The basic reason of me askin ark666 & posting this build was the fact the it has quick wake from standby has a good batter support..!!!
Personally I have tried all builds [literally] but this 1 have me fastest response on touch + no screen freezes..!!!

+1 whats this

I know that Mdeejay doesn't own the name but he already has a "REVOlution" build. Since he did it first, might want to rethink the name. Just a thought

I tried this build yesterday, I couldnt find one thing different from M-deejays older 1.5 revolution build besides the font. It even has the same kernel he had in that build. Is there any difference?

You are saying that this have a working cam?

I dont think any builders are going to make anything "new" unless they get their hands on a new kernal or something from the develops first hand. Now everything works and its just minor kernal updates here and there. Jmo.

Is this RMNET or PPP?

So is this based on the Desire HD or the EVO 4 rom???
If it is the Desire HD then the camera working is a big win.

Quick guide to the ROMS + bases

People want summaries of the Android builds, so here we go:
1. For the most stable builds, pick the ones which are simpy Froyo 2.2 based, or based on the cyanogen mod (CM6) without sense, and are usually based on builds for the Google Nexus.
2. Then you have froyo + sense. now there are different versions of sense out there and froyo. you have the 'supersonic' over the air update which made it 2.2.1 versus the original 2.2. FRG** and FRF** denote different versions of android core.
Following that you have all the ones which are (usually) based on 2.2.1 android....BUT...the magical sauce is in the sense build they use. Unlike WM with 2018 and 2016 etc for sense we now have a few variants as defined by the phone they run on:
2a) Desire
2b) Evo (sense build: 3.29.651.5)
2c) Desire HD roms (sense build: 1.24.405.1)
2d) Desire Z (1.22.405.1)
2e) Lexicon ()
Lexicon seems to be a quick sense build, BUT things like compass and gsensor and camera dont seem to work.
Desire Z seems to be visually nicer, almost as nippy, much newer....but the font sizes are not optimised for the HD2 - the PPI is too low and fonts bigger - i.e. you see less on the screen at the time. same gsensor, camera and compass issues as above.
Desire HD builds are the biggest resource hogs...but nevertheless remain fast if you have a taskkiller and are visually the most stunning. same gsensor and compass and camera issues as above. Having used this more extensively I can also confirm that I get data disconnects (which plague all recent builds), but the HTC reader does not work, and the HTC locations/latitude does not work fully. HTC hub etc works fine tho.
Evo - more stable and more fully featured than any of the above, but not quite as quick nor as pretty. also font scaling not as good as on Desire HD rom. Data disconnects still on this build. Has voice activiation/dialing with long send key.
Desire - the oldest set of builds - or was it HTC ACE/bravo??/ I can't quite remember. very stable, but not very quick. I think this came with voice dialing activated with long send key.
I am using the Desire HD based mdeejay ROM 24/7 now. seems very good. I don't like the gmail email app tho...fortunately I dont need the camera. I get no music stuttering. BT works perfectly (stereo+mono), as does GPS. Voice search/commands work when you launch the app, but it does not seem to be triggered by a long send...can't remember if voice command works triggered from BT headset.
It does use more battery than WM - I barely get two days solid use whereas I used to get a solid 3 on WM only. I have installed setcpu and run it quite aggressively with my own settings to really get the most out of the battery. Without setcpu mdeejay's desire HD build would often run at 1138Mhz constantly.....
Also remember that not only do the builds differ in terms of Android build, and sense build (if included), but often come with different kernels - such as by hastarin, michyprima and the more stock ones based on the zimage database maintained by the htc-linux team. The kernel will usually determine what works and what doesn't.
Hope this helps.
Setcpu settings r same for rach build. Or u use different
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I run it much more aggressively than set in most builds. I use the conservative and powersave clock governor settings and have it staged at different battery %ages and whether the screen is on or off to adjust the min and max cpu speeds.
Nice summary man, thanks!

Simply put: KERNEL is a model, different designer put different clothes on her, its still her.
We have two models, Nexus one base, and Evo base model
thanks for this summary!!! it is really helpfull info you provided here.
I will try mdeejay Desire HD build. Currently I have Darkstone Froyo Stone 3.1, but battery life is horrible for me. Even with Set Cpu, Task Killer and JuiceDefender I can't make a day... and I barely use my device during a day...
Thank-you! I've been going through builds like I'm bar-hopping on a Saturday nite. This will definitely help with settling down.
I'm looking for a working camera, minimal or skip-free music, yahoo mail linkability, and Facebook contact linking. Everything else I can compromise.

