Ok I must be the only one having this issue. - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

ok this is happening with every version of android i try when i boot it goes in to sleep of death like with in 2-3 min of having the screen locked. I can be playing music doing what ever in the back round and then when i try to unlock it its in the sod. some times it works some times it does not idk whats going on its like roulette when trying to get android to run stably. But if i do hit the buttons right and the stars align and it does stay stable it will run for 2-3 days no problems. PLZ HALP

Sounds like you may have the wrong radio flashed.
I'd flash 2.12.5 or 2.15.5 and see how it does.

Thank you sir

What block size does your SD have?

yeah first time flashing radio is some scary ****. Here you go.
1) Download customRUU from HERE
2) Here is the 2.12.50 radio, works on EU or US HD2
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9GU2FF3X
3) Here is the 2.15.50 radio, works on EU or US HD2
http://www.multiupload.com/QP0IWGY42F
All you need to do is extract the customRUU and have the radio NBH file in the same folder as the customRUU, connect phone via activesync and run the RUU, follow the directions and flash like you'd flash a ROM.
either should work fine, you may notice slight differences in speed/battery.
the 2.12.50 seems to work better on Desire HD builds, the 2.15.50 seems to work better on all other Android builds (for me at least)
edit: Before switching to these later radios, I had BSOD a couple times a day. Since flashing any of the radios AFTER 2.10.5, I have never had a BSOD.

Every flashed ROM freezes my phone...

I'm not a complete numpty at this as have for years been flashing my HTC devices.
However with my HD2, everytime I flash my device, I cannot make a call. It connects but there's no-one one can hear me. When I end the call the whole screen freezes and I have to take the battery out and turn on again.
If I flash back to the original LEO Rom the problem goes away.
Wierd. Any ideas please?
Are you doing a hard-reset after flashing? This means holding the volume up key and the power button at the same time until you get the message asking for confirming of a hard reset.
No - I didnt.
Doing that now. Hope the answers that easy!
I had similar problems and turned out this was it. I was doing a soft-reset instead of the required hard-reset.
Didnt work. Still the same...
Has the radio got anything to do with this?
If it helps, I did HSPL successfully and installed (independantly) radio 2.09.51.03 from HTC (not TMOUS - not that I know what that means )

Yes,
In a lot of cases the Radio you use is very important. A lot of custom roms in particular require specific radios in order to allow for the 575mb ram hack. If the correct radio is not present it usually results in the phone hanging on the white HTC screen, not starting, constantly rebooting etc... Whichever rom you're using check back in that thread to see if it requires a specific radio, if it does then flash it by restarting the phone while holding the volume button in the down position (the bottom of the button) to get it into bootloader then connect the USB cable and link the phone with your PC and put the correct radio on from there.

Would you mind suggesting a ROM with the specific Radio you know will work. I can then rule out my 'interpretation' error! Would appreciate it.

[Q] Android without a new Radio ROM?

Hi,
I wonder if there is a way to use Android on the HD2 without the special ROM version it needs. During a reboot my device shows:
R 2.07.51.22~2
G 15.32.50.07U
D 1.72.86526
A reset with the volume down key being pressed shows "SPL 1.66.0000".
Thank you
Hi,
that´s a fine question. My device shows the same.
Can annybody tell us something about this topic?
Thanks
You can try andriod without any rom changes, just download it, extract to SD card & run (per instructions). It should work, in general, but you'll most likely get the common issues, like "robot voice".
Try some builds & see how they work for you.
Today I tried out "HyperDroidV1.2" but i get one of the known problems!
I don´t want to change the radiorom because of my warranty.
Every thread I looked up say, that you lost the warrenty if you try HSPL and a other RadioRom.
I'm afraid to make my phone unusable.
Thanks for your answer!
Without the right Radio ROM, Android will stop booting at the "init screen" (or "init panel"?) line and the display will fade to black.

Be careful!!
I tried the FroyoSense V2 on my stock HD2, and my WM locked up totally. No 3'rd part progs would run, could not install anything. The phone was more or less useless. So backup your phone before even trying to run Android.
well you need at least 2.08 radio. i have exact same stock rom, but you need to hspl and upgrade your radio.
Why are you hesitant to flash a new radio? It is super simple to do and it is reversible. If I were you I'd go to radio 2.12. You can also flash a custom WM Rom with built in android boot manager.
My understanding is that Andriod only works with the R 2.**.50.** radio. I think these are the US radios. Any .51 radio are for EUR/AUS and will not work with Android.
I have a Telstra HD2 with 2.09.51.03 and have to flash 2.10.50.08 inorder to work with Android.
I believe unless you have a TMobile HD2, it is quite safe to use any radio rom and the flashing process is very straight forward indeed.

