying app updates are ready, Connect to wi-fi to continue. Even after connecting to wi-fi it is still present. This notification cannot swiped away or disabled. Any opinion to remove it?
Make WiFi unmetered and check
Go to WiFi setting
Click on connected WiFi
Click on advanced
Then click on metered and click on treat as unmetered.
Not working brother...
Did you find the solution? I have the same issue.

I have a strange issue.
When I try to download the OTA update, my phone will turn OFF mobile internet, even though I have an option to download over this with the usual warnings etc.
I will not be able to go online with the phone again until I have cancelled the OTA download and reset my Mobile network in settings.
Do others have this issue? I am sure I can probably just get it over Wifi when I come home, but I am more concerned with the behavior. I would hate to not be able to download other stuff because of this.
All suggestions are welcome.
Kingkeld.
I get the same problem. Only workaround I've found is to create a new mobile apn instead of using the auto settings, this seems to allow downloading over mobile network.
I'm lazy so this time I waited until I got to a wifi hotspot before updating.
It is a strange problem though.

Yeah, I did it over wifi too. Not gonna update software many enough times to go through all that.
I noticed that i don't recieve notifications of app updates until i connect the phone to the pc (zune). does anyone have the same problem? do you recieve app updates notification without connecting the phone to the pc (even wirelessly)?
I have 7392 KC1 rom.

Definitely without being connected to my laptop (it very rarely is)
Hi!
I've update my I9505 to Stock 4.3, with root. I've a problem. I use semi-protected WiFI (like at University) that works as follows : the network is technically open to everyone, free, but for navigate\download\anything, you need to open your browser and enter your credentials.
Android 4.2.2 on my I9505 connected automatically to this network, so I opened a browser and put my credentials.
Since I upgraded to 4.3, my phone connects to the network, then disconnects after a few seconds saying that you must authenticate yourself, then I have to enter settings (making it pointless to activate the wifi with the toggle in the notification bar), i've to reconnect to the network manually, wait about 10 \ 15 seconds, then I can open the stock browser and connect from there (I have to connect when it says so). This even though I do not use the toggle, when I activate the wifi in the settings, it connects, disconnects, and I have to reconnect again.
Now, every time I connect I lose a minute when in fact it took a few seconds before, there is no way to return to the previous behavior? Even with root solution. To read an e-mail I have to wait a minute for the connection...
thanks
Edit: sorry, maybe I had to put this thread on Q&A section, but now I can't move...

Yeah I hate it, the same thing happens on the London Underground wifi. It used to just connect then have the notification telling you you had to log in, which you could then click on. What makes it extra doubly annoying, is that the Underground wifi actually does work for everything apart from HTTP traffic before signing in, so you could just not sign in the whole journey and still get email/whatsapp, but not webpages or facebook etc. Now that it disconnects you I don't get anything till I manually connect it.

To get back to the old behaviour go into Settings->Connections->Wifi - > MENU button ->Advanced and disable "auto network switch"
I found I had to do this to get such networks to work ok, otherwise the wifi network was deactivated

ya that was the first thing I checked, it was already off.
I am also facing this problem. Till now no solution. The "Auto Network Switch" seems to be valid for Mobile Data only...
Hoping someone can help me
My S7 Edge WiFI connection is playing up. My phone is fine on data network but only when connected on WiFi (Have tried other networks too) it has some serious problems like,
- Whatsapp notifications not received unless I switch to data connection or open the app
- Trouble loading internet applications, they just hang randomly but if I switch to data then they load
I first noticed this when I switched over to SuperManROM, however I have since reflashed the previous ROM I was using and still have the same issues. I've tried custom kernels and stock kernels and no difference.
Is it simply a faulty WiFI chip in the S7 Edge or coudl it be something software related? An important point to mention is that for the SuperManROM I had to update the bootloader and Modem, but I did downgrade them again to see if there was any change
Please help
Having the same issues. Tried multiple Wifi networks, same issue. Shows I'm connected to it, but no throughput. Tested the same networks on my laptop with no issues.
I'm using SuperSU.
This happens to me too, but only when I enable power saving mode, could that be your issue?

Well I thought it fixed it, but it doesn't look like it did. Rebooting the phone to see if that helps
Update: even after a reboot no luck.
On cell data no issues. As soon as I connect to Wifi, I lose it.
Update 2: Had a system update available. Tried to install it, and after the phone rebooted it told me the update failed, but the Wifi works okay for the moment. Honestly no clue.
You guys got any VPN profiles installed or anything?
Settings - More Connection Settings -> VPN

Any pro here? i have a problem a software problem
So Bought asus zenfone max pro m1 for my brother on 13th october , Whenever I am trying to update or download some big apps like DLS 2018 . It starts to download but shows waiting for wifi, but I only use wifi nothing else. Data is also off. Any solution to this?
Tried wiping cache,Reset,Safe boot .
Not only happening in play store,Some inbuilt apps like facebook, insta etc ,whenever I am trying to update it it shows that Install using data,it may charge you some fee. But I have wifi connected always not data and Data is off.
You need to go into developers settings and disable "keep mobile network (always on) running for seamless connevtivity" option in those settings. I think your WiFi doesn't give reliable connectivity, so phone goes to mobile network, which is off, so downloads pause.
Goto settings in playstore
Then select "over any network" under the app downlod preference tab...
build 327 has some issue with wifi so may be possible that due to it will not connecting to server try to update 331 using mobile internet. or flashing unmodified update file through stock recovery will definitely solve your problem.
