By update do you mean an firmware update or an app update? If firmware update, you shouldn't really be updating your device as the hd2 wasn't meant to receive that update in the first place.

When I choose the option to search for a update, it found one. Then I try to insyall, because it have to reboot I never get the chance to install.
I also haverá problems to make a call when connected to my Parrot.
Anyone can help me?

You cant run updates through phone. You must/should update through developers page, etc.

its a rooted phone, never auto update.

Not only that, but the HD2 is not a native android phone. Android is hacked onto it. It's a port. No official updates from HTC or any carriers.
Rooted phones can't auto-update?

That's what I meant to say with my limited English
Well said.

Your phone will never be recognized as an Android HD2... cause it doesn't exist.
So you're trying to update the NAND of another phone... you're lucky it doesn't work
Update via the thread of the build you used (or with another build).

Here a question/idea... Slide 2.1/UI ---> MT3G?

So, I had a G1 prior to the MT3G. Back when we were all mad because 1.6 wasn't pushing yet, but could any day, we had threads goin waiting for a status from someone that they were getting the OTA. The first people that got it were over seas, UK I believe. Within hours, that version of 1.6 was pulled, posted, and we manually updated to it. If I remember correctly, there wasn't a need to root to run the TMo pushed 1.6. So, my question is, why couldn't someone pull 2.2 w/ UI, and then we install it, especially those of us with the perfect SPL. Is that possible, or is it prevented by hardware/firmware incompatiblities?
Any thoughts?

Not quite sure i understand you, but a rom has to be made for each specific device. So with the g1 is t-mobile US didnt relelease 1.6 for g1 but t-mobile uk did then it didnt matter, same device it could just be flashed.
We have to wait for someone to release 2.1 rom for MT3G in any country before we get an official 2.1 rom, rather than aosp roms and ports

I couldn't get the SDK to work, and that was after multiple tries and walk throughts. I did it without the SDK, nogo. It's a sandisk card as well... :/

Is it failing driver downloads? I had to download htcsync everytime i setup sdk for the sdb drivers to install.

Even with HTCSync I couldn't get the drivers to work. I also tried on both a laptop and desktop. I got the numbers of the card using terminal on the phone, made the gold card, didn't work. Maybe that's because it's a sandisk, dunno...

Don't think its due to clockwork mod
I just bought a 3 branded (ireland) wildfire and am having trouble unlocking and rooting it. Saw the 2.2 update rom available and tried to install but because I have a branded phone it won't let me.
sucks balls. HTC need to start pushing the networks to release updates as soon as they are available...

Just check what software version it's running. 99% positive it'll be 2.1, in which case it can be rooted, incredibly easily, by following here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788776
Then if you want Froyo, flash either WildFire or Puzzle. Or wait a bit for CyanogenMod.
say if i install this unrootable official froyo ROM (RUU_Buzz_Froyo_HTCCN_CHS_2.10.1400.3_Radio_13.53.5 5.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151119_signed.exe) and will I be able to install the custom ROMs available later ???

[Q] Android 2.29.405.2 update

I have an HTC HD2 phone, but I converted it to run on android Froyo 2.2. M \y problem now is that I just received a rom update for my phone, but I don't know how to get the update because when my phone powers off it goes back to being a windows phone, yet the new update requires the phone to power off when it updates. What can I do to get the update?

Nothing, just wait until a new custom rom with these upgrades included is released and upgrade manually.

What do you thinks gonna happen when you phone restarts? That update it for the device the android was built for.
The hd2 is running a port. The update you're seeing is meant for if you are using a native android phone that this port is taken from. If you did manage to do the ota update, it wouldn't run on the hd2 because its an official update meant for official android phone. You will have to wait until the chef updates the port.

Since you're rooted(you did root your phone right?), you can't use official updates from HTC. You have to download a ROM from xda forums and flash.

no i i didnt root it! and i don't know how
mobile is new!
where i can get official rom?
Ok well I'd recommend rooting your phone first. Its very simple. There's a thread in the HTC Aria forums where it guides you step by step on how to root.
Sent from my Liberty CM7
does it work with gratia? have anybody try it?
Yeah it works with every HTC android phone. I would post the link but I'm on from the xda app and don't know how to post the link. Just go to HTC Aria> Android Development> and there's a guide on how to install unrevoked. Just follow that.

If you have a gratia you can't root the phone. The hboot has not been cracked yet. If you received the phone like this you are going to need to send it back for repair. Also there is no released RUU for the stock gratia.

Isn't the gratia almost exactly like the Aria? Because Arias ROMs are from legend and gratia.
Sent from my Liberty CM7
yes it is the same phone but the hboot which is required for root is a newer version on the gratia. The USA aria and asian with 2.1 have an hboot of .57 the gratia / aria 2.2 update in asia have an hboot of 1.01 or something which cannot be hacked hence no root.

Cyanogenmod and LA Roms are not from Legend. LA FR series is from Aria (Asia) and Gratia, which is an Aria with newer firmware, such as the newer HBOOT that jznomoney mentioned, that hasn't been hacked yet.

Better yet, could you start the HBOOT in your phone (turn off, press volume down + power button and a white screen with text will come up) and check its version? It should be 0.57.000
Do you know if someone is working on Gratia looking for a way to root it?
Will be possible to do?
