[Q] Unbricking Hero? - Hero, G2 Touch General

A Hero is about to get to my hands, but reports state that it is bricked. I don't know the phone's history yet, but it appears that the phone went off during a update.
What happens:
- fastboot recognizes it when connected to PC.
- it is possible to charge the phone.
- doing the VolUp power thing, the phone vibrates three times and the green LED turns on.
Is this unbrickable? If so, how?

Yep, should be fixable by running a HTC RUU with the phone hooked up to a pc .

[Q] HELP!!! Please read HD2 WONT CHARGE / SYNC

I looked through similar threads but have found no solutions.....
My TMOUS HTC HD2 randomly stopped charging, even when plugged into a wall charger or computer. No orange light even displaying when hooked into the charger when powered off. I have bought a new battery and charger and still doesn't work.... Whats weird is that there is usb connectivity (only using MAGLDR v1.1 with an android NAND android rom installed in usb android flasher mode). I am guessing this is a hardware issue so i am trying to return it to stock, the only problem is that windows mobile device center 6.1 x64 on my windows 7 desktop will not recognize/sync with my HD2..
I would like to return it to stock so i can send it into HTC for repairs (if possible)
I would really appreciate any possible help
hold the volume down button when turning it on. You should see a screen with 3 colors. At that point, you can flash stock.
I have done this but the only problem is that the computer wont recognize it and the phone stays in "serial mode".
Any thoughts?

Hard Bricked my phone

I already posted this in Q&A, but I thought it would get noticed more in this section.
Ok I believe my phone is "Hard Bricked", because it doesn't power up at all. The Green led light will show if i take the battery out and plug it into the computer. This happened as was trying to start the process to unlock my bootloader. I was using RSDlite, loading the "zomgunlock" sbf file, put my phone into rsd mode plugged it in, pressed start and next thing i know it turned off and won't turn back on. Can someone help me?

Was it low on charge?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
No its not from a low charge, it was on already 80%
Oh, does your phone get recognized when plugged into a cp?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
no it doesn't seem to be recognized, i tried doing the combos green led light on (volume up + power , etc.)
But the phone stays off?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
It stays off unless I take the battery out of the phone and hook it to the computer, that is when I get the green light indicator
Hi,
I am a NOOB but was reading another post that had a similar problem. Not sure how to make a link to it.
The issue the other fellow had was that when he plugged in to the USB port it was actually draining his battery rather than charging it.
There are specific drivers on the Moto website that you need for the computer to charge the phone.
The short way around it is to charge at the wall.
The title of the post I am referencing is "[SOLVED] Atrix will not power on, green light flashes, plugged in and.... nothing!" initially posted 24th Feb 2011 last post was today.
If your issue is more complicated than this then I apologise for wasting your time.
Worst case no further harm done.
I'm pretty sure my battery is pretty good atm but I'll try anything to get my atrix working again
That happened to me when I was trying to flash the unlock bootloader for mine. I'm using the Atrix on Orange running on U4_4.2.0. Completely bricked with the same green light but nothing happening. Told Orange and got a new one luckyly, next day!
Yea well im on my second from at&t bcuz of a hardware problem, unless I'm able to get a third one. .i ned to find out how to fix this, and the battery charger method didn't work for me

USB port on a computer won't drain a connected device. Problem there was he was trying to charge a drained battery on USB 2.0 which doesn't supply enough power to charge properly. The solution to his problem was to charge with the proper Motorola AC wall charger.
Yea I know but I tried the fixes anyway since there was no harm
If it's an AT&T phone take it to a repair center and they will replace it if its less than 1 year old. You don't even need the crappy insurance.
I thought it's only me
I have same problem, googled it 2 days ago - noboday else reported it
same problem - flashed the unlock-able boot-loader - phone turn off, and died...
I progressed a bit more - after replacing battery with a fully charged one, just to find out it's not a battery issue - I prepared the "special cable" - pin 4 connected to VCC.
now - my phone does recognize my phone, as "APX". after providing drivers found in google - it now recognized as "NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices".
it doesn't really help, as RSDlite is still not recognizing it, and using NVflash - i get only errors...
I know - i didn't really helped to solve the problem, as I'm "stuck" with it too, just wanted to share my effort...

