The Devs are stating that the leaked JI6 is identical to the OTA JI6,, but my GPS only works with the OTA JI6, if I flash or Odin the leaked JI6 my GPS stops working....
Am I crazy?
Market is different too

I definitely observed some differences in Market..
I updated through Kies Mini and got the market app that had update all button on it. The ODIN JI6 update didnt give me that.

So if the OTA works why do you care about the ODIN version?
Well I tried both and the OTA seems to be more stable so far. The Odin JI6 was not working all that good. I was getting a lot of lag and just was not functioning correctly.
There are Market apps missing on both.
I would recommend using Kies to get the OTA. Not odin.

Which devs are saying this? The leaked JI6 that came out before is NOT the same as the OTA. If you are talking about the Official JI6 that we are flashing via Odin and Kies, then yes, they are the same.
To clarify, when you say "Leaked JI6", this refers to the version of JI6 that was discovered before we even knew there was going to be an OTA update. After they found out about the OTA and it started rolling out, they found the final version of JI6 and made it available to flash.
So please be more specific in which you are referring to.
The actual old leaked JI6 or the JI6 people are flashing via Odin and Kies.
I updated through the odin official file first then went back to stock JFD and flashed through kies. I don't have the new market from the kies version and still can't see all the apps. They are both the same file according to the build.prop anyway.

They probably got the new market before they realized the difference.
Doesn't Kies wipe data? The Odin update doesn't do that.
By "wiping data" what do you mean? You lose all of you videos, photos, settings, etc.?

I was thinking the same about the market.
I honestly can't remember if odin wipes data or not since I've flashed so many times plus when I flash I always start out fresh anyway.
You will lose your settings and apps. Photos and videos no since they are stored on the internal SD card. Basically anything that is not on the internal SD card will get erased which is which people use Titan to backup all their apps before they flash a new rom. It's easy to restore all your important apps to their previous state this way.
I flashed the Official JI6 OTA with Odin and have had no issues at all. It didn't wipe anything either.
i flashed the leaked JI6 with odin and then flashed the OTA with odin when that came out. GPS was improved over JFD with leaked, but not great. with the OTA version, it's significantly better for me. haven't noticed many other differences, except battery readings are a little odd (reads 100% when connected to charger -- after charging for sometime -- but drops to 75% or so within minutes of disconnecting. weird. same issue with leaked version).

That only problem with that statement is that it is incorrect. The build.prop of the OTA dates 09/28/10 while the leak has a date two weeks prior. So, even if something very minor was changed, they are not the same.
I flashed the official release via Odin, And when I connect to KM, It verifies my model number and phone number and shows that I am running latest version. I can say That these two are the same.

Kies mini just got updated to ver. 1.0.0.11011_4. Unfortunately my phone is on Froyo JL5 and it shows as unsupported device. Can anybody with JI6 or stock see if new kies mini contains any phone updates?
none on my other vibrant which is stock
No update, I'm at JI6.
Yesterday I tried the latest version and it worked fine (no updates of course). Today, I run it and I get "unregistered device." Is it still working for other people? Nothing changed on my phone, or my computer. Very weird.

I updated Kies today and when I plugged in my Vibrant to get the stock JI6 here is what it showed. I was reloading JI6 after testing out KA5
In a related question: Is there ANY good sync software tool for the Vibrant that actually works? Kies sucks so bad that words fail to do it justice.
But the interesting thing is that I already have KMM 3.2 on my rooted tab.
Also of interest is that NOW the fus servers are showing this

where as before they would show the KME version..
(before as in yesterday!)
So has samsung fixed the delivery process??
am not going to upgrade because i believe this KMM is the same as the KMM i flashed via odin from sampro.pl
I got an update using Kies today. Looks like the one you posted. I didn't have any problems with the first 3.2 update and doesn't with this one either.
When I get home ill see if there's any difference :-D

How come Kies on your Mac supports firmware upgrades? Mine says firmware upgrades are not supported for GT10.1.
Anyway it's seems that again 3G users (that actually paid more money to Samsung) have been left behind with no update That's so Samsung...
I got an upgrade for kies

go ahead and update. All is good. sammy fixed it and pushed it out yesterday, even the OTA is fine. But it will take a few minutes, around 35-40 to complete the installation. make sure you have full battery before you do it if doing it via kies, if OTA keep it plugged in to the socket...Just in case.
I got a update via kies today to but it doesn't seem to have been the 3.2 version as in the system information it still says 3.1. I've tried looking for a update again but it says I already have the latest firmware so I'm a little confused.

you are probably using a non US rom...
flash via Odin i say..is more reliable
To be honest I'm not into the whole custom rom stuff because I always muck something up
That is correct I am in the UK so I assume I am using the UK rom which according to another thread on here the 3.2 update isn't available here yet which explains it hehe
Not sure what it is but a couple of people on the Verizon Site say they are being pushed a update
Even though it say's ed05 on the PDF
It is EH03
Here is the updated PDF from Verizon.
That PDF is ED05 and not the update I just downloaded and applied.
Firmware version
2.3.5
Baseband version
S:i500.04 V.EH03
Kernel version
2.6.35.7
Build number
SCH-I500.EH03
I just opened it and is definitely EH03, you have to refresh the page if you have opened the pdf page from Verizon's site recently to make it show the correct page.
Here ya go: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20768745/samsung_fascinate.pdf
good to know...was gonna be a tad irritated if it wasnt eh03 lol
First problem i have encountered is my picture share to bluetooth and then send to my computer keeps failing. I guess I will be doing a factory reset sooner than i had originally planned.
I have tried removing the device from the bluetooth list, but it seems i can't find delete anymore.
I have removed the phone from the computer, added it again, and still can't share pictures over the bluetooth. I will try a few other things later on after work.
Waiting to see how my battery life will be after streaming bluetooth music another 4 hours of my work day.
sd card encryption
Has anyone seen that the new GB update is supposed to contain SD card encryption? I have been waiting for that for the last year. Is it true and does it work?
I have the leaked eh03 package installed a few days ago on my phone, I was wondering if this OTA build is the same as the leaked one. Thanks!

