Do you have any backups, have you tried rerunning the the setup while still connected.
Ask this question in that thread I mentioned, if not might have to chance it.

it says i have some files missing. and i have everything installed for android sdk.
All you should need are the drivers, put phone in bootloader and then rub the. Bat file from pc. Don't need sdk to perform this, should be automatic.

i downloaded the file, extracted it and click run.bat but still say im missing something

thanks for the help man, really appreciate it. especially from your phone ahah
Okay, try downloading the file in 1 click root by shabby penguin. Open it and run the PDA setup so you have PDA installed. This should automatically download the drivers you need. Then back out and Go to the 1 click unroot file ( remember to be in bootloader mode) and try to run the .bat again. If not try rebooting or go in to recovery and clear cache and dalvik and try again. Not sure, but trying my best to help.

I got that too. It was because the drivers didn't install completely. To finish the install, I unplugged the phone which resulted in windows telling me the install was successful. When I plugged it back in, it installed a couple more drivers, and the rooting worked just fine.
It's the drivers. Your best bet is to try it on a WinXP x86 machine.

I took the drivers from samsungs website. But I did plug the phone in when I first got it and it installed the drivers by itself back then. So what do I do? Plug it in, let it install, then unplug and plug back in?

Once you have sdk installed, if you're having trouble connecting your phone to your computer, get "adb wireless" from the market and you can connect that way leaving no need for the usb cable. All you need is your phones wi-fi turned on and a know how of adb.

Am I bricked and if I am is a soft brick or a hard brick and if its soft what can I do to fix it? Finally if its unfixable think I can bring it back and claim I didn't do anything and get a new one? Tried that but I'll try again and I'll try searching for that custom odin too. Thank you. Definitely made explaining to my fiancee why I haven't been answering texts and the subsequent question of 'what the f*** did you do to your phone you dumbs***'
No dice on the battery pull or finding the custom odin. Guess I'll have to be phone-less until tomorrow and hope I can get access to win machine.

i believe you are thinking of Heimdal. I don't know anything about using it, but I believe it is supposed to be an OS independent version of Odin3.
OP, find a friend with windows, that will be the easiest way. Otherwise, do some research on Heimdal.
Also, as other people have said, as long as you can get to the download screen. you are NOT bricked.
Can you get into clockwork recovery mode? With power off press and hold the camera button and the volume down button while powering on. If you can you can restore a back up if you made one or flash a rom.

Your phone isn't bricked. Just take out the battery, if the usb cord you used is the stock samsung cord try using a different usb. Take out your sd card as well and while the battery is out go into download with usb cord plugged in and re-odin.
Always remember if you can see something on the screen your phone isn't bricked.

It's okay, just try to re-odin and see what happens. You should invest in a blackberry usb cord, samsung stock usb is unreliable imo.

I don't think kernels are supposed to be odined that might be your problem right there.
You can flash kernels through CWM, no need for odin.
Just odin back to stock using the info from QBKing odin video.

I recommend odin-ing the EC05.tar that's there, instead of the EL30.tar because it's easier to root and you'll be able to flash a custom stock EL30 GB easily(after updating your CWM to CWM5)

You didn't do anything inccorect its just that crappy stock cable.
And yes the gb3a.tar should've been flash prior to clockworkmod for it to stick so you followed correctly its not an error on your part just a flawed cable go out and buy a new one like a blackberry or something really good not a cheap one .
Good job guys thanks.

[Q] Help stuck on "System Software not authrized by AT&T has been found on your phone
Well as the title says thats exactly what happened. It happened when I booted to recovery on Rashr recovery tools. Mistake on my part. I also know that there are similar threads, but I've already tried them out but they don't work for me. So I thought this would be the best way. The situation is well... its stuck on that error message. I tried to factory reset with ODIN but ODIN never detects my phone when I plug it in. I already tried taking the battery out and putting it back in. Then i tried Kies, but no luck there either since I can't find the serial number on the back of the phone sticker nor on the box of the phone. Does this mean my phone is dead?
Odin will work. You just need to get it to recognize your device. You have a usb driver issue. You need to install the court drivers. Kies should have done that but it can get in the way of Odin. Uninstall kies but keep the drivers and try Odin again.

Okay I uninstalled kies, and updated my drivers to 1.5.45 on the Samsung website, but Odin still doesn't detect it. I feel like I'm missing something.

With your device plugged into the pc, go to device manager. There's probably an exclamation mark on one of the usbs. That's the one having the issues. Right click on it and up date the driver. Go to where it say let me pick from a list on the computer. Pick the Samsung adb android interface, or something along those lines.
