Camera is working on most "EVO" builds, for example - it works on ALL OF THESE:
* Core Droid Froyo /EVO Sense v0.7 (14.11.2010) by Sergio76
* Erick's Evo v0.2 (11.4.2010) by erick1026
* eVo Carbon Remix v0.3 (Nov.16.10) by motoman234
* HyperDroidSense v1.1 (09.29.2010)by pongster
* mattc EvoLeo v1.0.1 (21.09.2010) by spimonkey34
* mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense v1.8 (21.09.2010) Version: v1.8
by spimonkey34
* Mdeejay eVo Sense v2.3 rEVOlution (27.10.10) by m-deejay
* Mdeejay FroYo G v1.0 (08.10.10) by m-deejay
* phireMOD SkinnyEVO v1.7 (05.Nov.10) Version: v1.7
by phiredrop
And those were just the ones I could find quickly
I think maybe you meant builds based on Desire HD and/or Desire Z?
Or maybe you were referring to Non-5 MegaPixel Builds (Most if not all of the above offer a 5 MP Camera, and most have fixed the premature flash issue as well.
As for me, I have been harping for weeks on getting a "Sense HD" build with a working camera (by which I mean the new Sense included on Desire HD and Desire Z - That which has the preview screens for Scenes, Themes, Wallpaper etc., PLUS offer a connection to htcsense.com hub (works really well, if still a bit light on content. WHY on earth HTC decided this new Sense ("Sense HD" is the only name I have it referred as) would not be added to other models retroactively is a mystery, but could possiblyhave something to do with new phone sales (duh) or perhaps wanting to ramp up the htcsense hub without it being bombarded with hits & downloads of themes.
Whatever - just SOMEONE... PLEASE... GET a SENSE HD build with a working camera going - it's my "Xmas wish" LOL!
Well.. i'm using MdeeJay's rEVOlution 2.3 build.. with hastarins 8.3.. 'nd of course with the new HTCCamera.apk and the libraries.. still isn't working..
I'm so confused that no one is working on a fix for it.

because you're the only one having this problem.
I use that kernel and replaced the modules and libraries and camera works fine for me.
I'm not that stupid...
Does anyone have an EVO build with hastarin's 8.3 kernel with a working camera.. without that black screen?

Put the libs on the SD card root then do the G script using g script lite from market as it says. Once this is done restart and hey presto.

hey guys, I want to know whitch is your favorite androidrelease for the HD2.
I had just shubCRAFTS release jet, was really nice but i had lags all the time. so i will try another.
as far as i see, there are about 6 mainreleases, so tell which u like most and why.
usually darkstone are the best for me, but right now shubCRAFTS 1.4
mattc 1.5b for me.... tried a few others including mattc nexusLeo, but it turns out i actually like/want sense
Recently I used to have darkstones builds on my phone. But since shubcrafts new build for the first time has no freeze issues at all, +1 shubcraft
I have been using, Xcelsior's Android FroYo V1.00, gives me the best battery life and smoothest scrolling.
I think you need to try them all to find out, everyone will say different things
Always been a big fan of shubCRAFT builds 1.2 was his best-just tryin out 1.4 at the mo,quite impressed so far. A close second comes darkstone v2. Wished there was a new dan build out but he's busy workin on libs at the moment, but his was the first in my eyes that worked.
darkstone for speed, mms working on TMOUS, stability and stock froyo look. I like my builds with a little none-sense in them . (see what I did there...)
mattc 1.5b
mattc 1.5b Like Sense
xcelsior for me
mattc 1.5b +1
best built (with Sense) at the moment!
I am using xcelsior atm, it is best I have used so far. Have not tried the latest incarnation of mattc yet though.
Xcelsior's Android FroYo V1.00 .... period.
I use the mattc's 1.5b. I tkink its the best Android out now. Works very smoothly