Now this is clear, I hope the devs will kinda keep us informed about which version they're using
As I'm having serious battery issues (using setcpu and all) I'll try Froyo 2.2 or cyanogen mod.

Camera is working on most "EVO" builds, for example - it works on ALL OF THESE:
* Core Droid Froyo /EVO Sense v0.7 (14.11.2010) by Sergio76
* Erick's Evo v0.2 (11.4.2010) by erick1026
* eVo Carbon Remix v0.3 (Nov.16.10) by motoman234
* HyperDroidSense v1.1 (09.29.2010)by pongster
* mattc EvoLeo v1.0.1 (21.09.2010) by spimonkey34
* mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense v1.8 (21.09.2010) Version: v1.8
by spimonkey34
* Mdeejay eVo Sense v2.3 rEVOlution (27.10.10) by m-deejay
* Mdeejay FroYo G v1.0 (08.10.10) by m-deejay
* phireMOD SkinnyEVO v1.7 (05.Nov.10) Version: v1.7
by phiredrop
And those were just the ones I could find quickly
I think maybe you meant builds based on Desire HD and/or Desire Z?
Or maybe you were referring to Non-5 MegaPixel Builds (Most if not all of the above offer a 5 MP Camera, and most have fixed the premature flash issue as well.
As for me, I have been harping for weeks on getting a "Sense HD" build with a working camera (by which I mean the new Sense included on Desire HD and Desire Z - That which has the preview screens for Scenes, Themes, Wallpaper etc., PLUS offer a connection to htcsense.com hub (works really well, if still a bit light on content. WHY on earth HTC decided this new Sense ("Sense HD" is the only name I have it referred as) would not be added to other models retroactively is a mystery, but could possiblyhave something to do with new phone sales (duh) or perhaps wanting to ramp up the htcsense hub without it being bombarded with hits & downloads of themes.
Whatever - just SOMEONE... PLEASE... GET a SENSE HD build with a working camera going - it's my "Xmas wish" LOL!

Does anyone have an EVO build with hastarin's 8.3 kernel with a working camera.. without that black screen?

Best Desire build to HTC HD2

Hello..
I am struggelig to find a build that really work om my HD2.
I have tried severeal, and some work for a week or 2 then starts craching.
Some drain battery, even if I have used SetCPU and disabled Live Wallpaper.
Can someone please guide me in the right direction, where I can find a Android build (Based on Desire and Hastarin - Preferation) that works, looks nice and that has good performance..
Any news on direct Android boot?
- Looking forward to that.
I'm not returning to Windows 6.5 - ever.....
I have [build][1.12.2010][beta] desire hd2 - everythings goes verywell

only way I noticed the same crashing was :
1 ) Block size of your SD card formatting , whether its 32kb or 64kb. 32k on my 16GB has been most stable
2 ) Kernel. Changing default kernel to Hastarin has never crashed for me since.

The most stable Android build? Less bugs, not laggy?

