I heard the gingerbread SDK is out. Anyone know if any X'ers working on a leak yet?

The Gingerbread SDK is out, no "apk" for it. Devs might be able to port some functionality to the X, but anything that needs the new kernel is going to be out of the question.

This may be old news but I thought I'd throw it out there anyways. From what I've read the Android 3.0 gingerbread SDK is supposedly to be released next week. I'm not really a developer of Android applications as of right now but it still seemed note worthy.
3.0 is gingerbread. I suspect your source is wrong.

I wasn't thinking straight.
Thats cool, because now we should see all new features?
Or it isnt the final Gingerbread SDK?
Cool!
What's your source on this?
It may be true. Gingerbread final is promised at the end of the year, so a beta SDK will probably pop up somewhere soon. Google's goal is to have as many apps ready to be installed as possible.
Does any one know if the epic will be updated to 2.3 or any rumors. About that?

Kind of the wrong section of the forum to ask, but doubtful none the less. Most phones only get one legit update.
Is there a way of keeping sense on cm7?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
In a word, no.
I'm sure someone will eventually make a hybrid rom, like SkyRaider Athena for CM6, but that is not yet possible for CM7. Unless there has been a recent release that I missed, there's still no Evo/Inc Sense version of Gingerbread out there.
EDIT - according to this thread, "Gingersense" roms are rolling out... so maybe you won't have to wait too long for the Inc
There is a sense version of gb being ported to the myt4g, its out there, just not for us uet
yes, i am one who likes to flash then flush
I'm using skyraider 3.5 and I love it....but I really want the "slide to dismiss" feature that CM has. But I hate the Droid layout. Maybe there's an add on for skyraider? Idk...

Stimbling around the forums, i saw the leak of the desire z gingerbread rom. Would post the link if i could figure out how. Is anyone trying to port this to the dinc? Just curious. Thanks for any responses.

Port to INC
I too have been searching for anyone working to port this over to our Incredibles... I'm running a desireZ based port (froyo) and mostly working fine.
Sure wish we had a Ginger/Sense build... would happily donate to anyone willing to work on this port. Anyone?
We need a working GingerSense kernel. That's the only thing in our way.

Gingersense kernel.....and we get that from our own gingersense leak
Gingersense kernel
The other option would be for someone to put in way too much work (along with a lot of trial and error) into compiling a kernel that works.
That would be accomplished by putting in more dev time than anyone who works for HTC...that or by being an incredibly lucky super genius.
Take note...if anyone does compile a gingersense kernel without getting it from a leak, that person deserves to have their donate button clicked quite generously, because they will have accomplished something of tremendous value.
I asked HTC cust services and they said...
Dear Paul **********,
Thank you for contacting HTC,
The gingerbread update will become available for all Desire phones, but I do not know any official dates yet. It should be available approximately by the end of June, but as of now I do not know anything for sure. We all just have to be patient and wait.
Please contact us again if you have any other questions!

Now that the official Froyo release has dropped and we have custom roms like ACS and Bonsai with the new modem. Is that it? I don't image our phones will ever get gingerbread, and if they do it'll be in 2013 when we all have newer better phones and Android 6.0 is out. I guess im wondering if there is anything to look forward to in the development arena for the Epic in the future?
Froyo bug fixes, CM7, official Gingerbread, maybe a GB bug fix update, then EOL, up to the community.

Buy another phone...there's no more fun.
Sent from Bonsai 7.0.3
I have afeeling we have atleast 1 more year of good development to come, peaking in about 3-6 months, then declining the other 6. Not that development ever really took off,I would blame the update situation for this.

Yeah I hope so. I think samsung def screwed the pooch on this with all the froyo delays. Who knows when we'll/if we will see gingerbread

Anyone working on an sdk port? They have stable builds over at ns4g that work flawlessly for the most part. So?

Stable builds and working for the most part is pretty contradictory.
Lol you know what I mean

Sdk ports are useless for the most part. Just wait for Aosp source to drop and I'm sure we'll have a CM9 alpha pretty soon. The Evo is after all very very well supported in the community.
Hurray for that
I know on the evo shift they already have a rom that half works..

CM came out and said they aren't working on CM9 (ICS) until AOSP source is released. They don't want to have anything to do with SDK ports.
Once the ICS source is out, we're gonna see a whole bunch of ports and stuff. I think I'll keep my evo on cm7 until the day when cm9 is out. Might even use boot manager to use whatever cm9 betas are released.
We wont get anything stable tell we have the source for ICS and from i heard it wont be tell mid November and i would take atleast 2-3 for devs to get anything good for are Evo since where not on there top priority list im guessing Evo signiture or Bionic well be the first real port
