beware with new agile version

it downloads on its own the next time u connect, but in my case i wasnt able to connect to internet anymore, no agile, no pie, nothing...maybe my device, my config, dunno, luckily i had a recent backup, but be carefull before updating it...
and no, it wasnt a gprs issue, my provider, etc...i know what im talking about and i did a restore to a day before this problem and it was working flawlessly again...

Mine asked me if I wanted to download it.
My wizard also worked perfectly afterwards. Good think you know what your talking about.

Mine also asked if i wanted to download...and i clicked yes...but after the update my connection wasnt working...not gprs nor activesync-pass nor wifi, nothing...
I mean...most of the ppl r confident that a new version shouldnt have worst problems...thats why i accepted the update...and thats also why im warning it here, usually it is recommended to update everithing, but do a backup before...just in case...
And yea, i know what i talk about, i work with computers since 1995, and not a normal user, i have a retail store...and i have been using different pocketpcs and cellphones all the time...and im a tech geek, what can i say...not a hardcore programer/hacker, but i know one or two important things...
And a last word, if i sound retarded or childish maybe is because english is not my natural language, but if u want i can start posting in perfect adult spanish lol...

Well i haven't used agile in awhile due to it cutting off my phone calls. but all this flaming is ridiculous.

oh well...we r sensitive today...the word i used in the title and from the beginning is "beware"...im not saying not to do it, just be carefull...u ppl attack me as if i was flaming agile or something...and im not aggressive in any way, wonder why some ppl run away from sites like this...sometimes i get to think if some geeks thinks themselves as better than the rest of the society and so they discriminate everyone else...even geeks that appear to be not so geekys...dunno man...dunno...after all i was only trying to be helpfull, no more, no less...

I downloaded the new version and installed. It works well with Yahoo but crashes for Google. If you have just google account, the moment you login, it will try to connect and crash. I get even win32 exception. I then removed Google ID by registering blank credentials.
It has new feature of assigning a button to push to talk and has new settings for it.
New version is not a FREE version, its free for 7 days only. Look at http://billing.am-im.net/am/usd.php

At any rate, besides that it's a pay version, none of my Google contacts show up on this new version. Can't seem to get them to appear.
I've since downgraded to the last version. It has problems, but it's free and works.

you guys do realise this new one is just a trial version you have to pay for. and i think it sucks i would have rather paid for the beta one

ppc version is now payware? afaik the only payware of the agile version was the symbian one...but who knows...
i entered again their site and it is exactly the same as 6 months ago...im guessing that agile for ppc is still free...

Actually, it looks like the download and the first 7 days are free. According to their web site, anyway. After that, you pay for the subscription. So you're not paying for a beta and the app will soon be worthless if you don't pay up. They announced that this would eventually be a pay service months ago so I fail to see the big surprise.

Same problem
Installed the new version when I got the popup message and it worked flawlessly... for an hour. Now i can't connect to the internet at all, not with any application.
Agile is on the way out of my Wizard with great speed. Too bad, I really liked it, but I won't pay the price they want, especially not when it screws up my device.
20 minutes later: Agile uninstalled and after a soft reset I got my internet back.

God I hate my HD2

I'm sorry if theres been a million of these posts but i seriously regret buying one and now its too late to send it back because its taken me over a month to realise how bad it really is.
Now dont get me wrong, its an amazing piece of kit but its horribly let down by terrible software.
Main features rarely work, Everyone is aware of the LAGGY text problem the terrible text input software, the fact that it loses data connection all the time and has to be restarted to work again, When i come out of standby alot it doesn't work and the buttons light up and i have to take the battery out.
The phone is unresponsive and laggy alot to name but a few.
Its driving me insane, i want to get rid of it but i cant, i'd sell it on but my girlfriend dropped it and scratched it devaluing it and TBH, i'd feel bad selling it to someone knowing how bad it is.

send it back to htc for repair. that **** don't happen with mine!!!!

Tell me this, did you get your phone expecting the best thing ever, and it sort of was until these problems came about but you thought you would hold out for a fix/fixes. Still waiting out you lost your patience and want something that simply WORKS?
I'd agree with what people are saying, sending it back because really, it shouldn't be so unusable. Give them a sharp angry tone, it might quicken up the fixes release for the rest of us!

just as i post this i try sending a text to another phone 5 inches from the hd2 and 20 minutes later...no message DOH!

lol - that could have been any number of things, couldn't it. The least likely is your phone!
Anyway, you do know that it doesn't send the text directly to the phone don't you? It doesn't mean it'll get there quicker if they're right next to each other

Like most of the people here I have not had a single problem with the device. I did however have to loosing connection but that was easily fixed because of a discrepancy between what the htc wizard set up as my internet connection and that which it really was. I'm on the dutch KPN network and instead of the portal being "portalmmm.nl" it should be "internet". No problem since.

yeah, i know, would expect an sms to be sent within 20minutes though!
was saying they're right next to eachother so i wasnt waiting for a reply from someone i would know exactly when the text came through.
i sent a text to my boss yesterday and i havent been sacked so im guess ing that one didnt go through either

Yeah well, When i say she dropped it, it was from 2ft and the phone would have been fine normally but it hit a stone with scratched it.
I had these problems before anyhow and i was waiting as someone said...for updates to fix it, there have been many updates with no fixes and any fixes i do get are user created ones!
I had an Iphone previously which worked fine and was a bit slow at times i didnt expect the HD2 to be the best thing ever but i expected it to be quicker than my iPhone, i couldnt foresee the problems the HD2 would have as ive had HTC's in the past with no problems and i rate the company very highly.
I'm just so dissapointed.
I got the mobile through Mobilephones direct with T-mobile contract, who do i get in contact with? Mobilephones direct? T-mobile or HTC?

