Device as dead - Omnia II General

Hi,
I've put my Omnia II on charge, and now it won't restart anymore.
I've done:
- Remove battery => no effect
- Reset (volume-up, lock, ... reset) => no effect
My battery is good (works fine 1 to 2 days up to now), tested with several charger.
Any idea is welcome.

XDA II Hard Reset itself when I changed battery

OK Guys lets see what you can suggest over this one!
I am a heavy user of the XDAII and as such I have 2 batteries and have had no problems in swapping batteries before. Yesterday morning (just before going on holiday) I was charging my battery in the XDAII using the powerlead and adapter and once it had completely charged I swapped it, so I could charge the spare as well. After I swapped it it decided it would hard reset itself losing all my data, software etc :x meaning a delay in me leaving as I tried desperately to put all the software back on (priority was Sat Nav and Speed Camera detector  ) as I didn't have a backup .
What happened? - I've swapped batteries many times before without a hard reset. I can only think of the following two reasons
1) I was pushing the power button as the device reset itself after putting the battery in - therefore causing the hard reset. (pretty sure I wasn't but can't be sure as I don't have CCTV  )
2) There is some form of power spike/drop that casued the hard reset as I had just disconnected the power cable from the device before removing the old battery meaning the backup battery wasn't in circuit (I doubt this one)
Incidently it appears that the SD card that was in the device at the time has been wiped - don't know if this is a seperate issue or whether this is linked (either way I was glad it wasn't my Sat Nav map data).
Any one any clues?
It sounds like the little red switch to release the battery wasnt fully slid over, or the switch in it had failed, if you disconnect the battery without this slid over fully it will hard reset the device and you loose everything,
The switch swaps the power over to the backup battery temporarily whilst you change the main battery, if it doesnt switch for some reason you loose all your data in less than a second !!
That may well have been it - I'd love to prove it but I hope you understand my reluctance

Battery Drained - won't charge

i have had the o2 mini s and using it on o2 payg for a while now and have no problems (love the dam thing) - however the battery ran flat yesterday (i normally charge prior to running flat) so not come across this before - whe i put the charger (mains or usb) in it shows no sign it is charging (no LED lights up) - and in fact i left in on all night - again no lights - and the device sometimes turns on the 1 or 2 seconds - shows o2 screen then dies and goes off - i have tried the soft reset - but still it will not turn on - any ideas
Hiya,
If you search the forum for this problem you'll find it's quite popular but I'm confused about it. I too have a mini s and don't let it discharge too much for this reason.
Apparently, the Windows Mobile OS has to be fully loaded before the unit will charge so there are a few tips on how to jump start the battery to give it just enough charge to load the OS then you can charge it the rest of the way with the mains charger.
However, I switched mine right off (by holding the power button) and it still charges so not sure about it.
Good luck

[Q]Omnia 2 won't start

Hello
I Have an omnia 2 i8000 and I got it as a present from a frnd.the issue is that he didn`t use it for a long time (6months or so) and he placed a custom rom inside before he gave it 2 me.It worked fine for 2 days or so till I ran out of battery...when I tried to charged it,it didn`t work.after a few hours tried again and it started.connected it to pc and worked to sync files etc.after I removed it from pc,with battery charged (at least it showed on the screen it is).went threw menu and it freezed.tried to reboot it by removing the batery and it didn`t start at all.I measured the voltage from the charger ,it`s ok,measured battery voltage,it`s correct.the connectors from the phone and battery are in good condition so they touch. The connector on the phone outputs voltage for the battery to charge.
My phone won`t turn on without battery, doesn`t show any charging image/led.I want some suggestions how to fix this or what could happen.I need some data from it mostly...thx alot

[Q] Problem in my HD2 Battery

Hi everybody..
I discovered the problem few months ago, when my HD2 shut down spontaneously ! I thought for a while that the battery is empty, even though i was charging it in the same morning, when I turned it on, it worked but with a reduced battery reserve and a previous date and time..
that problem repeated infrequently, until last week, i discovered my HD2 stuck at the boot screen (the white screen with htc written in the middle) and it was unresponsive until I removed the battery, then i rebooted the phone and it was installing windows for new, as if I did hard reset.
when the phone was connected to pc for backing up my data, it became stuck for new, and i had to remove the battery , but it made an auto - hard reset when rebooting.
I thought it might be due to charging from USB , so I repeated the backup process while disabling that choice, eventually the process completed without problems, but when i rebooted the phone after installing an application, it became stuck again and the tragedy happened for a second time..
I tried to install another ROM but the problem persists to happen, it was not related to installing new application .. the last time that happened was three days ago when i was emptying the battery, so i charged it while the phone is off and when i turned it on it made a self- hard reset ! after that it never happened again. but now the problem is when i turn the phone off and remove the battery for few seconds the time is going back and the battery reserve is reduced/increased to the last time i removed the battery ..
Is that problem related to the end of life for the battery ? or it is due to the charging circuit ??
control the 3 pins at the battery
try a new battery (not expensive)
if that didnt solve the problem, go to a repair-shop and explain the problem again, may they can help u

Note 4 Freezing and Rebooting, batt not charging 100%, Note 4 won't boot or charge.

Fixes for 3 issues I have had with my Note 4:
Issue 1.
My note 4 is now over 3 years old. It worked perfectly for 2 years (has been rooted since I bought it with no problems ever), worked flawlessly.......... until my last update (Aug 2017), (New - Oct 2018 - Samsung fined for deliberately slowing note 4's: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/oct/24/apple-samsung-fined-for-slowing-down-phones )it then started running slower, freezing and restarting. I thought and still think Samsung inserted code into its latest updates to cause these problems in order to coerce happy users of its older phones into taking out a loan (@25%) to purchase their €1,000 note 8's and 9's............So I changed the battery and noticed the freezing and restarting getting worse, the new bat would only charge to 86%, sometimes I would have to swap it out with another in order to get it to boot.
After installing Wake Lock,(as of fall 2018 version 3 has been released) and setting it to partial wake lock, the issue is now gone, the battery now charges to 100%, and the phone is working as well as it did formerly. A small price to pay for satisfaction is the slightly higher battery drain.
Issue 2:
While looking for help I also found this procedure on another XDA note 4 thread that may be helpful to others with new batteries that won't charge to 100% (Wake Lock is also recommended) :
1,open dialer and dial *#0228#
2,after dialing *#0228# the battery status menu will popup.
3,hit ( quick start ) at bottom of the screen in red color
4,hit ( yes ) and go to settings/battery and disable fast charging for 1 charge only.
5,power off the phone and charge to 100%.
6,turn on the phone and if it shows 97,98,99 plug in charger again and charge to 100%.
7,once it charge to 100% unplug charger and this will create new battery calibration status automatically.now you can enable fast charge again.
8, Next go to play store and download wakelock power app and install it. Open the app and hit (PARTIAL WAKE LOCK) as in screenshot below.
This app will help prevent the device from random rebooting and freezing ths app does not require root access.:good.
Issue 3:
Recently my Note 4 started to run sluggishly so I rebooted it and it was bricked; it wouldn't boot or charge, nothing, nada. I found a fix for this issue that worked for me:
Take out battery, sim card, and mem card. Install back cover. Place phone in ziplock sandwich bag and seal. Place bag into freezer for 20 minutes. Remove bag/phone from freezer, reassemble battery, sim and mem cards. Install back cover. Press the start key and phone should boot(mine did). If not, plug into Samsung fast charger and try booting again.
how to update note 4 n910 to android 6 0 1-romupdate:

Samsung has been naughty. As a result of this fine Samsung may well release an update for Note 4 that finally addresses these issues.