[Q] White Screen of Death [HELP]

I've been searching for over 20hours around the internet for any solution to the so dreadful White Screen of Death in HD2.
This is due to a Radio Rom incopatible with the device. May be called Radio Brick! Lol
Well, it's truly desperating, as no method tried works!
The phone as soon as it's turned on just shows a white screen, no letters, no nothing.
Happened when I - dumbly - flashed a incompatible radio rom...
It has happened to a lot of other good people, but no solutions yet arrived to the internet!!!
In my case, I have hspl 2.08, and can perfectly access to bootloader, but flashing anything through SD does NOT work.
WHAT I'VE TRIED:
-flashing stock rom from HTC site, but when it comes to the radio part... UPDATE FAILED!
-tried a method here in XDA that solved a case like this but nothing... when it comes to flashing the radio, it always fails
-tried downgrading HSPL to SPL or to another version of HSPL.. curiously, the process says it was sucessfull but it changes nothing.. when i go to bootloader again the version is the same, no matter what kind of version I select...weird!
-nothing flashed through RUU works because comunication fails after 5min at 0%
-task 29 - does nothing
-changing rom/radios - always gives an error in radio update
I'm really, really, REALLY desperate, and I believe i'm not the only one in this situation!
Does someone have a brilliant idea on this?
I got it working again a couple of times but then it starts freezing after 10 hours and then i get again the whitescreen..
Now its stuck at bootloader i can't get in magldrboatloader does some1 known how i get into magldr because than i can flash another rom because in boatloader i can't flash
Hello,
I also have same problem I also cannot find a solution, Hope somebody can help us.
try j-tagging your devices !!
also it may be a hardware issue !!
good luck !!
Are you sure flashing through SD isn't working? Format the SD card new as FAT not as FAT32. And try to rename the the nbh file with into LEOIMG.NBH . Flash through a SD not a SDHC. Try this things, if they aren't working maybe j-tagging fix it.

but i think j tagging is the best option for this problem !! !!
you can go to the original htc store if you have not flashed hspl !!

if the bootloader screen (the three color screen) show 1.42.0000 spl then u can show it to the official htc stores !!
else
contact a local repair shop and try to jtag !!
may help !!

The best thing you can do is update the kernel version. I haven't had a WSOD for more than half of year.
The only kernel I've had this problem with was a rafpigna kernel on a sense rom. It was a build made in the first trimester of this year.
SPL-2.08. HSPL
I can flash it back to the normal rom from windows mobile. But i want a android version maybe some1 know a good rom and radio thats stays good?

Radio 2.12.50.02.2
ROM Redux2
Kernel Tytung (Redux2 have Tytung 12.4 by default)
how about hardware reset with pressing 3 keys at the same time?
Let me explain whats happing me all the time:
First my phone freezed up all the time and after a couple of weeks I got the [wsod] I can boot into bootloader (3 color screen) there I can flash it back to the original stock (WiMo6.5)
But I want android for my whatsapp and I like android. So I put maglder 1.13 on my phone. Then I tried android NAND flashing this worked but afther 10 hours my phone is off and I got the [wsod] again. I flashed my radio first to 2.15 but didnt help I tried this 2 times.
Yesterday I flashed my hd2 I followed a guide for android sd flashing I put the radio 2.12 on my phone and a old rom. I flashed it with haregt.exe it worked for 10 hours again then boom [wsod]
Im realy desperate, have some1 fixed this problem by himself already?
Did you try to run winmo for a few days? If you have problems even with stock OS most probably is hardware issue. If everything is OK running winmo then try fresh install (task29, radio, magldr, predefined recovery,ROM) of this ROM:

[Q] Not booting after MAGLDR flash

Hey, my sister got a HD2 off ebay, and asked me to flash it to android, so i got to the point of installing MAGLDR, and after it successfully flashes, it doesn't boot into it, it just hangs on the HTC boot logo. I used to have a HD2, but it came pre-flashed with android.
I have flashed it with HardSPL too, before you ask.
how long did you wait? sometimes it takes 10+minutes before it boots.
did you try an SD version? it also boots via Magldr.
What steps did you take?
Did you task29 before flashing magldr?
My advice get the hd2 nand toolkit and Task29 before Flashing magldr
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Symptom - Flashed magldr folowed by hanging at splashscreen and not entering magldr menu.
Cause - nearly always caused by forgetting that magldr WILL ONLY start when spl =2.08.hspl -AND- radio is tmous compatible (meaning 2.07.50 or higher, where the .50 is not. 51,,, 2.08.50 will work 2.08.51 wont)
Go flash radio 2.15.50 and whilst you are in bootloader check what the spl line says.
I think i forgot the radio flash, will try it tomorrow.
You have to be careful with the Radio flashing. It is a good way of bricking your phone. I have had the same radio on my HD2 since I got it and never needed to change it. I have ICS running on it now and I am still on the same radio. You may have used the wrong version of HSPL when you flashed that portion. I would make it stock and start from scratch...follow this guide to make it stock and start from the begining.