Just to get my thoughts in before the thread closes (It seems its another version of "What's the best ROM thread?" IMHO)
I have darkstone's, mattc's and shub's all together and choose to use what I feel like depending on what I want to test
mattc's NexusLeo v1 for me !
ShubCraft Serie
I'm a ShubCraft's fan since v1.1! every build is clean, simply, fast and also has a good look.

today, I change to mattc's new version 1.5b.
thx
ive been trying to find a stable build but the only one ive found where the g sensor didnt cause freezes was a sense one. im using one stock froyo that said it was fixed but im still getting freezes. ive been looking through the dev section but it seems theyre all sense with the new fixes. any recs?
exactly what I would like to see also, to many sense builds around imo

I think you just need to replace the kernel with michyprima's, hastarin's or huanyu's Evo kernels.
PS: Can anyone actually tell me which builds totally eliminates freezes? I'm using mattc's Evo build and it still occasionally freezes.

I'm using your build with the same kernel too for a several days and I still have got freezes. Especially when I play games that make use of the G-Sensor.

Yeah, I tried that build and I think it might just be not as bad. It doesn't seem to freeze as much as it did before.
I'm using michyprima's r0 Evo base, hastarin's 4.1 still froze a bit though.

I know that Mdeejay doesn't own the name but he already has a "REVOlution" build. Since he did it first, might want to rethink the name. Just a thought
I tried this build yesterday, I couldnt find one thing different from M-deejays older 1.5 revolution build besides the font. It even has the same kernel he had in that build. Is there any difference?

You are saying that this have a working cam?
I dont think any builders are going to make anything "new" unless they get their hands on a new kernal or something from the develops first hand. Now everything works and its just minor kernal updates here and there. Jmo.
Is this RMNET or PPP?

So is this based on the Desire HD or the EVO 4 rom???
If it is the Desire HD then the camera working is a big win.

15th November 2010 -Welcome to phireMOD Vision!
Based off official RUU 1.34.405.5
I will not be updating this build any longer. Please use phireMOD Ace linked in my signature if you wish to use the newest sense on your HD2. Thanks to everyone for your support!
What’s the difference between this and SkinnyEVO?
HTC Vision (or Desire Z) has many visual changes over the Evo sense roms. A few of the differences you’ll notice are flipping animations with the clock, fading transitions between programs, and the ability to apply skins (themes) to your phone from right inside of Sense. There are many other minor graphical changes, and a few functional ones such as “Recent Apps” showing in your notification bar.
This build is multilanguage.
What doesn’t work
Ereader
Camera/Camcorder
Live Wallpapers
Navigation is glitchy
Install Notes
You may encounter odd flickering of the boot animation and then a black screen. If this is the case, just wait longer, it is still booting.
Please change to a static wallpaper first thing!
Huge thanks to
football for the ROM

love the new desire-hd and desire-z builds, not enough of them here i think..
just a question- does this build sync with htcsense.com or not ?
great to see another new generation sense build
.
Great to have up-to-date Desire Z/HD build.
Does anyone know if any dev's working on camera? I've seen some active work few weeks ago, but not recently.
I do like the release, but the fact is the ereader and navigation problem, make me wait for an othe release, but your work is appreciated as i'm big fan of hastarin kernel
Great job on this man, always good to see more Z and HD ROM's.

Thanks for the build/share. I would also like to see more of these roms posted around here. Did a quick search and did not find any others besides yours. Then again, forum searches have not always been my friend
update:
build does sync with htcsenseDOTcom. Ask for your information/register account at the android phone setup.
Thanks Phire for this rom. I am currently using your beautiful themed Evo 1.7 rom. I am so happy to see that you have now cooked a Desire HD/Z rom. I know when the HD/Z rom is fully functional I will be moving to use it as my daily rom in place of the evo rom. And certainly I will be sticking with your roms. I am really looking forward to the fix for the htc eReader and the the camera. I love the htc reader so much so that i keep on booting to windows whenever am reading books instead of using the readers availabel in android market.
I have a personal request. Is it possible sir to cook a themed HD Desire rom similar to the themed Evo 1.7. I so much love the themed evo rom such that stock sense looks like something the cat dragged in......
By the way boss is it possible to install the theme separately or it must be cooked into the rom? I have in mind something like the GTX theme for winmo which can be installed as a cab.....
phiredrop,
I am using your great EVO1.7. Do you will continue update that serials?
Jackie

