Hi,
I have an X2 with French operator and I don't understand why time auto sync to 'GMT + 2 Minsk'. I think phone auto sync with my sim card.
If I set time manualy, 10 or 20 minutes after phone resync and set time of Minsk...
Can you give me solution for set time?
Do you need more information?
Please help me!!!
Hello!
The only thing I can think of is that you should try to go to Start-Settings-Personal-Phone-Timezone and set auto time to OFF...
Wow, it's amazing! It's my girlfriend phone and I have never see this menu.
Thanks

Hi
I have an XDA Exec, and as I am using it with our corporate email system (with Push email) our IT guys insist on the PDA locking after 15 minutes of non-use ... OK so far...
The problem I have is that I use my XDA as my SatNav as well, and this means that it often locks itself as I'm driving down the motorway!!
The option to change the timeout is greyed out, so I cannot change it via the normal user interface, so I guess I need to change some registry setting somewhere .... can any of you guys point me in the right direction???
Just a gentle nudge... this forum is buzzing at the moment!!!
It takes it's setting from your corporate policy, and every time you connect it will reset anything you change in your registry.
There is however a cab that specifically stops it locking while awake on external power, and auto lock as soon as you switch of or close the lid.
Might fix your issue.
Thanks AlanJC.... I'll give it a go
It is not working for me.
Since a few days my Touch's clock time is about 3 minutes ahead of real time. It does not accept the time synchronized with activesync and when I use synchrotime the wrong time is back after a couple of minutes.
Any idea what could cause this disturbing behaviour?

When sync'ing with pc, make sure you have allowed for syncronizing date & time
When pc is connected to HD, open Activesync > Tools > Options > Settings > and ensure 'Syncronize pocket pc date & time upon connecting' is ticked
Thank you very much for trying to help me.
Time synchro in activesync is activated.
Perhaps this helps to explain my problem:
When I update my time using Synchrotime over the internet connected via wlan the query shows a time difference of 179.00 seconds. When adjusting to the correct time the wrong one is back after a couple of minutes without doing nothing at all on my touch. The time difference stays between 150 und 179 seconds so the time is not running too slow.
Hmmmm. Haunted black stone! Some one is updating you time in the background.. may be your phone service provider
Go to Settings>Phone>Time Zones> Uncheck - Automatic Change Time zone and clock. See if that helps.
Great! Deactivating the synchro via phone solved the problem.

hi there I followed your instructions and it did fix my time clock but when i get text msgs the once i get they come with 3 hours ahead, but if i leave it with time zones my time is out 3 hours. all these after applying one click root on a HTC INSPIRE , sorry i couldn't find thread similar for inspire.
Well it's been an eventful month
Lost old faithful (700wx), bought an 800w just returned it due to keyboard issues, got a treo pro this morning.
Got my pro activated this morning, which seems to be very nice.
But of course things were going too well... lol
I have an IM app that I keep running along with some email apps.
They maintain a connection and notify me about messages.
As soon as the screen turns off, the data cuts out and doesn't kick in again until I turn the phone back on.
I tried Wifi the same thing happens.
Does anyone know how to get around this?

Another related topic. The programs in question normally run in the background. When I hit the "X" they should keep running in the background like they did on my other two treo's. On this guy when I hit that X on either app it completely exits.
Is this some kind of OS configuration I need to change?
Thanks,
Kenny
Well I figured out the "X"
Still can't get the data connection to stay on though
Well I found diamond tweak that always keeps the connection on so that'll work.
Can you share the reg change plz? I'd like to do the same while slinging wifi
There is a program called "advance configuration tool" that has a setting to keep wifi on while the screen turns off. Download it and give it a try, the setting is kind of hidden, once you install go to the bottom right softkey and seach for it there. I do not remember exactly where it is but you could google it and you will surely find it.
That works with Wifi connection, should works with dataconnection

^^ Awesome thanks for posting the individual reg changes!
I don't use Advance Config Tool because it messes with some of my reg changes I made so everytime I open/close ACT it changes some stuff and I have to go back and reset them in the reg...
I have the problem that the device does not check my email account. Do I understand it correctly, that no data sessions are active in sleep mode? No GPRS (or above)?!
What's that for a config? You buy a phone where you can set up your mail account to check every 10 minutes your email account but in 99% of the time the phone is in sleep mode and therefore does not check mails...?!
Please say that's not the reason for my problem...
Would these work to keep the GPS alive when I lock the keyboard. I want to turn on GPSTuner and toss the Treo Pro in my pocket. So far my choices are a) leave it unlocked and risk making an unintended call from the trail or b) locking the device using "keylock" and then the GPS shuts down so the GPS does not record my hike.
Is there a way to keep the GPS alive while Keylock is engaged?
The three registry changes did not keep the GPS active when Keyguard was engaged. Shucks. So again...
Is there any way to keep the GPS alive while Keylock is engaged? Thanks.

