[REQ]Can anyone here build widget? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello, everyone.
I have a nice thoughts calendar (Not digital, physical one) which has thoughts for all 365 days of the year. I would like to see those thoughts on my Android devices. Can anyone make widget which displays that day's thought on the my home-screen? I can create a document of all those thoughts.
EDIT: I would like if it worked just like HTC's daily challenge widget. Tweaking the same widget to display a thought corresponding to the day would do the job.

(REQ)
If any widget builder comes across here
I would like a Whatsapp widget in the styleof the messegaes widget in etc sense! (the first with the white pices of paper you can scroll through)

Sure, what's in it for me?

Weather Program

Hi everyone,
Just got my Cingular 8525 the other day (upgrade from my Wizard). So far so good but I'm looking for a program that lets me see my local weather when connected with my WIFI. I've searched the web and forums but have only been able to find paid ones.
Are there are free ones out there?
Thanks in advance.

This is, in my opinion the best one out there, you can specify radar maps (.jpgs)
for your local area, many different icon sets, very customizable.
Thanks, I'll check it out!
i love this one

thats what i linked
Doh! didn't check out you're link... looks like the OP has found a winner.
Hrmm.... I'm looking for something that's free if at all possible.
The second one only seems to support cities for the US. I live in Canada so that didn't help. Thanks for your efforts though
EDIT: Weather Watcher seems to be the winner!
weather apps
I don't know any freeware weather app, but for me the bests are from sbsh and spb
The first one lets you customize the weather sources,
The other has a nice graphical interface and lets you to download (and create anmations) images from webcams
greetings to all
Weather Watcher seems to be the only PPC Weather Forecast freeware, and it is really clean and usefull... But no today screen integratin.

FYI: Mike Singer, the developer, is extremely responsive to requests. WW PPC is not his first priority, but he does answer any and all email.

*Concept* Omnia like interface *Need suggestions*

Hi all,
After I seen the Omnia interface, I decided to try making one that is similar or maybe better functionality. Currently, itz just a basic concept which I hope to develop more.
*Note* This is not a release version and hence it is not fully functional yet. I am just seeking ideas and opinions at this present moment.
Thanks!
wow!! can't wait for this!
Is their a link to see what the Omnia Interface is like since I have never heard of it and have no idea what it is for.
its the Samsung interface..great thinking..if u need any help i have some knowledge in C#
Edit : see here : http://discuss.pocketnow.com/showthread.php?p=74631

So what are the essentials besides the clock, battery status, operator? I intend to make all these into icons and can be hidden or shown and placed any where on the screen.

Fantastic idea, I was planning to start a thread like this.
In addition to the other feedback, don't forget some of the other functions of the HTC home, such as - weather and media player status.
Is your plan to imitate the TouchWiz II interface with the drag and drop icons, this would be an incredible addition to the current HTC offerings. Also, any plans for VGA for Universal and Athena owners?
Best of luck
Sound like a great idea!, keep working....thanks
A settings button would be very very useful.. I find it hard myself to get to settings without a sylus in a short amount of time.
A Quick SMS button would be a wonderful feature also.
icons
Hi there, would be great to see stuff like this. I aprreciate to test this one
In my opinion the icons of the samsung themes are too coloured. I would prefer to habve more "simpler" icons. - as these attached.
in case you want to get somethig like this let me know in case you want somebody to do some icons for u

ChrisTec Managed Today Screen Item Framework

Hello all,
i am currently playing around with my own made C# picture dialer that is displayed as a today item (very early beta i might add ). To be able to have the .net DLL displayed as a today item i use the ChrisTec Managed Today Screen Item Framework , written by Christopher Fairbairn.
it works quite well, so i thought it might be usefull to others.
if someone else wants to try it, it can be downloaded at http://www.codeplex.com/ManagedTodayScreen
sorry if this has already been mentioned on this forum, i have searched for posts relating to this framework, but i did not find it.

Changes are that i will be releasing a version here
I used it in my music server client and was pretty pleased with the results. I couldn't build it myself though, so I didn't have some of the newest additions like getting the Today Screen colors and all.
Just be careful and try not to make your today screen plugin a battery hog, since it'll always be running

That is an interesting concept, perhaps at a later time. btw the plugin can be downloaded at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413552 so perhaps you can also post your suggestions there.

[REQ] More quick links!!

I'm suprised not to find a request for this when searching. I need to increase the number of quick links on the Sense home tab. I've just used my last one and need some more.
Can anyone help with this?
Edit: Probably worth mentioning - I've already got the 4x4 quicklinks mod installed. I'm ideally looking for another page, but 5x5 will do for now
With Max Manila 2.519202525 Ultimate you can have up to 20 quick links.

Thanks, but it's overkill. I have had that installed, and I just didn't like it.
I'm sure there'll be some way to extend it, without having to add all the other stuff that comes in that mod.
Would be nice to have someway of having a second page you could flip down to (a bit like the iphone has flip across...)

My thoughts exactly, but that sounds like a massive reworkinging to me. I think to get 5x5 would simply be a case of someone "in the know" modding the existing manila.
For the time being you can get 4X4. It's in the stickies.

Ooops! Sorry, turns out I wasn't paying enough attention...
There's a 5x4 (5 across) cab on this page...

Are there any 4x4 ones that don't break contacts pictures/wallpapers?

The contact pics is still an issue, but since the people tab is the next tab along, I personally don't see the point in having contacts on the home page.
I don't know if the wallpaper issue still exists with the 4x4 cab on the stickied tweaks page, but I can confirm that if you use HDWall to get a background on all tabs, that definitely works.
HDWall
I like to have my girlfriends contact shortcut on the homescreen, so its kinda important to me...
I've seen a post with a 5x4 arrangement where contact pics work, but it has two different cabs, but no indication which works with the HD2.
Anyone?

Fair comment about the gf on the shortcut. Didn't think of that.
The 20 shortcuts is in this post...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5038737&postcount=1
and is called Vovichek_Jamrecords_20shcut_m2525. (I didn't want to directly link the cab as there's some other useful stuff on that post.)

Awesome, thanks heaps for that.
EDIT: 20 shortcuts works, doesn't appear to affect any other homescreen UI, and contact images display properly. Good thing I tried it, turns out 16 shortcuts would have been woefully inadequate. Didn't realise quite how quickly I had accumulated apps...

HTC Clock Screen for Windows...anyone seen this yet?

I found this website looking for a SharePoint connector for Outlook, and found this program that puts the HTC Clock on your desktop. It's pretty sweet! So if I can't look at my Inc all the time at work, I can look at the clock at least!
I did not create this, or have anything to do with this program, I was just browsing and saw it pop up at this website.
HTC Clock for Windows
I've been using this since August. I love it.
+1 on this.
Nice! Is there a calendar widget like this? Would be cool to sync my Google cal....

I don't know about that...I did some more browsing in codeplex, and didn't see anything like that. It may be out there, I haven't looked at all...
