I can't use HTC sync between my pc and my legend, i can't transfer any files between them either, the only thing i can do when i connect it to my PC, is to recharge it..
My PC says that it cannot install any drivers, and i have tried to install them manually, but without any luck.
What should i do ?

What OS and version are you using for starters (i.e. Windows XP, Vista, 7 etc)
And not last, what ROM do you have? Stock HTC or a cooked one?

I suddenly had a problem where my Legend would charge over USB but there was no indication on the phone that sync was available.
I tried a bunch of different roms. Even going so far as to revert to a stock ROM.
Nothing worked. I ended up putting it in as a warranty return for repair.
One strange thing was it would still connect in Fastboot and recovery, give that a try. If so, you have the same strange problem I had.

I think that i may have the same problem as you, though i can charge it through the computer. But i can't access my SD card and i can't use HTC sync

Hello, Recently in Singapore Sense has been released in an official update for the Magic. I am a Diamond user, but i'm trying to help my sister install this update on her phone.
The RUU needs HTC Sync to be running and connected to the Magic, but the Magic is not detecting HTC Sync. I have reinstalled and restarted my computer countless times on THREE different systems.
I've tried this on THREE different computers and it has worked on NONE of them.
I am EXTREMELY frustrated. Can anyone help me?
my problem was a little different from yours, everytime i connected my rogers magic to the computer and it tried to connect to HTC sync it restarted all the time, i did some research and a hard reset was suggested and that worked for me so maybe u can try that.........

Hi, just plug in your magic to the PC, then run the driverXP update (you can get the driverXP update from here http://www.htc.com/sea/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=3&dl_id=573, just scroll down and choose the XP driver), after that SYNC it and your PC should recognize your magic
I have a problem which looks connected but I can't be sure.
I just upgraded to the official 1.5 ROM this morning and now when i plug my usb cable, the phone is charging, but nothing else is happening. I don't get the usual 2 notifications for synching and mounting the sd card...
I tried rebooting the phone once, No luck. Could there be another thing to do?
The update XP stuff didn't do anything since it looks like the problem is on the phone side...

Hey, I was looking to flash my rom to a better one however when i connect my htc touch to my pc the light turns on on my phone but the computer does not pick it up, doesnt even make a noise or show up in my computer. Have tried soft reseting, hard reseting, reinstalling windows device manager and tried to use on another computer but again the computer does not pick it up. Cable looks to be in fine condition, could this be a fault with the phones software? Any help would be great thanks.

no, its the default rom, the one the phone came with. it just wont connect, is there a way to upgrade or flash my rom to a better one without connecting to my computer? how do i upgrade or flash my phone

My phone was working well. Then i installed the new rom from mdj, CM7.
At first it was working good, but then i plugged my phone to pc but it wasnt recognized anymore. So i wanted to change back to another rom. No matter what i did my pc and my netbook didnt recognize my phone anymore. then i tried to update the rom with CW and a fixed rom from CM7. Since then my phone tells me theres nothing to boot in nand. And pc still not recognizing my phone. Pls help me guys. im trying to fix this since 3 hours but nothing works...pls help me.
power off your phone (pull battery and put it back in)
hold volume down and power button until you get to the tri colored screen
plug the usb into the computer
flash over any RUU
i tried that allready but as i said pc dont recognize as usb...so at the screen it says serial and not usb...but still i tried to install it and it didnt work
When i boot the phone it says...nand kernel open failed...is there a way to install a nand rom completely over CW?
Then is sounds like your pc has the prob not the phone.
Reboot PC and also try re-instaling Mobile Device Center or ActiveSync depending on what version of windows you have.

have you tried reflashing winmo using sd card? then start all over again.

