I've just upgraded to the Gold ROM and feel it's time to donate to the coffee fund. But how much is appropriate? Please help me by indicating how much you donated in this poll.

It's not just case of 'ill donate how much everyone else has' you donate how much you think they deserve.

Just looking for a general idea, nothing scientific, people can round up or down as their conscience allows.
It's in dollars as that is what paypal asks for when you hit the donate button.
btw is "Ruples" that new RussoIndian currency? ;-D

As far as I can see, this thread is only gonna go downhill.
Donations are not about how much you donate, they are a gesture of goodwill and appreciation. There is no need for anyone to know how much someone else has donated, the only people who need to know this is Team Overcome and they already know.
Against my better judgement Im not going to close this yet but be warned, if it starts to slide I will.

Donation generally means what you can give. There is no set limit. If you think its awesome and can only put in $5 then thats OK, if you can afford more then give more.

Donating is not tiping. The devs are saying "if you want to give us money for what we are doing, then give what you can".
If you can only afford to give 5.00, then give that, but if next month your electric bill is cheaper and you can donate more, donate what you can afford.

One of our greatest Devs (DoomLord) has managed to brick his x10 (in the name of development) and unless the costs are significantly small enough to be worth the repair - the phone will not be replaced by another X10.
That said i thought it would be in all of our interests to open this thread to see if anyone has a "spare Parts" x10 that "might" help fix the problem. Or indeed encourage users to pool together to help.
Doomlord - i hope you don't mind this, if you do please let me know and i will request it is closed.
@ALL XDA X10 owners, it has been mentioned that it might be the motherboard that needs replacing.

I'll keep trying, I had this problem with Erick one day, but I could send it after about 12 hours.
Has anyone else had trouble sending money/gift to India in the last 2 days?
Or has anyone gotten money through to him lately?

Hi luke,
I had the same issues a few weeks back with Dooms link, he sent me another link and it worked fine then, i think it was something to do with a different email account he was using at the time.

a few days ago in the DooMKernel thread.
I think we should try to keep him here.
He did a lot of work for our devices (ICS Alpha ROM, DooMKernel, Advanced Stock Kernel and even more!).
With the ICS update being released soon it would be very good to have him as an awesome dev onboard to get all the nice kernel stuff on ICS.
So what do you guys think?
Can we get enough money together to keeo him?
I don't want to force anyone to do something, I just want to ask if you would donate and how much, like I saw it in other forums.
Then we can do a list and see if we can get enough money.
I'm not 18 so I have to ask my parents if I can donate with their PayPal account and if they allow it to me, I'd be in the club of donators

please dont do that... MrHassell is the only person getting paid by buying that app... we had desolved the "partnership" almost 3-4 months back... so i am not getting any revenue from it...

Samuaz, as a friendly advice; if you think the community does not give you appreciation or respect as much as you deserve, I honestly suggest that you discontinue work on your ROM'S, so people can understand your importance/value. I cannot donate to you because I myself don't have a job, thus there's no way in hell I can help you out, but I wish I could.
I have a lot of respect for you as I'm using your MeDroid CM7 ROM as my daily driver, and it works flawlessly; I can't thank you enough. Your ICS ROM was the most stable as well.
Just relax and enjoy your everyday life. Don't worry about unfinished work on your ROM's. It's all good.

i can unterstand this guy. Some guys really thinks its fun to compile android on a ATARI :/ I hope you will get something back from the community, and yes in this case every $ help. and yes, its sometimes the best way to show people how good something was if they losing it.

I for one am using samuaz ROM's for a long time now. I know a little bit of programming, and a little bit of android, and I can tell you that the amount(hours) of work he put in is huge.
He, texasice, dbasabe and a few others are keeping this forum going as far as i'm concerned. I will donate some when i'm at home.

Haha, exactly why I posted this Tommy. You are so very generous with your time and knowledge, and I knew you would NEVER ask for donations. So believe me friend, I have no expectations for my donation, but I also know, if you do get an EVO LTE, you won't be able to resist the urge to share some goodness.
Besides, if just one quarter of your followers donated a dollar a piece.... WOW bro, you could probably get a new server or two and then make a sight I could host some of my humble work!

I don't generally do any online transactions because I don't bank and therefore don't have a debit card. BUT, today, I put 300 and change on a prepaid visa to order Evo LTE and gnex. There should be a small chunk left, and it'll go to tommy. I won't know how much for a couple hours, but I'll be back. If EVER a dev deserved donations, it's tommy by a mile! Of course there's no strings attached. Tommy has ALREADY provided this community with an INSANE amount of time and knowledge and taught a lot of people. Tommy deserves every good that comes his way. Lol sounds like me, I get changed like a 5y/o if I don't match well enough or if I'm not dressed right for where we're going. She'll drag me back into the closet and pick out my "new" outfit and if I wanna just wear jeans and a tshirt it has to be a $90+ pair of designer jeans and a 50$ designer shirt with a blazer over it. Before I met her I coulda bought 4 outfits for what she spends on one of mine now

If I hadn't just pre-ordered my new LTEvo for the unsubsidized price, I would've already donated to this worthy cause. But with that, and my 5-year anniversary coming up this week, it'll have to wait.
But mark my words, I will be back & donate something, even if it isn't that much. I look forward to this new device, and the devs that will be working on it!

Congrats on your anniversary! Man the devs so far that I know of are xHAUSx, Preludedrew, and there's a rumor kushdeck as well. There's other greats I'm sure. Toast is on the oneX with another carrier, hopefully progress there will translate.
As far as a donations my thought was if enough people donate even a little that's gonna further the cause regardless. Tommy's work seems to transcend devices in the long run. With all the tuts, guides and tools he's responsible for. He def deserves it.

I'm glad to have met you way back in the days of TRN! I hate to sound all "Nancy" like Jamie would say BUT you truly deserve a nice new phone! You are not only a smart developer but also a respectful guy that has TONS of class! There has been some that have come close to your level of integrity but none have matched it!!
Oh and guys, Tommy means every word he says! He does this because he loves to do it and NOT because he's looking for donations! Just look at his OPs.....he's doesn't bug the hell out of you with 75 different paypal "DONATE HERE" signs or promises you "insider access" or has a long list of who donated money to him like some devs......he's just that classy and once again, deserves to get another phone!
