I have my shadow for a while and well, when ever I make calls and get calls I can barely hear them. I was wondering if there something wrong with it or if I could activate like a hearing aid or something.
-Thanks
I am using TELUS vogue in india on TATA network
i am on my own have unlocked the phone to use it in INDIA i have a found a strange thing that
whenvere a phone call comes along with the ring i can hear the sound of person who is calling or any sound i can hear around him
although it is great as i can hear what the caller wants to say to me!!
i 1st thought that only my phone might had such problem but i unlocked another SPRINT VOGUE which showed the same signs too and in it also the voice of caller leaked along with the ring goin on and his/her voice
i cant hear the voice when i put my phone on VIBRATE MODE i am using NFS FAN V17 ROM
i have beeen using the phone 4rm WINMO 6.0/6.1/6.5 still the phone shows leak in rings
so what should be the problem that such a sound leaks!!????
That a funny one, never heard of that problem here in the States. I would say it is probably something to do with your network and a flashed phone from another country. But it sound like a cool feature as long as they don't hear you. But yes the only thing that should be carried is the ring until the call is answered.
If you hear your phone still ringing after you answer the call then it is defenately a phone issue.
If you search the Vogue forum you'll see that an awful lot of people with flashed Vogues on WinMo see this (some people with stock Vogues claim to see it as well).
I don't think it's international-related and I don't think anyone ever figured out why it happened or how to change it.

Confirmed.
My vogue on Sprint does the same. Usually when another person on the sprint network calls me.
Hello all, I have an EVO running 2.2 stock rooted version .6 along with the latest radios and wimax. The problem I am having is only when I receive an incoming call. Usually it is worst when a ATT Verizon or another sprint user calls me. The issue is a loud static burst when both parties happen to speak at the same time. The static is very noticeable and almost makes it impossible to use the phone. As I said this only happens when I get an incoming call. If I immediately hang up and call that person back presto no static issue. I have tried changing phones, it happens on a BB Tour, Pearl and two Evo's. I have also had Sprint change the MSID several times, and I have even switched phone numbers all to no avail. The advanced tech support team has issued a "network ticket" so I am awaiting the results of that. Anybody have any ideas? heard of this problem? Suggestions, at this point anything would be helpful. I have tried many different settings on the phone and in the ##data# menu all to no avail. So if anybody has any ideas at all I'm all up for trying them.
Thanks,
Ifly
I am having similar issue while speaking with other party who is on VOIP line.
Until I read this, I was not sure whether this is because of VOIP line or is it because of Sprint.
I will try to watch out for this and see if it has any pattern!
I haven't noticed it when I get a VOIP call but I will watch out for that too.
I'm a little frustrated.
Seems to me that 3-way calling has different capabilities depending on whether you are initiating a conference call, or a second party calls while you're already in a call with someone else.
I find that if I am in a call, and put that person on hold and call another, I have the "merge" button on the screen, and can bring both parties together into a 3-way call. However, I can't find any way to switch back and forth between the two callers, speaking to each independently. Am I missing something? I'd really like to be able to do this.
Alternatively, if I'm on a call and someone else calls, I get a call-wating ring and caller ID, can answer the call, putting the first party on hold. Then, where the "Merge" button shows in the above circumstance, I instead have a "Swap" button, and can switch back and forth between the two calls. I can't find any way to merge the two calls into a 3-way conference call. Am I missing something? I'd really like to be able to do this.
Finally, when I have two parties, one on hold the other active, if I press "End Call" it hangs up both parties, not just the active one I'm talking to! I can't find any way to hang up just the party I'm actively talking to. Am I missing something? I'd really like to be able to do this.
This all seems rather braindead, and I'm really hoping it's me that's got the dead brain, rather than the designers, and am simply missing something.
Comments?
i noticed that too a few weeks back. i can get over the fact that in order to conference you have to initiate both calls. but i hate how it hangs up both parties when you have one on hold,,, that is just stupid to me lol. wish there was a fix for that. do you know if the other galaxy devices suffer from that also? maybe 2.2 fixes that i hope.
lol this is the same on every epic.. but just to ease the mood for u guys, its not really a solution to the problem but if u get a second call and u put the first party on hold to talk to the 2nd party, when u end the 2nd call to get back to the first call it shows that it ended the call, however, if the 1st party is still waiting on the line then u'll automatically get a call back regardless of the call ending and u can continue to converse without having to call back... technically the 1st party does't call u back, he/she is still waiting on the line.. so its just a weird feature or a network issue lol..

That's good to know. Functionally then, at least, it works the way it "should" -- it's just a bit delayed and therefore a matter of inconvenience. I always though the other party was getting disconnected and actually calling me back.
Regardless, there must be some technical limitation that has it designed this way. Surely marketing and engineering at Sprint and Samsung aren't this completely moronic, right?
It's a limitation of Sprint's CDMA network and not your phones. Has always been this way with Sprint. I know cause I've been with Sprint 12 yrs.

i guess cuz its a limitation and not an issue for them? lol..
I'd bet this is why Google Voice conference calling doesn't work. Sprint doesn't do 3-way calling the same way as most other carriers.

It's not a limitation
I have to disagree with you. I have had plenty of phones where the 3-way calling worked just fine, and I have been with Sprint for around 8 years. It is a limitation with the phone. CDMA has nothing to do with this. The problem this thread is addressing is not an issue on the HTC Hero, or the HTC Evo, or either of the Touch line of phones. It is a Samsung issue, and whenever I've talked to customer support (Samsung), they have told me that they are working on a fix for it. I just want people to understand that this is not a CDMA issue, it's moreso a Samsung issue.
I've the S4 for a little over a week, but it's been a rather busy week so I haven't given it my full attention as yet. I really like it so far, I haven't gotten all the bells and whistles to work and I'm testing battery life with them disabled vs enabled etc. But I'm not really doing much else with it yet.
The only actual issue I'm having is receiving phone calls. When someone calls me, it takes a couple rings on their end before my phone starts ringing (I've encountered this with Sprint before though) but then when I try to answer the call, I don't get the person on the other end. I get a recorded message telling me I've got an incoming call from (name of caller in my contacts list) and if I want to accept to press 1 now. The message takes so long to get to that point that by the time it tells me to press 1 to accept the call, the call goes into voicemail.
I don't receive a lot of phone calls, but I would like to be able to actually answer them when I do. As of now when someone does call me I have to call them back.
This message plays AFTER I've 'accepted' the call on the screen and it plays through the handset not the speakers. I have Google voice set up for my voicemail.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like you have google voice setup or you used to. You will have to go to the site on your pc to disable it.

I thought Google Voice had something to do with it but I didn't think of checking the settings via PC.
For anyone else with the same issue: Google.com/voice>settings>calls> call screening off.
