Simple question how many of you guys are exchanging the g2 for a new or because of the loose hinge, memory issue, or both issues in one phone?
Side note my brother exchanged his cause his kept rebooting and had no touch response at times.... got the new one has loose hinge and mem issue (his one we reutrned had all and rebooted)

There's already a thread about this.

There is NO memory issue, that is the way the phone was made. Do people even bother reading now a days?
Sorry for the smart assness, but how many times do we have to read about this?

Yes I understand that its built in that way but my phone say internal mem of .99gb and when I see reports of 2.5 or higher and people saying they don't have a loose hinge makes me wonder if I should exchange mine.
Also sorry about a repost but I did not see a thread asking for a tally of how many people are exchanging

I LOVE MY G2.
no hinge problems. fastest phone i've ever owned. android 2.2. tethering. it's just an overall sexy device.
anyone else feel this way?
I totally agree, coming from a blackberry, I couldnt be happier that I made the switch

Im not crazy about the hinge design. Its a poor design... Ive used dozens of them and theyre all essentially the same. Compared to the G1 hinge its a downgrade. But I agree with everything else you said. Really enjoying my G2 and Froyo.

i've seen alot of people complaining about the hinge. saying its flimsy and poor made. but i've honestly had no problems with mine.
I seen a demo unit and the hinge wouldn't lock and it would freely open. the sales person picked up the phone and it fluttered about wildly.

I love my G2 still kinda miss my Nokia N900 but over all the G2 was the better move. And I have yet to have an hinge problem.

Same Here. I miss ms n900. But a modded g2 is the better phone.

i guess the hinge on the g2 is kinda hit and miss. either you get a good one or you dont.
and im sure the g2s UI is alot more easier to cope with than the n900
I like it. The added heft of the phone but only wish it was a bit thinner, its good still I love it. I put the black case on, and I think it looks much better in black, just like the G1.

The N900 was a great phone just poor surport which sucked on Nokia end. But having a phone that just works and it can be rooted is a +

Either its hit and miss or its the people that are reporting their hinge being perfect arent as picky and can tolerate a little wiggle

Not really. It's just some people don't mind it and others do. Nobody's hinge is as sturdy as a Droid or G1. It's not designed to be that way.

Coming from a BB 9700, the phone is just great. The market kills BB's, this phone is way faster stock. Thought at first the move to the G2 was going to be a little overwhelming, and to think 3 weeks later I would gather the balls to permroot it and run a custom rom is fascinating. This device is the coolest thing I've got my little grubby paws on to date.

Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA AppSo I got a mt4g and it had a bad screen (panel 1) so I ordered a replacement its coming wednesday..but I wanna know what are the chances I'll get a good display on my replacement?? Are the refurbished phones good displays? Has anyone here had a successful replacement? I don't want to deal with multiple replacements -_-
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I just ordered a replacement, im on my THIRD, first one had white flakes under screen, and the second one had the horrible taiwan screen... third came yesterday, its a good screen made in CHINA, but has a dead pixel near banner...
I plan on holding onto this one UNTIL the vibrant 4g comes out... Ive had horrible luck with htc phones, even on other carriers.... they have serious quality control issues in my opinion! When new phone comes out im calling customer service and asking for a SAMSUNG phone.... and after 3 exchanges on the same phone their policy is to offer a DIFFERENT PHONE...
When did you get your guest replacement?

So I was talking to Sprint and they finally processed an exchange for my Epic. Problem is, I went to stock with odin and everything is working fine now!! Sadly, the replacement has already been sent out and I'm left with a "good" phone. The problem is now that my phone is working fine what do I do?! I'm really scared I'll get billed 500 for shipping in a non defective phone.
-desperate for help
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Pretty sure you're going to be fine, as long as there is no cosmetic damage to the phone that they can blame any of your problems on.

Hmm I have some scratches on the side its minor though the silver was kinda chipping off like really minor though.
Would going to DK28 then stock 2.1 create problems with the phone?

Pull the plug in the middle of using odin. That'll make it not work for sure.