Yeah man, factory reset's, updated the rom, tried all versions and still get same problems.

I'm another person who's had no problem with the device - and I am quite demanding. I have not made any changes to the device as delivered other than registry tweaks. I did run the HTC official quick-fixes, found they caused chaos and assiduously removed them all. All the software I've installed has been well-tried commercial stuff.
The only unusual thing I have to do is to disconnect data services before I go to bed, otherwise it won't sync with MyPhone...

i experience kinda the same problems, laggy texting or even no texting at all until restart, data connection dropping and again needing restart...
but still most of the times it works great, better than any previous phone i had. despite these little annoyances i still say i love my hd2 and wouldnt trade it for any iToy.

i have the tg01 and i love it..i was having issue with the phone as well and discovered that if you install certain programs to the sd card it makes the phone laggy..and have to reboot....i had the spb shell 3.5 and i installed it on the sd card and it was laggy and the 3d accelerator didnt work..so i uninstalled and installed it on the phone and ...now the phone is very stable..havent had any issue...food for thought...

But yeah... lost my nexus one.
Went to cheesecake factory. Took out my phone and played with it. Then... I placed it on the chair and totally forgot about it when I left the restaurant. 10 minutes later I realized I didn't have my nexus one with me ( when I was in the car... ) went back in... and go figure... my phone isn't there anymore. I went to ask the person in the front desk, and she told me she didn't have my phone.
So then... I called my phone... like more than 10 times and no one picked it up... Few hours later, I tried calling again and it went straight to voice mail. I guess that person found out how to turn off the phone ( took the battery out? ) or hard reset it.
Sigh... whoever stole my phone, I hope he/she dies. <^>

If you have a gmail account linked to the phone and he access your emails you can track the ip on the gmail site then take the ip address to the police.
You dont have the assurion insurance from tmobile or att?

Thing is, I use a pin ( to access the phone ) so... he wouldn't be able to figure out my pin, meaning... he will not be able to access to my gmail and other things.
And no... no insurance.
However, he WILL have access to my pictures and stuff... though that doesn't really make a diff.

does google concider a login into your gmail account when the phone syncs? If so then you could look at googles logs and see the ip address.

but yea today i almost lost my nexus one too. i was a lowes getting stuff for the bathroom since we are redoing our bathroom and i was looking at some lights and i left my phone in a space behind a few boxes to reach for a box open it up n inspect it. so by the time i get to the car, i reached in my pocket to call my girlfriend to see if there was anything else she wanted me to get on my way home n i forgot it where i left it! im telling u i ran through that store like i was the NFL Tennessee Titan's running Chris Johnson. i ran like a madman n did stuff i did while i played high school football lol thank god my phone was still in the place i left it. im reinstalling mobile defense right now

Dead radio feature in EF02

Okay I haven't seen this one mentioned yet.
While loading the Market I switched WiFi on (3g is dialup slow here and I had forgotten to turn it on before launching the Market), screen instantly goes black. 3 seconds later I get the off and charging screen, it hard crashed.
Start the phone back up... no service... in status everything is changed to "unknown"... phone number, PRL, MSID, MEID, everything says Unknown.
Reboot, no change.
Boot to CWM and do full data/cache/dalvik wipe, no change
Boot back into phone and try cycling through data and airplane modes... problem. Airplane mode won't turn off... at all. If you use the power button to get to the switch, the airplane mode button just doesn't do anything.
If you use the settings menu to wireless menu, "Airplane Mode" is checked off. If you uncheck it, it says "Enabling wireless connections" and greys out, then remains like that until you leave the screen. When you return it is checked again.

Mine would not do the EF10 update, did the same error/try again later that we have been getting off and on since the first the of the year.
I am running EC05 on it now to see if the problem reoccurs.

I've had someting similar happen on EE03, 4 or 5 times. Once I couldn't get the radio back at all and had to odin a new one. Haven't updated to the nw stuff yet, but it doesn't look promising.

You're right, he shouldn't have done that, but you should be the bigger person and let him no you are offended in an appropriate way rather than making the situation worse. Reporting him to the moderators would have been a better response.

Call bar always green Note 3

Ok, so I just bought the note 3 as an upgrade from my note 2. I set up the phone and came to make a call when I soon realized that the bar on top is ALWAYS green. It should be black until someone answers then it turns green and when the person hangs up it turns red. It's a small bug but it's rather frustrating. And also, before the set up was call, video call, message. On the note 3 its video call, call, message which is a bit confusing. Please help. I'm new to this whole thing. Thanks in advance

This happened to me when I first got my note. It went away after I disabled T-Mobile lookout mobile security. It may have just been a coincidence though.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and sadly the problem still occurs. I called Samsung and they said it was a problem with the update that will be fixed soon. I asked all my friends and they said the problem occurred after the update. This is what happens when you live in a non civilised country...

I blame Samsung and their stupid Touchwiz UI. I got 4.4 on November 25th on my Nexus and 4.4.2 a week later. Yet here we are on near $800 phones and we don't even have 4.4 yet. Bunch of baloney. Might be getting a Nexus 6 instead of a Note 4 if they keep this up.

I agree, simplest thing they could do is give us a non buggy phone after spending that kind of money. Well, hopefully the new update will fix this issue. Does anyones screen keep flickering on and off? The lights keep dimming on its own. Checked all the options and everything is off. Seems like the new update is needed today before tomorrow

I thankfully don't have this problem. Chrome always opens to a totally black page when I click it from the dock, then as soon as I go to scroll, the page will appear. Nothing going on with the actual screen brightness though.

When the phone is changing brightness that's because of the hardware. If your phone is really working hard on something it will dim the display to get extra power for the hardware. Don't have brightness on max if you would like to avoid this. It's a supersmart solution by Samsung.
