Hello,
I have been having some persistent troubles with trying to text one of my contacts. Occasionally texts will never deliver to this contact, however she has no problem texting my phone.
However, whilst this problem occurs, I test to see if its my phone thats the issue and text other people and they receieve their texts pretty instantly, and my contact can send and receive texts from other contacts too.
Any ideas?
Thanks

It could just be a coincidence....
but ever since I've had my HD, I'm losing text messages. I've had people say they've sent me a text but I've never received them. I've even sat next to someone and got them to send me a text (with delivery reports turned on) and it says it's been delivered, but the text never arrived.
it happens randomly though so difficult to trace.
Like I said, it could just be coincidence, but this morning I went to my phone and found 4 text messages sat in my outbox that hadn't been sent...no warning, no alarm, they just never went. I had to reset my phone before they would go.
I'll give O2 a call but I know the response I'm going to get...nothing wrong that they can see!!!
starting to get frustrating as I could have missed lots of important texts
This is strange indeed. Have you also tried looking in the full inbox? Not just in TouchFlo 3D...
I don't use TF3D so it wont be that. I've just set up bluebook on o2 so if messages appear in there but not on my phone then I'll know it's a system problem and not a phone problem.
and since the O2 customer service system has been down ever since I got my phone they can't even help me look into it!!
Hello
Just been chatting to tech support at HTC Europe about the slow texting in conversation mode with more than 30 or so messages in it and the nice fellow advised me that the quickest way to have the issue sorted out is to ring tech support so they can raise the issue on their system. He said its a much quicker route to having the problem addressed. So everyone get ringing I think.
Agreed. it would be excellent if HTC could work on something like auto hide older messages, with a button to show older messages if the user wants to see them.
showing all conversation could be unusefull. better to hide older sms
we've all come to that solutions
better start ringing I guess, will be calling HTC sweden tomorrow... i've used My Phone to archive the messages and deleted them from phone ( <5k msg ) so it was pretty laggy
To be honest every time this happens to me it's when the radio loses signal and tries to re-connect to my network. When I have constant full signal I have absolutely no lag. But as I said earier when I have little/low signal I have lag due to the radio disconnecting/re-connecting to the network. Hope this helps.

why compromise? If Opera/IE can show pages a lot longer then the length of 30 text messages with no lag, so does HTC Message.
I couldnt agree more
Its utterly ridiculous that the phone practically freezes when you have multiple sms messages in your inbox, this needs to be sorted out - while the Leo is a phenominal device and sense is awesome, these issues make the phone less than desirable I find myself using my second line (storm2) due to this issue - It drives me crazy that such a powerful awesome device has issues like this
when you press the send button just after entering the text app and press no to send an empty message all smses will load instantly... that's kinda odd...
I can confirm the same behaviour.
That suggests this is just a straight bug in the software (perhaps in the code to update the display?) rather than some fundamental problem. When the screen is not being updated (because the focus is on the "yes/no" popup) the message list updates pretty much instantly.
Could you post the contact details of the HTC TECH support.. always when I call support.. i get some n00by telephone girl who makes tickets...
My friend who has unlimited text messages sends me these massively long messages, over 1000 characters (about 7 sms strung together). When I receive them I get most of the message but the last bit seems to be cut off (sometimes it will even stop halfway through a word, mid sentence). I am on O2 UK and called them to see if this was a carrier limit or a phone limit but they didn't seem to know much. They asked me to clean my sim card which I did and it didn't solve the problem.
Anyone experience this or know of a reg setting which limits sms?
Thanks
ever since getting my hero i have had issues with receiving text messages. i receive a fair amount of the messages that i am sent, but i don't always receive them all. it takes a phone re boot to cure the problem for a short time, then it happens again. does anyone know if there is a way to fix this problem?
rooted htc hero with EzHero v5.1 ROM
I use Google voice as my only phone number. Lately, whenever I get a text or a voicemail, it won't notify me. Even if I manually refresh, it still won't notify me. Background data is turned on and I have SMS messages turned off because I don't like getting 2 notifications. If I uninstall and reinstall it, it works fine for a time and then stops working again some time later. If I take out the battery and "hard" reboot, it will send all the messages that have been "hanging" to the phone again. Sometimes, I'll get texts/voicemails that are over a day old and I had no idea they were there.
This makes it where Google voice is pretty much useless to me, especially since I use it partially for work and if I'm missing voicemails, then I'm not servicing my students properly.
Any one else out there have this same problem?
I've had a similar situation with texts -- no notifications. I haven't received any voicemails recently, so I can't comment there. I was glad to be able to avoid having all texts to GV resent as texts to my phone, but I may have to do that, at least temporarily.
