[Q] Unrevoked-Problem - Wildfire General

I have installed all the correct drivers for windows, but when I try to run Unrevoked it just sits at the ''Waiting for device. Plug phone in now.. etc''
even when i plug My HTC Wildfire in with debugging on, it still doesnt do anything, i did have the The recovery before, but after the update it has got rid of it. Can anyone help??
Thanks in advance.

This worked for me.
1. Install HTC Sync
2. Uninstall the HTC Sync program but not the drivers
3. Install the HBOOT drivers
4. Unrevoke

[Q] usb connection problem ...

hi there,
before i flashed my new htc magic i had normal usb connection. adb and fastboot worked fine.
but now i have flashed the new hboot (Engineering SPL 1.33.2004) and a new rom (BeatMod AOSP 2.2.1). when i connect my phone the power led turns on but no usb connection! in the device manager error code (43) UNKNOWN DEVICE. searched the forum and dr.google but till now no anwer found.
i tried to flash back to factory default rom, with NHB method, still no usb connection...
so pls, is there something i missed till flashing or is just my usb port crasched?
beside, FASTBOOT works fine!
thx in advance.

Have you tried reinstalling HTC Sync along with the drivers?

yep, no chance that my device is recognized. downloaded the x86 and x64 drivers for android. but the UNKNOWN DEVICE dont let me install it.... im really
Last time I had that problem I had to uninstall everything android-related, use USBDeview to remove all android devices and start from scratch.
You say you flashed the official nbh and it still doesn't work? Did the flashing work fine?

[Q] Returning to original firmware (HTC Magic)

Hi,
I have a HTC Magic (32A)(Rogers) with some custom Hero firmware. Since I bought the phone used with it I don't exactly know what firmware this is, but it's 1.5 Android.
As there is an official 2.1 firmware for the Rogers HTC Magic I would like to that one rather than another custom firmware.
I have installed HTC Sync and the official firmware .exe install. It recognizes the phone to be correct (even though it has a Hero rom on it) and wants to reboot the phone for the install. However that pops up the fastloader with "RUU USB" in orange. None of the buttons allow me to select that or do anything else and after a while the installer just times out.
Do you guys know how I can get around that fastloader issue?
Many thanks in advance!

At this link do the part titled "Enabling the Windows 7 automatic driver update" then plug the phone into a USB port with fastboot loaded.
-or-
Follow these steps, the phone should show up under "Other devices" in Device Manager.
EDIT: Wrong forum for this topic BTW. This should be posted in General.
I managed to get the driver installed, but the official RUU installer won't find the phone when it's in the fastboot USB. What am I doing wrong?
I'm trying to use the offical RUU installer from the HTC website. Is that even possible?

[170] USB Connection Error

I tried to root my Magic however it has perfected SPL 1.76.2008 so I tried the goldcard method but I only managed to change the firmware from 1.6 to 1.5. I cannot use fastboot so now I'm trying to install a new RUU so that I can follow the steps to install CM however I get the USB error (on windows 7).
I already tried reinstalling the latest HTC Sync and that seems to recognise my phone but when I open the Setup for RUU, Sync doesnt recognise it anymore until I close setup and replug USB. And yes, I inserted the goldcard already. Any help is appreciated.
I have pretty much the same problem here, but I do not have a goldcard (which I dont thing its necessary). When I try to transfer some file to my phone, it starts and after a couple of seconds, unplug from storage mode (Robot turns green again :[ ).
I have Cyanogenmod 6.1.0-DS and Windows 7 32bit.
Even over wifi, this happens. Seems to me thats some storage problem with the rom, but cyanogenmod is widely used and tested.
Can someone help us?
Debugging on?
Of course, I followed every single step correctly maybe theres a problem with windows 7.

On linux now and had forgotten this. Reread everything from the beginning and recalled that I've had issues with the drivers from HTC Sync driver not working when I had downgraded my G1.
The "official" google sdk driver covers all builds and modes (RUU uses adb mode.) Maybe try reinstalling with them instead?
Kind Regards,
Kevin

Help cannot get active sync

Hello I am trying to get active sync to work but when i go into the bootloader and plug in the usb windows installs the driver for the sync from htc i really need to install magldr 1.13 but i cannot get past the driver any ideas
thanks in advance
You do not need active sync. If you want to install MAGLDR just start bootloader and flash from there Hold Volume Down while starting the phone you will get the TriColored screen plug the phone into computer at the bottom of the phone it will say USB then click ROMUpdateUtility in the MAGLDR folder you downloaded. If the phone doesnt say USB try a different USB port
cannot sync in bootloader

I am going to try on a different computer this afternoon. But I tried Everything you said Got to the bootloader just fine i even tried running the ROMupdateutility as admin. It gets to the progress bar just after you click update and then comes back with a usb error. I cannot seem to figure what the problem is other than my driver is not working properly. so i tried to uninstall the driver and it keeps reinstalling the htc usb sync driver form the windows update. like i said ill try it on a different computer and see if that works. thanks for your reply though.
Yes the problem is in your computer. It happened same with my laptop an computer. I formated and installed fresh copy of windows on the laptop. Now it is O.K.
thanks alot that was i thought about doing but...... I have Like a terrabyte to backup
First try reinstalling ActiveSync and try using a different usb port (preferably one at the back of the pc). Boot into bootloader and connect to pc, you need to see "usb" displayed on the phone screen.
You need active sync from ms. Not from htc. It's the soft provided by ms to sync wm devices. Normally it's downloaded when you connect your device. Check if windows try to install the driver. After you will also need the adb driver. For this one you need the android sdk.

Which version of the Aria do you have? The AT&T version has an HBOOT of 0.57 which is rootable. The official AT&T update upgrades the HBOOT to version 1.02 which is not rootable.
What version of Android do you have on this Aria? If you have Android 2.2, then chances are this Aria has been upgraded and the HBOOT version may be preventing you from rooting it.
0.57 ver.
..
install HTC Sync, then uninstall it. the program will be removed, but it leaves the required ADB drivers for proper communication.
also plug in while the phone is powered on, then run unrEVOked as admin. if it doesn't read the phone after about ten seconds close the program and re-start.
if still no go, try looking for an older version of unrEVOked
