hav'nt really seen an answer to this.
i use FroYo WWE Android 2.2 Rom. unlike in the 2.1 version, you can't change only the lock screen wallpaper without changing your phone wallpaper.
i've seen a solution using metamorph but this rom doesn't support system overlay yet.
is there any way to change the lock screen wallpaper in froyo 2.2? maybe by alternating the HtcLockScreen.apk?
You're not supposed to, not even pure Android devices, I believe this was HTC's intention.

We're not suppose to do a lot of things. Doesn't mean we won't do them anyway
That's why we root our phones. I'm sure it can be done
is it possible to move this to "Legend Android Development"?
i think the answer to this is more of a root develop issue
This is related with live wallpaper. Desire with android 2:1 couldn't change its lock screen wallpaper (i think)

I know the HTC Legend is running 2.1, but I noticed none of the video on the internet show the Legend using a Live Wallpaper.
Has anyone read up or seen on a video whether or not it has them?
The legend has a bubble LWP that is in a vid, if I find it again I'll post it.
Found what I was looking for:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdO8AGthTDw
Looks like no live wallpapers for the HTC Legend.
Can anyone translate what the demo person is saying?

Hey, i try the Legend by the htc on the CeBIT 2010 in Germany.
It has no Live wallpapers
And I try the Desire, I have one word for this phone ´´Power´´
Don't worry if our good ROM cookers can port Live wallpapers on Hero they will do it for Legend too, and even better because the Legend's GPU is the same as N1
yes..but nobody knows whether they will be able to root the legend yet. I remember devs struggling with the tattoo and Droid ERIS. So may be htc is patching all exploits in their kernels.
I am sure HTC forgot a hidden exploit, ROM cooking is the main advantage of hTC android phones.Anyway do you think Hero official 2.1 ROM will be as difficult to jailbreak? If yes that mean we will have Hero's devs working with us to find an exploit
BTW the Nexus One is OS 2.1 and is already rooted
Download HelixLauncher From the market and you have Live Wallpapers.
On homescreen push the house and choose helixlauncher.
You don't have the Sence interface anymore, but you can switch back anytime if you need it.
Also you can turn off both but don't see why you should do that.
Edit, The live wallpapers don't seem to work, but the discription said it is. Strange, guess we have to wait...
hoping for an update for live wallpaper to be "enabled" for Legend.
I heard that current android rom for HD2 is actually a simulater over WM. So there are some restrictions i.e. the screen color is still 65K please advise whether there is a PURE android rom for HD2, thanks. I am wonder whether wait for HTC Desire HD or buy HD2 now.

Short answer, no there is not. Long answer, they have come surprisingly far in porting Android to the HD2 but there is still a lot of work to be done. The developers here are flat out amazing for making it as far as they have in as short a time as they have but as of right now no it's not a "pure" ROM if by pure you mean replaces WinMo. It currently only runs off of your SDcard and shuts down the Windows Kernel to boot the Linux Kernel... But like I said, it really seems like they're not far off from what you're inquiring about which I can only assume is a NAND version.

It has been stated several times now that it is NOT EMULATED. Haret shuts down the Windows Kernel and starts up the Linux kernel. There is no trace of Windows running. It's done this way for several reasons - No touching the internal memory of the phone whilst in beta to prevent bricking, easier to apply rapid updates and the main reason is that it's still needed to initialise hardware.
As for the screen color, that's a physical hardware limitation. The LCD Panel is a 65k Panel. You can't change that.

Hi, it is not a simulator or an emulator.
However, it is started from windows currently whilst development continues.
Once development is complete I assume it will be available to boot from the phones internal rom (nand).

I thought the LCD itself was 16M colors, but it was winmo which was limiting to 65k. This isn't true?

It is of course better if I can do my research on my own. However, English is not my mother language, so I have problem to read through all the technical issues. I will try to learn more.

Seconded, I've been Googling for a definitive answer for several days now, coming up with all sorts of conflicting information (such as the app at: androidforhd2.tk -- is that app just a hoax? Watching it in Process Explorer, it seems to do pretty much nothing but animate a progress bar using VB...).
This thread is by far the most recent/straightforward answer I could've hoped for.
i posted a question about this in the Q&A section and nobody really answered so i'm assuming this hasn't been developed yet.
using the desire hd build i loved the animation for the flip clock upon unlocking my hd2. since most of the desire hd builds have been somewhat abandoned and are still somewhat buggy i switched back to a regular sense build.
i noticed devs for other devices have ported the animated flip clock to work on other roms that already included sense. this may not even be possible on the hd2 since the necessary changes were applied through an update.zip file flashed through a custom recovery image.
i'm sure there would be a lot of interest out there if anyone was to create such a great feature. i know it might not be possible but has anyone given it a shot yet? if so, some of us would love to hear about it! thanks!

someone made one awhile ago, it was too laggy to use, as it was an app by itself. not tied in with the specific sense build.
also, please do not post new threads in development. unless you plan to develop this yourself.
my bad on the wrong section. i thought i noticed people posting development requests in the development section but i guess i was mistaken. apologies.

+1, god i hate that function.
'check the time, 6 am? sweet another hour of slee (clock flips)... motha ****a'
Yeah I noticed a lot of people don't like the flip clock. It's a love or hate, I'm in the percentage that love it. If you want it to be actually in the build it seems pretty difficult. The clock has to be active when flashing it. I've tried ADB installing it but doesn't work as it relies on the cache for something because from what I read, you have to trick the system into thinking it's the same clock as the original. Not to positive about it but you can read more about it in the desire section of EVO section. This post will tell you more about how weird of an installation it is. Too bad we don't have a recovery to flash things easily like this in.

Thanks for the heads up but the froyo_z build seems to have the same flaws as the desire hd builds.
It's def a love/hate relationship with the flip clock haha.

I have been an iPhone developer since 2007. You can only write so many programs for it before it gets boring. I just got an Aria today.
What is the best rom build? I like the SenseUI, but is it better to have all the customization that the other main rom besides liberated 2.2?
I also adore the picture I saw of an Android background with sort of a multicolored gridline animated background. What rom runs this? (for future reference)
That's the animated Nexus Wallpaper. Aria stock does not support live wallpapers.
The CyanogenMod Rom has a pretty sexy version of it. I've been using CM for about 3 months now. I just recently went back Sense, cause I had to get a replacement phone due to damage. Took all of 5 hrs to get rid of it!
I love CM and the ability to customize.

CyanogenMod 6.1 is a AOSP (Android Open Source Project) of Froyo 2.2 that has the Live Wallpaper you described.
So I guess the guess the customizable one is more beneficial than the liberated?
Also, which one is newest/most stable/supports all of Aria's hardware?

I would think that anything you developed on the CM 6.1 should run on both of ROMs where as if you developed something on Liberated that was dependent on HTC Sense, then that could possibly limit it to Liberated ROM users.

Tom
Whoa there. It's a little soon to be thinking about development. I still don't completely know my way around the settings.
I saw there was a leak of 2.2 with SenseUI. Is this something to look into?

Hi
I have the HTC Gratia with Android 2.2.
Is it possible to put the HTC clock to flip the numbers down everytime I unlock the phone?
A friend of mine as the HTC HD mini with windows and the clock flips the numbers down. I like that animation, is it possible to install or modify my original HTC clock?
Thank you in advance.

You could try one of these: http://www.androidzoom.com/android_applications/free+flip+clock.
P.S -HTC Gratia is not the Aria but they are very, very close (Sort of the European version of the Aria).

Actually, Gratia and Aria are just different marketing names for the exact same device with the board name Liberty.
Hi
Thanks for your answer.
Is there any chance to modify the original one to do that? Or make any adaptation? I like that widget very much with the weather and all... It seems to me there´s no widget exactly like the HTC clock, is there?
Thank you.

No, making modifications to a widget is impossible without the source code.
I use fancy widgets pro. You can download a user uploaded skin in the app called ht7 that looks almost identical. I love the htc clock too.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
The answer to your question is No. The flip animation would be a copyright infringment of HTC's ip, of the Sense clock, which is why you don't see it available anywhere. Closest we get is the skins for Fancy Widget and Weather & Toggle Widget, that very very closely resemble the HTC clock.

No, the SDK won't help with anything. They are not releasing the HTC Sense source code. I don't know why people keep implying this.