You only need to worry about flashing an incompatible radio with TMOUS phones, and as far as I know you shouldn't ever need to change the radio of those for Android anyway, so everything should be fine.

I know...I know I'm about to get a beat-down for not reading the forums properly on xda but, there's soo much information that I don't know where to start! It will be much appreciated if someone can help:
I got a HTC HD2 on T-Mobile (UK) - I have the one that reads 448mb of RAM
It has the latest official ROM since it was downloaded from the HTC site (site link no longer available)
The radio version is 2.15.50.14
I have also installed HSPL (it reads SPL-3.03.HSPL)
Tried to install MAGLDR via the HD2 Android NAND Toolkit
Now my phone wont bootup....just stuck at the loading screen (the pink circle arrow)
What do I do? :-s
You need hspl 2.08 to do install magldr!
clk works with 3.03.

If you know you're going to get flamed for not reading properly, surely the logical thing to do would be to go back and start reading properly? As shanman said, MAGLDR requires HSPL2.08 which you would have realised if you read any one of the numerous guides available (e.g. the one in my sig).

Hello again,
Just wondering if you flashed the correct stock rom check out this post to make sure...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283
It must be the correct one for your device otherwise there could be a radio problem!!
You do have HSDPL 2.08 on your HD2 so that is a plus. Please post your Carrier's name and the region the HD2 is from. I can use this info to make sure you have the correct stock ROM for your device and see if it might be a older version Win Mo ROM for your device as I think you have what is referred to as a stuck radio. If I remember right some members that have had this was able to get a older version of Win Mo to flash and then they were good to go again. Maybe Samsamuel will come and give some of his enlightened advice as he probably good guide you more than I could.

As I posted in my first post, it appears you have a stuck radio problem. The only way you will fix it is to find a stock ROM for device that has a earlier version radio. For some reason only earlier radio versions have been able to fix this problem, but it must be in a stock RUU. Just flashing the radio will not work. I am truly sorry I can not offer any more help, but with out the information I asked you for in my second post in this thread I can not help you find a RUU that might would work.

Or if you have EU version;

Flash magldr and it should work, if it works and it still doesnt let you flash a rom then boot an sd rom from magldr.
Has this not been solved? I see many suggestions but no reply lately from OP.
If it is a radio problem, you can always flash a radio without changing your ROM.
I am curious as to why this started in the first place. Where you using your phone and one day it stopped?
Did you flash the android ROM or did you buy it that way?
Which android ROM was it?

Has this not been solved? I see many suggestions but no reply lately from OP.
If it is a radio problem, you can always flash a radio without changing your ROM.
I am curious as to why this started in the first place. Where you using your phone and one day it stopped?
Did you flash the android ROM or did you buy it that way?

If the OP or anyone else for that matter has what is known as a stuck radio. Then just flashing the radio will not work, it will fail every time. I do not know what causes the issue on HD2's but I do know it does exist. I also do not know why flashing older ROMs via RUU works to fix the issue sometimes either, but again I do know it does on occasion work to fix the device. When you have a stuck radio it does as the OP says it will fail when trying to flash the radio. It also for some reason prevents you from flashing anything to the system partition of the device. Now I know people will say just flash a custom Win Mo ROM as they do not have radios with them or just flash MAGLDR or clk. But again it will not let you flash anything to the system partition so this is null and void as well. Being able to fix this is just finding the right combonation of older SPL version and older radio version in the same RUU. I have never seen a stuck radio be fixed by flashing from SD card.

Ok, I see. I was not aware of this 'stuck radio' issue. This is the first time I hvae heard of it. I have had the white screen of death before. Mine was caused by a flashable zip that I made which I had misplaced the proper files. I adb'd those files back to the proper location and all was well. That is why I was asking if it happened out of nowhere or after something had changed.
If you cannot do a task 29, but flashing older stock ROMs do work may be because they perform a similar task while flashing. I may be the system partition is too full to allow anything to be loaded to flash.
But, I do not know.
