[Q] Planning to buy Wildfire: Modding intended

I'm planning to buy Wildfire next month, seeing Froyo will be coming soon on it. I'm good at modding motorolas, linux and likewise stuff. But I've not come across any of android modding yet.
I've so far come to know some custom ROMs are available on Wildfire. Are they safe and worth to flash? Also, altogether does Wildfire support a complete suite of mods? I mean not just rooting, but does it support what all HTC doesn't want it to support?
Please make me aware of the current modding scenario and possibilities so that I can decide whether or not to buy a Wildfire. (I can't really stay on defaults, so I'm asking for mods)
Cheers....
anyone? :!

Are they safe and worth to flash? yes pretty safe.
does Wildfire support a complete suite of mods? yes, roms, themes etc
but does it support what all HTC doesn't want it to support? i guess so yes
There is one issue that makes modding a little bit harder on Wildfire until you know about it.
The problem is the same as on HTC Desire. You need to go into recovery and mount up system to be able to for instance change fonts. This can be solved by using modded kernels , some are already available for some versions of the roms that are available right now.
Other than that I guess it is as moddable as any other Android Phone.
Great.... Recovery and mounting won't be a problem if I'd get a good guide at the first time.
I'd buy the phone soon! Getting excited to mod it up on the first day itself!

Quick chat about mytouch slide

I just ordered a 50$ refurb mytouch slide 3g from tmobile, just to test out their network around me and I only had 75$ to work with but next week I'll have more money so I'll pay out the difference for G2 or vibrant unless I love this device.. what is the latest or best ROM i can currently flash to this device? I'll be getting it sometime around this Thursday or Friday, also if I choice to change it for another device, i can just flash the stock ROM and poof! that is all right? thanks!
You need to root first, then I'd suggest updating the radio.
CyanogenMod 6 is a great ROM, but you can try all of the ROMs in the development section to see what suits your fancy.
Yes, you can flash wesgarner's stock ROM to revert.
I think many people will be switching to the G2 (myself included) though I really do like my Slide. It is a nice little phone. The keyboard isn't as great as the G1 (the G2 is also lacking) yet it has as much flash and RAM as the N1, which makes it quite snappy.
Yeah, CM6 is okay. I'd go with #TeamFenix v2.0 though.
But if you want a fully functional ROM, stick with CR_MOD.
I've been looking at other phones, and as tempting as they are, there's no real reason for me to upgrade beyond the Slide at this point. I have it OC'd to 825 and running totally smooth. Once we get a stock Froyo update, it's going to be a great phone.

+1000 Very good ROM,you must try it
I don't know guys - they all look, feel and work the same to me - honestly I can't wait for some REAL custom roms not based on TouchWiz (which is super annoying) .. If you used MIUI you will know what I mean.
Do you think it will ever happen, or are we tied to S-Pen software embedded into stock rom?
Another vote for Rocket ROM. Keep in mind that there is a file to revert to the stock theme somewhere in the thread.
These threads aren't allowed but before it's closed... I use Cassies Rom
they are all good... Though we might differ on our experiences with the current available ROMs + considering the fact that though we have same Phone model and brand, but the fact is each of us has unique Galaxy Note on our hands (Example is some NOTE can tolerate extreme undervolting and some cant)... We have about 5 active ROM thread, you can visit each of the thread, read the users feedback and you can also post your queries there... or you can try each of the ROM, have each of them stay at least 3-5days on your phone, then you can decide whats best for you (like what i did)... GoodLuck...
Hi there,
I know this is an old thread, but since it was the first one I found when I was searching for good Roms, I figured I'd post my experience here. I've been using RocketRoms for a while now and find them clean and they work well. I've also been playing around with Franco's kernels, and so far I've never seen such great battery life as I have today with RocketRom v22 and Franco kernel 7. Once ICS roms become more stable I'll switch over, but I'm so pleased with performance now that I'm reluctant to switch over too early.

Very smooth, no lag, great battery life.
stock LA1 + Franco/Abyssnote kernel here. Usability of Kernel depends on your note
As far as GB roms go I had great success with Darkyrom.
I've recently gone over to Midnote ICS - and so far it's the best of the current crop of ICS roms.
If you really need your phone to work every day without fault, go with darkyrom.
If you want the newest bells and whistles, go with midnote.
I've tried most of the GB ROMs, and personally, there is only this 'refined' one which i always go back to... DarkyROM
Run it with Franco kernel, you got a bloody satisfying setup

Getting My Desire HD

Hi, i should have my Desire HD soon and am very excited.
I recently sold a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 (was rooted) and was wondering whether or not i should root my new phone and why...
The reason i rooted my previous smartphone was to make it faster but this one has three times the RAM etc. So would it be worth it now?
Also, does Juice Defender require root? It really helped my battery life with my Xperia X10...
Thank in advance!
I have one myself I have it rooted and installed with a custom rom called "Android Revolution HD™ 7.0.0" Great custom rom, would be a shame to not install ;D

Why not go for an ICS version? The IceColdSandwich is really nice, have a look at the android development forum of DHD.
While you are still waiting for your brand new DHD, why not prepare yourself with AAHK (advanced ace hack kit) and some good custom ROM. I would recomend you to try Android Revolution HD 6.3.2 (official base with Sense 3.0) or newer 7.0.0 (Sensation XL base with Sense 3.5).
Just don't wait too long to just rooted your phone and install custom ROM, cause once you have grip with good custom ROM like those cooked by mike1986 or JSLEnterprise you will never wanna go back to stock ROM with their bloated app.
I would second IceColdSandwich. Lord did a fantastic job and it has really made me appreciate my phone. When I got my Inspire (same difference as a dhd) it was really only because I needed a phone, this was free with ATT and I couldn't afford one of the "fancier" ones. Since going with an pics from, however, it feels like my phone is top of the line. Does everything I need it to do and now I can really care less if I have the newest released phone. There are still a few bugs, but Lord has been updating like mad recently so its only a matter of time before they get sorted out

Hey dude. Certainly yes to rooting it
As for Roms to use, a can recommend RCMIX3D Roms and Android Revolution Roms.
My experience of ICS Roms is not good.
But then I use my camera and camcorder loads, and they are the things that are not yet fully operational in any ICS rom.
ICS is coming to the DHD soon anyway, so properly cooked ICS Roms are not far away.
Best of luck dude.
Greg.

If you really need the root privileges then go for it otherwise you could wait a couple of months since ICS updates with sense 3.5 are going to be rolling for the DHD later this year. If you don't care about that update then get Ace hack kit, root it and I would recommend LeeDroid 5.1.1.
Good Luck!

[Q] Yet another question about GS4 rom!

Hey guys,
I need you're help deciding on a rom I will put on my girlfriend's Canadian GS4.
She only knows Touchwiz and is tired of the lag and bugs.
So I rooted her phone and flashed Clockwork recovery. The last step is to decide between CM and Stock Android.
She is looking for the most stable experience and is probably not going to customize the phone that much. What she really wants is no more lag and that some apps like Rdio actually work properly. We have been trying to send her synchronized songs to the sdcard by following all the steps proposed on the Rdio forum but it eventually 'forgets' the songs and she has to start over.
So...for a person that wants a stable and lag free experience...Stock Android? Is their a version of 4.4.3 and is it any good?
What do you guys think?
Thanks for the help!
I would prefer AOSP based roms because it is smooth and light.
Check out this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2537495
I've found it nothing but smooth stable and great battery life.
Guys, this thread is a month old. I'm sure the op had figured it out.