Trying flashing your official WM Rom through SDcard. Once you are back in WM, you can flash your desire NAND Rom.
i took the ruu_signed.nbh from an official rom named it to leoimg.nbh and put it on my sd...started the phone with volume down and power...it is updating

the first time the update didnt work and now its updating again and i hope it will finish and make it work again and not cancel again...

better fully uninstall mobile device center using softs like your uninstaller and alike to totally clean the installation then plug in usb. Then let Windows 7 do its job in installing the driver.
i cant believe it :S for real i cant believe it...i just changed the usb cable and tried with it :S and it worked :S the driver got installed and now its working :S now thats curious...not working with original cable anymore but with a cable from the nokia n97 :S
Just bought a used HD2 (TMOUS). I checked the bootloader and it already had HSPL installed. However, I wanted to flash stock ROM and do task29 prior to installing HSPL again myself.
I flashed the stock ROM v3.14.531.1 via microSD card method. Then I tried to run task29 and it failed. Bootloader wouldn't detected the USB connection. I also try to install HSPL but it doesn't work. I get an error: USB COnnect Failed!
When I connect to PC or wall charger, the phone charges perfectly fine. I even see the icon that says its connected.
When I am on the bootloader and connect the phone to my PC via USB, the white background area says "Serial" and it doesn't change to "USB".
I tried using different USB cables and also different PC, but still no luck.
What is wrong? Why can't I connect via USB? Help please.
Have you tried droidexployer? Doubt that'll work but worth a shot. What might be wrong is you don't have the proper drivers installed.

Droidexployer is for devices running rooted android. mine is still stuck on windows, i can't install hspl in order to run android...
i am sure its not a driver problem because i have another hd2 which connects perfectly fine.
Have you tried it on a different usb port on the pc? Sometimes one will work while another won't for some reason. Also remember to check the options in ActiveSync or WMDC to ensure usb connections are allowed, seems a stupid mistake, but one I have made myself before. If all that fails, maybe try on a different pc or with a different usb cable. Sorry for the super simple answers, I see you're not a brand new user, but its often these simple little things that hang us up

I seen your comment that said you already had hspl so I just assumed it was on android, sorry. Yea the different usb ports is a great idea if it wasn't for the fact that you even tried it on a different computer as well. Since you said you bought it used would you mind saying where from? I've known people who have problems with they're phone & can't find out how to fix it so they try and sell it on ebay. If you did get it from there the best thing to do is contact the seller and explain your problem. Ask if it had this problem before and say you don't want this phone if it's not repairable. With ebay you only have a short time to file a complaint if it leads to that.

So, i have been looking for solution to my problem.
I have HD2 and wp7 on it. Yesterday i wanted to change it to android. So i uninstalled wp7 and downloaded one rom from xda. Everything went well, until it reported a problem. There wasn't usb connection. I tryed to install it a few times, but everytime the same problem.
Then i tried to install wp7 and wp6.5 and android. ROM's i downloaded from here. Everytime it report usb connection problem.
Now i cant to anything, and i cant install any rom, i cant install any radios, hspl etc. .. What i should do now, that i get it to work? Please, i need my phone. And sorry for my bad english, ask if you dont understand something
I've tried everything, i just run HD2 toolkit (task 29) but it also says that there are connection problem.
So i think the most serious problem is, that i have usb connection problems, how i can fix that?
Have you tried all your USB ports, or have you tried another USB cable.?
You could try installing WMDC or Activesync to PC just in case it a PC driver issue !

So, is there any way to uninstall the broken 'file', or way to install new one, without usb-connection

No it is not because you flashed a different radio. The radio is software that is used for your data connection, cellular connection, blutooth, WiFi, and camera. Plus if the radio was "broken" your HD2 would be hard bricked. If you used your computer to install a radio recently then that means that either your drivers have gotten screwed up or your USB cable is damaged and can not be used to transfer data anymore.
I used my computer to install the radio, and i have tried to delete drivers. And if I remember correctly, the radio installation went stuck, but the whole radio-system was ok, because i used it when i had wp7. Can i install new radio from sd-card or something? Please everyone help me !
Edit: I forgot to tell that i can go to bootloader, and it shows me the USB mode. Will this help any?

Try another PC/Notebook & try re-installing WMDC ...
You could also look at flashing a radio & WM6.5 via SD card method ...