Is this a problem with all treo pro devices?! Also flexmail does not check mails regularly... The programm is also configured not to close while pushing X...
This is really a really big bug... This phone is almost not usable...
I noticed this article regardin setting up an email account:
http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/32429_en.html
Last sentence is:
IMPORTANT: The device power-off timer is reset each time you synchronize. If your sync interval is shorter than the power-off interval, your smartphone doesn't turn off.
If I do understand it correctly that means: power of = no email checking...
this works at any damn phone... such a "feature" is really inappropriate.

No. Let me give you an example. Let's say your phone is set to blank out in 5 minutes. You set your email sync time to 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, your phone polls for new mail. At the same time, the phone resets the power down timer for another 5 minutes. So, by the phone continually resetting the power off for one minute longer than the mail sync time, it never powers down. And, because of that, drains the battery quicker. They're not telling you this is a "feature". They're warning you that this setup is a battery drainer -- better to lose some automatic mail syncing than lose phone power before the end of the day.
Hello kraski,
I think you mistaken me a little.
Problem is in one sentence summarized: scheduled Mail receiving does not work with Palm Treo unless you make above written steps to prevent the phone from going to standby, (most) other WM phones receive mails while in standby...
-> Where is the point to make such a "feature"? In standby the phone also receives phone calls! And SMS... And such an internet phone has to check mails also in standby, w/o discussion or not?!
Anyone experience that the HP 614, using window mobile 6.1 backlite keep coming on every hour? any way to disable this thing?
Are you sure that it is not an application that does this? Or something that connects to the internet?
Try to see the settings of each application, or uninstall them one by one, or do a factory reset.
Maybe?
Hi!!!
If you´ve installed an email account, and it goes to internet each hour, this could provocate the backlite turns on and off at this time.
Sorry for my worst english
Basically,
I'm trying to limit my battery usage and I find alot of it is down to sync'ing of stuff such as emails, facebook widget, twitter widget and constantly having my hsdpa/3g switched on.
I am using Tasker to manipulate alot of what i do daily such as profiles for when im at work Mon-Fri - Silent my phone etc.
What I am interested in doing is turning off 3g/hsdpa and having it only periodically switch on just to run a data sync for all my apps and then deactivate after say 5 minutes after hour.
I have a profile setup to activate it when I launch the applications individually but I want something to automatically poll my email, sync my facebook/twitter widget and my accounts and then switch back off again.
Anybody have any ideas or suggestions please?
Cheers.
I use automateit from the market to reset the brightness when I come out of the camera, think you can do some advanced stuff with it,may be of use?
Hi bombadier
Cheers for the reply, Tasker does all that in a similar fashion the problem I have is I don't know whats times the widgets attempt to refresh at or my emails poll at they just have the option to set the interval at 30 minutes / 1 hour etc.
I want to know does it mean 30 minutes based on my system clock so 13.30? or 30 minutes from when I choose the option i.e I chose it at 13.36 so it polls at 14.06? 30 minutes later.
Basically I just need to either find a way of turning all my syncing/polling off and an app to force do it ALL for me that I can set to launch using Tasker at a specific time, or need to find the timing so I can turn my 3G on for that period and then back off again.
I would think it takes the time off the time at setting,If you could turn on autosync that would get everything to sync then somehow disable autosync and 3g?
I think juice defender pro does what your looking for
I use timeout-3g
I use an app called timeout-3g which turns off the internet connection 10 min (configurable) after the screen goes off. When the screen comes on it turns the data connection back on again. Also the internet connection is turned on once an hour for 5 min if the screen is off that long. If you purchase the app (which I did) you get more options.
Try it out.