I also changed the Kernel to Hastarin 8.2UVOC and setCPU to "on demand" and now it works very well and fast.
So far I found two little bugs, not clear where they came from:
- On home screen, after wake-up, something is flickering, i guess it's the weather animation, but it's not quite visible
- A transparent bar appeared at the bottom of the home screen(and other screens), when I started playing music.
The camera is not working right?
No the camera is not working yet. When it is- you will hear a lot of happy yelling al over the xda community
Love the new sence but my own experience tells me that these roms are not as fast and smooth as mdj's eVo builds etc.. on the other hand: will keep an eye on this one more feedbacks!
Keep up the good work!
Nice build. So far seems to work just fine. It`s great to see that HD build is not ded Thanks a lot!
Great job! Thanks a lot of your effort!

Hey all,
i wanted to know which build you prefer and which build the most stable one is. im searching for a version with less bugs. i want a non laggy version. can somebody help?
the ram versions are far away from being stable right?
what about the hd versions? have they much bugs?
I love to know this too. I want stable and not care much of nice animation. i think you will get different answer because i don't think anyone know what the best out there. You will have to try different one to see which one work for you best. Every single one out there will the different issue you might run into? The good thing are alot of developer actively working on these rom for FREE. That really nice of them. I really appreciate all the hard work.
The common response to this question is that it's really about personal preference at this point. There may be some small features not working in each build but I can't say that any of them have any particular major flaws unless it's a "work in progress" build like Gingerbread MyTouch4G or whatever. I recommend bookmarking this http://android.hd2roms.com/ and get a better idea of the different Roms and see which are staying updated or w/e. I like to have 2 types of Roms, a Stock-like or Cyanogen-based and a Sense-themed. Of these types, I have found the following to be particularly good for me:
- Cyanogen-based: HD2ONE (all though he is not developing any longer, this one should be solid for a long time.. my personal favorite) - JDMS (could easily replace HD2ONE for me if JDMS stays in the game and keeps new Cyanogen builds rotating in and doing the testing\tweaking for us)
- Sense-themed: MDJ Froyo HD (I'm most impressed with MDJ's commitment to keeping his roms up to date. Sense based are often bulky so I have to overclock them a tad but MDJ compensates by undervolting nicely)
- Stock-like: Darkstone SuperRam (I may be biased for Darkstone's builds but this one loads super quick) - NexusHD2 (Solid and Slick... nothing wrong with this one)
- Experimental: MDJ Gingerbread (Really looking forward to the last couple things to get ironed out on this build)
So yeah, there are 6 right there that I use. Which one I use the most is kinda hard to say. I currently bounce between HD2ONE and MDJ FroyoHD. I use Excellar boot loader and just customize my Rom names and just reboot in each and play/test them all for speed/stability/functionality at my leisure. I just load up my card like this and figure out what works for me the most:
/HD2ONE
/MDJFroyoHD
/SuperRAM
/JDMS
/NexusHD2
Bottom-Line... all of them are excellent, have fun and try each on. And don't be afraid to try something new. A lot of new guys are trying to get their stuff out there for us and need testers and feedback to help them perfect it. Sorry for being long winded, there really is no simple answer. They are all good!
For me its MDJ Revolution HD v.1.2 with hastarin 8.6 kernel
Its apsolutly fast, stable and good looking. I have tried almoust all versions and this one is definitly winner for me.
I vote for option A - Try them all and see which one you like best.
Mdeejay Sense Clean 2.3 build as posted in Mdeejay thread by Hastarin. It has Hastarin kernel 8.53b included but you can update to 8.6. It's totally stable and I haven't found anything to replace it.
