Can someone help me get past step 12 from the Step by Step guide? I followed all the instructions correctly but i can seem to see where it says "Hold down Volume Up or D Pad". and it just hangs at where it says: "Rebooting in 3 seconds.."

[Q] Help please....

hello...could anybody help me please...i was updating my htc magic to [ROM][32b] Official AOSP 2.2 OTA...but after i copied the update to sd,and i rebooted at the recovery menu i couldn't scroll to select the update.zip..it takes very long n i decided to pull out the battery n restart it again..unfortunately it went wrong somewhere n the phne keep on restarting again and again...i've tried to hard reset and all...but it won't works...help pleasee...
no replies yet...that's very sad..
If you can get to the recovery screen try wiping and factory reset.and flash a different rom. If that doesn't work. You can always do the unroot method by using the smping.mbh file or something like that. Look up how to unroot in google and you should know what I mean. Hope this helps

thanks lucas..but,the problem is that i can't get the recovery...it's keep on restarting again and again..??any idea?
Well then you need to unroot your mytouch it basically puts it back in factory settings and you do it through fast boot. I'm guessing you have the original mytouch this how I did it

You don't need to get in recovery screen. Turn the phone off and hold the up volume button and the power button and fast boot the sapping.nbh file
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
What I did is:
Through fastboot I flashed SAPPIMG.nbh. It put my phone to the cupcake (1.5). Then I installed rooted HTC 1.6 update. After that I flashed any Rom I wanted.
Tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=586363
PS: This is the only working way I know since I am a noob too and finally got it going. Tried almost every rom in this section

You're very welcome. this method had saved my phone from being bricked like a hundred times.if the g2 had a fail safe like that I would of already rooted it. Glad I could help

yo lucas...sorry for the late reply..now the phone had the same problem again...i just tried to do recovery using ROM manager..but after it saves everything and reboot and the splash screen looping continuosly again..damn it..it's my 2n tiime now..grrrr!!i tried ur method n it didn't work...n seems there is alot of people with this same problem when i tried to search around..seems there is no better solutions yet for this "semi-brickd" problems..
So you can't put it back to stock? If you manage to get it back to stock by doing the same thing you did beforev you should try using a different recovery. aman-ra's recovery is the best for me. But I can't see how you can't get into the fastboot screen by pressing power and volume up,that's never failed for me. If its really impossible you should have tmobile replace it. I don't think they can tell you hacked it if they can't even get into fastboot.sorry if I took long to answer

Cant use my GTi9000 after installing an app.

I installed an app called Simply Lockscreen https://market.android.com/details?id=org.firezenk.simplylock When I locked my phone, the app crashed and keeps crashing when ever the app opens, unfortunatly, I accedentally clicked on make default.
All I get is either the plain glass lock screen and if I unlock, just a black screen with the bar at the top of the screen.
I went into recovery mode so that I could install F1 Galaxy S2 V6 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129404 but what I clicked on Wipe Data/Factory Settings, it keeps asking me for a password, which I do not know. If I click on Apply update from SD card, I get an error saying out of space.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Dave

I had tried that, however, it kept asking for a password whenever I booted the phone.
After some more hunting on the internet (about an hour and half) I read that if you keep putting in the wrong password, it goes away and bypasses it.
The phone is now working properly, Thanks for your help.

Do you have any backups, have you tried rerunning the the setup while still connected.
Ask this question in that thread I mentioned, if not might have to chance it.

All you should need are the drivers, put phone in bootloader and then rub the. Bat file from pc. Don't need sdk to perform this, should be automatic.

thanks for the help man, really appreciate it. especially from your phone ahah
Okay, try downloading the file in 1 click root by shabby penguin. Open it and run the PDA setup so you have PDA installed. This should automatically download the drivers you need. Then back out and Go to the 1 click unroot file ( remember to be in bootloader mode) and try to run the .bat again. If not try rebooting or go in to recovery and clear cache and dalvik and try again. Not sure, but trying my best to help.

Mytouch 4g

I know this isn't the right place, but I am new, so I can't post where needed. A few months ago I watched a YouTube video and rooted my phone and put CM7 Rom on it. I guess the video didn't do the backup part and since then I have lost all other back up options besides one I created last month. Is there anyway I can get my phone back to the original mytouch 4g before ginger bread? I used the gfree method, but as stated I can't restore before that because a backup was not done before the cm7 flash
Thanks in advanced

Yes you can post where needed. New members can post in General and Q&A forums. You probably tried to post this in the Development forum...which was the WRONG forum, and indicates why we have the 10 post rule in place
So I've moved it to where you should have posted it.

just flash the stock PD15IMG.zip file in bootloader.
PD15IMG.zip Android 2.2.1 Froyo
follow these instructions:
1) reboot to bootloader/hboot using power + volume DOWN buttons
2) bootloader will find the file
3) follow the onscreen instructions to flash it.
4) hit the thanks button.

Not for those of us unlucky ones (maybe I'm the only one) that the custom recovery will NOT work for. No matter what I try, it wont mount data/recovery, so no backup can be made or flashing a custom rom. Plus I have a new problem. Had to rsd the sbf back and now I can't even gain root on the phone.

I've got the froyo on it. When trying to root, I've used the method that worked for me originally, superoneclick. It just keeps not responding on my windows 7 machine but didn't use to. As for the recovery, I did exactly as laidaxins post but it would give me that above error on the phone. I have tried getting help from laidaxin and winsuk to no avail. I even tried getting ahold of romracer to build a proper recovery since I can donate my flipside for the cause, but haven't gotten a response from him at all.
Use z4root go to 4shared.com and search for it there. Then download and install it. Make sure usb debugging is on and unknown sources is checked. Then run z4root and let it sit. Let me know if that works for you.

That didn't work either like it did in the past on my win 7 machine. The program stops responding on killing daemon server.
Superoneclick doesn't always work. That's why I recommend using other options. Also there is a one click root for the Droid x Droid 2 etc on droidforums I have used it on many different Motorola's with a lot of success.
