I got my epic today and it has software version 27. I know the latest update was 18 and you had to be on 7 to get it. So I'm two updates behind and when I try to update my firmware it says it's up to date. Why can't I get these two updates. I read somewhere that they weren't being pushed anymore so how would I possibly update my software? Thank you for your help.

Apparently Sprint is pushing out a new update for all HTC EVO users.
3.30.651.3 FOTA update.
So check if you guys have it and see if anything changes.
Good luck
Waiting for someone else to be the guinea pig and see if unrEVOked works after installation.

No, it appears that this is only available for users who have software version of 3.30.651.2
"Note: This update is only for newer devices with initial software version of 3.30.651.2. If you are running a different version than this, you will not receive this update and do not need it.
This update fixes power cycling issue when accessing the camera through some applications, like Qik, on devices running version 3.30.651.2 only."

Tell Me If yOU cAN...Do The New Sprint Update 3.30.651.3 Affects UnrEVOked after installation????
I downloaded it a while ago. It's 6MB and when I installed it, I got the ! With the triangle. So I reported and never updated it. I'm using Unrevoked with Azrael 2.3 ROM.
So no update for me. Even though it still asks me to install it, I won't.

When the last OTA update hit I was unable to install over the air it until I replaced clockworkmod with the stock recovery. Maybe the same thing is occurring here?
it is just a patch 6.4Mb and the download link can be found in a logcat

Does it still have HBOOT 2.02?
I'll root it and post it when I get home from work in 4 hours.
if you're getting this update it sounds like you already have a newer evo that is a bit more difficult to root anyhow. unrevoked doesn't work on the phones that seem to be getting this update to begin with, i doubt it will break root any harder honestly.
i'm installing it, my phone reboots when running qik and i can't get root from unrevoked as it is.
i got notified by my evo today about the update, i chose against installing it too.
i installed 3.29 ota, rooted via unrevoked then used the update zip to get to 3.30 even though apparently we should not have been doing so.
update works great, qik now works, and the flashlight toggle on my toggles widget no longer reboots the phone either.
Same here tried update , Running clockwork and I have Azreal 2.41 running. After reboot Triangle.
Cold boot back and update failed.
Maybe someone would be so kind as to post this in a ZIP.
Thanks
Gin.
What time you get home from work? Cuz ill be waiting for that root..... lol

Go to phandroid
On the site there should be a topic about Epic's FroYo
The site will provide a link and instructions on how to get the update.
Hope this helps!

I'm waiting also, is there a way to force an OTA update?
I've been clicking update on the phone and it says 'your software is up to date' - i'm still at DI18

When I referenced the update in the dev section I was speaking of that one and apologize for the vagueness
I just picked up my nexus S about an hour ago and so far I love it. This is my first smartphone so I have some noob questions. If I want to install a 3rd party keyboard (like swype) how/ where do I do this? How do I update the os to the nexus s? If I hook it up to my computer is it automatically gonna start updating it or something? I am not sure that I want the gingerbread 2.3.3 update because I love the display as it is now and dont want it changed.
For swype, just Google swype beta and sign up. I believe registration is open right now. As far as updates, your phone will eventually prompt you if you want to update. If you choose yes, it will download the update to your phone and perform the update.

Even I have the same doubt, how will I be able to upgrade to 2.3.3?
You can manually update if you follow the guides in the development section. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the ovrr thr air update that they are in the process of pushing out right now. There's no way to determine when your device is marked to receive it. Could be minutes, hours, days.

you can manually push the update to 2.3.3 through recovery located here:

Hi all, Q&A forum wasn't much help. Perhaps you can shed some light for me.
I've been disconnected from the Epic community recently. Just the other day I found out about the official Froyo update, but my phone has never notified me about this. Also, when I go into settings to check for updates, it tells me there is none.
Everything tells me they are up to date; profile, firmware, and Android, but when I try to update the PRL it tells me I need to reset the radio. I have no idea what that means or if it's even relevant to why I cannot upgrade to 2.2.
How do I get my phone to update? I haven't been able to find anything in a search.
If it helps, my PRL version is 60676 and my firmware is 2.1-update 1.
Thanks for any help.
Update was pulled because it contain "bugs". Search for EB13 zip.exe ON HERE and you should find a mirror. Most users recommend using odin to install or factory reset 3 times then do the upgrade and you won't have any bugs. That's what I did. Their is a camera bug that is really bad but their is a fix in the development section. Search in there "EB13 camera patch".

I think what happend was that sprint pulled the OTA cuz of some issues. However u can use odin and download the .tar file here found in the development section and that should work with now issues or if u don't want to loose any data look for the update.zip in the dev section also. Sorry I can't give links cuz im on my phone but it shouldn't be to had to find good luck if u have more questions just pm me

Awesome, thanks for the help guys. Now I'm orientated with all this, I gotta avoid another prolonged absence here so I don't get so lost again.
i did the update through ODIN and it worked fine because the update was pulled
so far no issues
if u do the update with CW3 mod and EXT4 through ODIN, i don't believe the stock ROM will work
Any reason my phone didn't alert me when the update was available? It had always done that before with other updates (not market).

Its been a while since im been on the acer forums i havent needed to use my tablet much. What i need to know is I flashed the stock ics leak that happend months ago, im still stock on that leak.
1. Will I get the ota for ics?
2. When i get it can i just update with out problems?
Thanks for the help ppl.
Yes you can flash it, but you may have to jump through some hoops first.
info is kinda all over the place since ICS was released...but most of the info is on page one...so start reading...
I was stock Gen 2 and had no issues with the update process , no info was lost...
I was getting tired of waiting for the ICS update on my A500, and happened to be using the Google Play store. I searched for Acer, and found an update for the A500/A501 update service. Once I installed this update and rebooted, the next time I used the "Check for update" feature in settings, the update finally started.