Hey all,
i wanted to know which build you prefer and which build the most stable one is. im searching for a version with less bugs. i want a non laggy version. can somebody help?
the ram versions are far away from being stable right?
what about the hd versions? have they much bugs?
I love to know this too. I want stable and not care much of nice animation. i think you will get different answer because i don't think anyone know what the best out there. You will have to try different one to see which one work for you best. Every single one out there will the different issue you might run into? The good thing are alot of developer actively working on these rom for FREE. That really nice of them. I really appreciate all the hard work.
The common response to this question is that it's really about personal preference at this point. There may be some small features not working in each build but I can't say that any of them have any particular major flaws unless it's a "work in progress" build like Gingerbread MyTouch4G or whatever. I recommend bookmarking this http://android.hd2roms.com/ and get a better idea of the different Roms and see which are staying updated or w/e. I like to have 2 types of Roms, a Stock-like or Cyanogen-based and a Sense-themed. Of these types, I have found the following to be particularly good for me:
- Cyanogen-based: HD2ONE (all though he is not developing any longer, this one should be solid for a long time.. my personal favorite) - JDMS (could easily replace HD2ONE for me if JDMS stays in the game and keeps new Cyanogen builds rotating in and doing the testing\tweaking for us)
- Sense-themed: MDJ Froyo HD (I'm most impressed with MDJ's commitment to keeping his roms up to date. Sense based are often bulky so I have to overclock them a tad but MDJ compensates by undervolting nicely)
- Stock-like: Darkstone SuperRam (I may be biased for Darkstone's builds but this one loads super quick) - NexusHD2 (Solid and Slick... nothing wrong with this one)
- Experimental: MDJ Gingerbread (Really looking forward to the last couple things to get ironed out on this build)
So yeah, there are 6 right there that I use. Which one I use the most is kinda hard to say. I currently bounce between HD2ONE and MDJ FroyoHD. I use Excellar boot loader and just customize my Rom names and just reboot in each and play/test them all for speed/stability/functionality at my leisure. I just load up my card like this and figure out what works for me the most:
/HD2ONE
/MDJFroyoHD
/SuperRAM
/JDMS
/NexusHD2
Bottom-Line... all of them are excellent, have fun and try each on. And don't be afraid to try something new. A lot of new guys are trying to get their stuff out there for us and need testers and feedback to help them perfect it. Sorry for being long winded, there really is no simple answer. They are all good!
For me its MDJ Revolution HD v.1.2 with hastarin 8.6 kernel
Its apsolutly fast, stable and good looking. I have tried almoust all versions and this one is definitly winner for me.
I vote for option A - Try them all and see which one you like best.
Mdeejay Sense Clean 2.3 build as posted in Mdeejay thread by Hastarin. It has Hastarin kernel 8.53b included but you can update to 8.6. It's totally stable and I haven't found anything to replace it.

The other is addressed in my post; it's a light that stays on that's supposed to be used only during call.

[workaround] video recording workaround for v4.x.x

So far, this video recording workaround has only been tested on HTC Desire with:
- [ROM] CyanogenMod007 (JB 4.1.2 | Int2Ext+ | A2Ext+) [STOCK | CM7] [v08 | 15/03/13] inspired by vijendrahs
- [ROM/4.2.2] [March 13 2013] VJ CM10.1 | Jelly Bean 4.2.2 - v5.3
Installed free app 'Videocam illusion' v1.5
Only change needed from default app installation was adjusting the audio setting in the app from 48khz to 44.1khz
My HTC Desire video recordings are now as good as it was during its Froyo days. (At least as far as my memory serves me)
Here is the 'Videocam illusion' v1.5 app link:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...1pbGx1c2lvbiJd
Hopefully this works for all 4.x.x ROMs.
Please post your ROM if it works for your HTC Desire.
As you already said yourself,
Only change needed from default app installation was adjusting the audio setting in the app from 48khz to 44.1khz.
I'm gonna test that tomorrow on VJ's Android 4.2.2 v5.3 ROM, see how it works out.
Thanks mate !

Don't want to be to negative but this isn't really new, I have known this for like a month or so.. (read it in comment by somebody else..) But still, does it need it's own thread in dev section..? Why not post it in VJ's thread or so.. Maybe he can include it in 1st post..
Again, no harm meant, I understand you want everybody to know this.. But not that big of news.. (at least I think)

Tested on "[ROM][PRE-ALPHA] Jelly Bean 4.2.2 - Pre-alpha 1 [14.02.13]" working well, thank you!
Tested on VJ's Android 4.2.2 v5.3 ROM and it DOES NOT work.
I've tried in a well illuminated room and maxed up to 11 frames/s but in the weird default resolution that is 480x300.
When I changed to 640x480, the speed decreased to 5-6 frames/s.
So this is nothing similar to the Gingerbread ROMs or QISS ROM results.
I've tried to remove multithread optimization and the high priority but those options did not help neither.

Tested with [MAR 07][4.2.2] PARANOIDANDROID v3.10b2 | PIE | Batt% | ALL NEW EDT. Works only in default resolution, otherwise i got green screen and fc´s.

I've tried to remove multithread optimization and the high priority but those options did not help neither.

last time i tried VJ android 4.2 .. i had same result as above.. while video illusion is better than stock camera for video recording (i think it's because it is doing it in software mode something), it is still far from being as good as qiss rom or gingerbread roms.
ok i again tested it on VJ cm10.1 latest version (today) and no this does not give stable video recording.. it lags like hell
I wonder if other settings are in play here.
For example, In all ROMs that I have tried, I always change my cache from 128 to 3072.
This workaround also works on VJ's 4.1.2 v3.0