Probably not, unless you had some existing hardware problem or something.
Yea, do an odin pull

You won't get charged as along as you !send the phone back!..
and really..
I have never heard of them charging for a rooted phone.. They reflash it and move on at qa.. They might charge back a percentage of the cost from the rep but not you, the customer, as there is technically no official stance from the company about rooting. Just that, if you have a problem with the device, the next troubleshooting step is to reflash the stock software because you cannot guarantee the same "experience" on a custom rom. And some custom roms remove troubleshooting modes and the sprint version of QPST..
*edit * for the cosmetic damage reference..
Sprint now covers any physical damage except severely damaged LCDs.. As long as its not a purely *cosmetic* repair.. (ie replacing housing for scratches) but as long as there is a stated issue with the device (freezing due to processor damage from a fall) it is covered at no cost if you have insurance.

I had my Nexus One since last march, and apart from the 2second bug, I had no problems with it at all. I've never rooted it as it is a company phone.
Yesterday, when idle, it rebooted into the bootloader and wasn't responding to anything. I tried to take out the battery at least two dozen times without success until it finally rebooted properly.
The battery wasn't drained (it was at 76% when I managed to reboot) - anyone had similar experience? This is a bit worrying, I don't want to replace my Nexus One for at least two years (or until I fall in love with a phone like I did with this one, and the Nokia N95 before that) I've only had 4 phones since 1999.
- sorry I've posted in the wrong forum, I meant to post this to the Q&A section of the Nexus One forum, I hope a mod can transfer this
any water damage or u dropped your phone by accident¿

Hello, I'm starting this kind of fun thread, wondering how many people have you seen using LG G2?
As for me personally I didn't saw any yet, and because of that I feel a bit special lol .. Also I'm rooted and running cm11.
What about you guys?
I saw only one...and he is my friend...

Only 2 guys. And everyone else is "whoooooa" when they see it. Also the quickcase makes some nice impressions. They say: "what? I didn't notice it's a seperate, it looks liek a part of the phone itself".
Ya I haven't seen anyone with it and I like it! Also rooted running cm11

Wow man. Except you live in the US while I live in Denmark. If you lived here we should do some G2 software tweaking when we get too bored of reading Guyton all day long

I have the G2 for 3 months now and I haven't seen anyone using a G2. I go outside a lot, in coffee shops, (I'm caffeine addicted) where I surf the web for hours and drinking coffee. I see thousands of people daily using their phone and NONE of them using the LG G2.
It is pretty obvious why; in my country (Romania), the telecoms are offering only the 16Gb version of the phone on the contract and this is stupid for a phone with no external SDcard, so nobody buys it. I feel unique in a nerdy way
I also think that LG Romania marketing sucks as they NEVER promoted the phone properly. They have stands in all the shops but none of them have the G2 on display, it's insane! Only the TVs are displayed, hundreds of them.
Anyways, it's amazing to see my friends' flickering eyes on my 35800 points on Antutu with stock ROM (they all have Samsung or Iphones)
A few weeks ago I saw a young teen sporting one at Disneyland... Everyone else where using iPhones or Samsungs...
I hate to see LG G2 doing so poorly when in reality its a beast!
I see it like this viral photo of a University auditorium filled with people and everyone except one was using Macbooks. The lone Acer user was quoted to be the only real smart person in the class! :good::laugh:
Cheers!
I've yet to see anyone with it...I feel out-casted by all my friends and family w Galaxies & iPhones. But it's ok, tiny bezels, 5.2 full HD sleek front display and the glowing LED power button during phone calls makes them drool.

I see everyone using iPhone and Sammy's.. About 90 percent iphones to 10 percent Sammy's.. However, in my computer programming class AND my computer networking class that number is more like 90 percent androids to 10 prevent iphones... Even more funny we have long convos on operating systems and android always seems to be the favorite in those classes lol..

Lol i have one and including me 4 out of the 7 people who work in my store have one .. I work for T-Mobile lol ...
i have one.... for a week now.
and i had to decide between the N5 (a friend has one) and the G2 (another friend has one)...
but the price of the G2 was unbeatable 240€ for the G2. N5 would cost me 400€...
so i buyed the G2... now we have a black one and a white one... and so far its a great phone:good::good:
