Stimbling around the forums, i saw the leak of the desire z gingerbread rom. Would post the link if i could figure out how. Is anyone trying to port this to the dinc? Just curious. Thanks for any responses.

Port to INC
I too have been searching for anyone working to port this over to our Incredibles... I'm running a desireZ based port (froyo) and mostly working fine.
Sure wish we had a Ginger/Sense build... would happily donate to anyone willing to work on this port. Anyone?
We need a working GingerSense kernel. That's the only thing in our way.

Gingersense kernel.....and we get that from our own gingersense leak
Gingersense kernel
The other option would be for someone to put in way too much work (along with a lot of trial and error) into compiling a kernel that works.
That would be accomplished by putting in more dev time than anyone who works for HTC...that or by being an incredibly lucky super genius.
Take note...if anyone does compile a gingersense kernel without getting it from a leak, that person deserves to have their donate button clicked quite generously, because they will have accomplished something of tremendous value.
I asked HTC cust services and they said...
Dear Paul **********,
Thank you for contacting HTC,
The gingerbread update will become available for all Desire phones, but I do not know any official dates yet. It should be available approximately by the end of June, but as of now I do not know anything for sure. We all just have to be patient and wait.
Please contact us again if you have any other questions!

Umm..so far all the Gingerbread roms that are out are still having some issues...low in- call volume, no hardware acceleration(videos), no flashlight...etc...and aren't quite fully functional as Froyo is just yet..which is perfectly understandable...
I was just wondering if your up coming rom will still have those issues....or if you are going to blow our minds with a fully functional Gingerbread rom for the Fasciante...

Completely understand your frustration. Unfortunately, if the devs don't have a full, stable source drop to work with, we really can't hold the current crop of common /generally recognized GB issues against them. Heck, they're probably more frustrated about it than the rest of us
OP, I look forward to the upcoming release and maturation of your project!
Another option would be terrific, but good luck with the SD card!

My point is that no legit devs post coming soon ****...they work on something then release it...hype is just lame and time after time these threads end in disappointment or the rom just doesn't offer anything worth a hype thread

yes on our *website* we have a coming soon tab..we dont make those posts on xda

the work would stand on its own without hype...but i looked at his post history and there are nothing but coming soon threads for various phones
*if* one is going to do this type of thread, at least list what the rom is comprised of (aosp, tw, other) what differentiates it from other existing roms (besides a theme, there are enough throms out there) and why it needs to be hyped up
either way ill eject myself from the thread now

I do know one of my roms will have 2.4 Ice Cream when google releases the SDK. But most are AOSP coupled with Touchwiz. They will also come with my version of The JIT Compiler. They will also come with my version of build.prop tweaks. And more.

If u got CM7 already there should be a CM9 also for u - but beware it may not run propper wihtout good hardware - even the wildfire is quite low for it (and i also read about needed hardware acceleration - others tell it hasn't much higher requirements then gingerbread - so we have to w8)
I don't know what u mean with soon - but till a fully working version will be out 2 month will pass properly. (with luck a bit more early...)
CM8 was reserved for Honeycomb - but since SourceCode never got released it will never be there so u wont miss someting.
For releases for galaxy mini keep track of the related forum:

I'm not that optimistic it will run decently. Jean-Baptiste wrote this:

those extensions were implemented they'd be too slow to result in

First what for phone do you have now
Second are you going develop cm9 for wildfire?
I've got the Galaxy W.
Regarding CM9 for Wildfire, I'll have to see if there will be some software gl hacks added to it. I imagine doing that and make it work decently will be a huge task, so they might not find it worthwhile. Otherwise there probably won't be any point in developing for the Wildfire, as the user experience would just be to bad from the slow UI.
Wildfire history is done... thank you for all arco... I think I'm going to buy a nexus s... the price dropped a lot and the community around that phone is amazly strong... what do you think?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using Tapatalk
Wildfire does anything it can at the moment. I am not asking more to be honest.
If I want more, I buy a newer phone. So, if cm9 works with wildfire it is good. if it doesn't, I don't give a flying feck.
getting gingerbread is good enough for me. I don't thinkICS would run smooth, bit it would be nice to see it.

Idk what the deal is but I'm pming this guy asking what his team has developed/done with this rom and all I'm getting is "minor tweaks" and "I can't release any info". I also asked what was different from the current kang of CM10 and got no answer. Sounds like bs to me, or they didn't do any actual development and it's just a kang of the current CM10 code. Or, for a "leader" of his development "team" he doesn't stay well informed.
Sorry but if you publicly ask people to test your "rom" you should be able to tell them what you/your team have done to it.

Yeah... I doubt he could even compile the CM source (which is easy if you know what you are doing, not if you post themed stock ROMs...). I'm only being doubtful because it is hard to make a ROM from AOSP source with enough features to compete with CM10 unless you just steal CM10. There have been other "dev teams" on the epic that have released horrible ROMs before... And I also don't like the idea that this one is taking the name from ACS (that could be debatable, but I am pretty sure).
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, no disrespect to the guy, but I remain skeptical for various reasons.
If this thing turns out to be awesome, I will gladly eat my words.
So I just went through like all this guys threads and most of them, or actually all of them, are just pointless I guess I can call them?
Most of them he posts questions that never even get not one comment. I'm not sure where he bes posting them. And he never gives links, he never credits ppl, he says he has a "company" affiliated with the fly grip accessories?? And he's somewhat always looking for a phone? Cuz it seems one day he breaks his epic and doesn't want another epic and the next day he has an epic and then he wants a new phone to develop on and last month he called himself a "new dev" that's "learning" and didn't know how to install ubuntu and now a month later he has a fully working jb ROM that apparently needs "testers" but can't be tested by anyone.
This guy is reallly starting to seem like he's just someone bored.

I've ported JoyOS on the inspire, same thing basically(unfortunately their site was down last I checked so no more updates on their end), it has a CM7.2 base. Its seems to be completely stable. Please keep in mind I've tried a few other times, this has only been because i wanted to make my own ROM for my personal use. I am by no means to the caliber of development or debugging as some of the awesome groups Ive seen over the past year. And I am trying to learn as quickly as possible about the in's and out's (coding, build prop edits, troubleshooting the whole nine as it were to keeping a rom up and stable).
So with that said, I would like to put out the port on the development forums, but am kinda weary as I am new to doing this, I may not be able to solve or answer all questions. Should I release it with what i have, keep learning, and simply state that in my intro? I saw one release of this port a long time ago, SeaPathJoyOS was the name I believe, liked it so much, that after it was stopped on dev, I made my own.
any feed back would be awesome, thanks in advance.
You can release it and see what people think of it. There may be some who can help with any issues. That's what we are all here for just remember to warn flash at your own risk.