[Q] HELP!!! mytouch 4g went into comatose...

my phone just simply went useless after a drained battery more or less a week from now... it wasnt like that before until the most recent update from froyo to gingerbread that my phone just doesnt function or power up after connecting the charger... all it does now is.... if you press the power button itself, it vibrates 3 times then the LED blinks orange and thats it.... if you press power + vol. up, it vibrates 5 times and the LED lights up green. and when connected to my laptop with the orange LED blinking, it is recognized as a USB mass storage device. with the green LED on, it is recognized as "android phone'' - ''adb android interface."
i tried adb but always error no device found or list of devices attached empty/blank... can i still revive my phone???? help please......
Did you try power + volume down? That would get you into bootloader. When you are in there, connect your phone to the computer and download a stock gingerbread ROM and place it on your SD. Rename it to PD15IMG.zip Then the phone will recognize the name and update. Good luck. Thanks if I helped
did that alreaDy.... if i press power + vol. down, my phone just vibrates 5x and the LED lights up green while the screen remains black....
Did you put it on life support? lol jk.
If I helped, give thanks, if you please.

Based on what you said, if device is plugged in that adb doesnt recognize it as well as not being able to boot into bootloader I would say that if you are still able to warranty the device with tmo that you better do it soon and let them know that the problem started right after you received the OTA GB update. They shouldnt take any issue if they beleive it may somehow have been caused by them.

I agree.
Here are some other options to try. Use the charger and cable that came with the phone and fully charge your battery (if charged already let it die and recharge). Remove battery for about ten minutes and then retry to boot up. If none of this works then you are SOL. Just take it back to tmo and tell them this occurred after the update like eqjunkie has said.

You said your phone's battery was drained to zero for a week, and after that the device won't start? Therefore it might be a battery related problem. Could you try replacing it with another one? There's a lot of them on the market, and they cost not that much.
Btw Mt4G uses the same battery type as HTC Thunderbolt.

[Q] - HTC HD2 Cannot power on.

First off, yes I have searched the other threads, but no one has had the same problem.
I got this phone from a co-worker who is not very tech savy, his friend tried to do something to it, but he messed up somehow and now the phone is screwed.
My problem:
The phone occasionally does not start up. It has successfully started up a few times, but when I go take the battery out to power off, it does not start up again afterwards. I have noticed that the pins are a little bent, but it is still making contact with the battery
I have tried another battery, and got the same results.
Also, another side question, when it does power on, it displays an RGB screen. (SPL 2.10.0000). It does not get recognized when plugged into my computer, how do I make this phone usable again?

Try another cable. it should show serial or usb when connected to a computer
At least you still have the SPL RGB screen, at first I thought it was bricked. Hold the Volume Down key down and try to power it on and try to connect it.

[Q] Help Nexus 4 crashed no response

LG nexus 4
I don't know what happened. but I was running cyanogen mod 10.2 M1 snapshot. Tried to flash googy max 1.7.8 via rom manager and the flash failed, no big deal but when attempting to reboot the phone never turned on. Shows red light and will blink if I hold in the power button while it is connected to a charger.
other than that it does nothing at all.
sucks. I have tried every button combination and disconnected the battery and reconnected. to no avail.
when connecting to computer the computer recognizes "something" but I can not access the phone at all. When holding in power button acts like it disconnects then connects then red light blinks then disconnects again.
Will connect when I just plug it into computer with Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008.
Is there anything more I can do? Aside from buying a new phone? :crying:
Google red light of death. Do your homework. There's loads of help on this.

Let it charge for a few hours/overnight, then boot into the bootloader (volume down+power). Once in the bootloader select 'Start'.

Ok I will let it charge over night but so far I can NOT get into boot-loader. That is what makes me so worried.