I checked the update pdf and it states the download manager app being included which is not in the leaked version, I am assuming that it might have other minor improvements. I have to wait for the OTA update to be posted to install, my phone has a bad esn and I believe that is the only way to install the new update. BTW, it might be too early but does anyone know where I can download the OTA update. Thanks!

So I rooted my wife's Fascinate and put CWM on it (no change in ROM other than root+recovery), and when I try to install this update it just boots to CWM. I figure it is trying to call a command to the original recovery which isn't there anymore.
Does anyone know how I can get this update under my strange configuration? This is probably the weirdest question ever, but can I flash the stock recovery back??

Odin back to ed05 which is the latest VZW release. (Package by pentafive). Let it fully load, then try to push the update through settings, about phone, system update.
I don't see the point in doing this but that's how I would do it

"the relentless pursuit of the perfect rom"
Yeah I was trying to do it without wiping anything, shrug.
Just a quick psa for those who were asking a lot about the ota eh03 vs the leak.
kwinders was kind enough to do a system pull of the ota for me to compare, and the roms are 99% percent identical down to the build.props being the same.
only differences are a slightly newer vz navigator in the ota vs leak, and a newer adobe flash installer (still older than what is current in market).
aside from a few more bins in the odin that wouldnt be present in an ota pull afaik (chmod, chown) thats it.
so if you have to get back to stock to return to vzw for some reason, the odin is gold...and the roms based off the odin are the same as if we built off the ota
that is all
Thanks Nitsuj17!

I had to unroot by flashing stock firmware with Odin for the update to take. With root the update would fail at 25%.

I downloaded the firmware from sammobile (4.1.2 was the only one available) then flashed with odin. Sammobile has the basic instructions. Then the 4.4.2 OTA update worked.
I haven't tried rooting yet. But i can save my google music downloads to SD and the glitchy touch screen appears to be fixed
Most of the crapware can also be deactivated running stock
Maybe we got lucky and they unlocked the bootloader; hopefully a developer will be interested enough to check.
I am on stock and still can't get the update. Are they doing this in stages?

Downloading Update Now
Nice surprise when i picked up my Note 8.0 today and the uodate manager started the download!! Will be nice if the "stutters" the note suffers from when typing is fixed (happened as i was typing this).
If anyone is interested I am 100% stock, never rooted, nothing flashed. Dont know if its natiowide rollout but I am im rural Ohio but thew device is a Alaska # & account.
As previously mentioned it would be AMAZING if the bootloader was unlocked but im not holding my breath. And even though i am VERY pleased the update is happening I still cant throw out any " good job AT&T" comments as this, OR ANY, update is BEYOND over due.
Will post thoughts once updated and taken for a spin.

After selecting the checkbox within SuperSU it popped up a warning saying, essentially, that it was going to remove root, close itself, and it suggested a reboot after that.
Once clicking OK it only took a few seconds to run and then returned to my homepage.
I rebooted, ran root check which confirmed I was not rooted, and then ran the AT&T update.
After 4 calls to ATT, a visit to Samsung Experience and a call to Samsung I am having to send mine into Samsung no one could get it to update.

NOTE 3 - ROOTED FUN!
I had to flash mine through Odin and then factory wipe, then it took the OTA. When I tried just unrooting it wouldn't and would fail
Tried using the full unroot option in superSU but it kept FC'ing. So I flashed stock firmware with odin. Update worked with no problems.
Does any of the bloatware effect updating? i was thinking maybe thats why some updates are failing after unrooting. Im probably wrong just taking a wild guess.
And PLEASE if anyone gets their note to root after updating to 4.4.2 post how it was done. Thank you in advance.

I couldn't find one. Even Sammobile only had the 4.1.2 firmware.
I have the AT&T SGH-i467, and I got the 4.4.2 update. Woke up to the popup to upgrade. My device was not rooted, stock from AT&T. After the update it would not boot completely. It would boot to the loading screen and flash to the "desktop" on occasion, then back to the loading screen. This would continue for as long as I would allow it, it would get pretty hot while doing this as well, draining the battery. I tried clearing the cache a few times with no luck. I had to factory reset it to get it to boot properly. All is well now. I have not yet experienced the usual screen lag either.
I too had to reload original stock ROM via Odin. The it went through without issue.
have tried to root using "known" methods but currently they all fail.
Hope someone comes thru with a root fix here.
Has anyone managed to locate a download link for this? I've unrooted, flashed back to stock via odin, etc. and cannot seem to get the update. I read somewhere that not having active at&t service on the device would prohibit it from pulling the ota update from at&t's server, which makes sense. However, if anyone has located a download link for this, I'd be grateful for it!
