Hi,
I just want to say a huge thank you to all who have donated to me, you guys rock! I have my Wildfire now and I love it, it's really helpful for testing and debugging builds of CM6 and also for kernel testing. This will help me a lot with developing stuff, and I'll be able to do a lot more for you guys in the future

If you are in UK, I am offering a free Jig service for members. With it you can get rid of the triangle on start-up if you rooted your phone and you can get in to debug/download mode if you can't use the three buttons.
You will have to send me your usb data cable, with a self addressed postage paid packaging, which probably cost you about £1.00. And I will free of charge solder a 300k and 1k resistor on two points and send it back to you.
It's hand made and looks a bit crude but does the job, see the pic bellow. I will leave other two point open so you can join them when you need the jig or unattached for normal data use.

It is actually not a resistor he is soldering on that wire, it is a chip that will steal all your data from the phone and wirelessly transmit to him. The wireless chip is short-ranged, so he is offering this only in his country, the UK.

Yes exactly as the qwerty warrior and others said, and this is my way of contributing, do on to others you expect to be done on to you, kinda thing. Also makes it easy for those who might not have other equipment handy, like soldering iron, solder and resistors. Or not capable of doing it themselves. There are many more reasons.
Lol @kreoXDA, the phone has all the chips build in to it for that sort of thing, and it can be worldwide thing if you install a rouge app.

It is not as much fun doing it the rogue software way, as it is doing it the old fashioned spy-chip-disguised-as-an-innocent-resistor way
For donations you would want to edit your XDA profile and add your paypal address (I suggest you set up a throw away paypal address because the email will become public via the paypal donation, I think)

a few days ago in the DooMKernel thread.
I think we should try to keep him here.
He did a lot of work for our devices (ICS Alpha ROM, DooMKernel, Advanced Stock Kernel and even more!).
With the ICS update being released soon it would be very good to have him as an awesome dev onboard to get all the nice kernel stuff on ICS.
So what do you guys think?
Can we get enough money together to keeo him?
I don't want to force anyone to do something, I just want to ask if you would donate and how much, like I saw it in other forums.
Then we can do a list and see if we can get enough money.

i cant make a "donate app" as there are many foreign payment related issues in my country (India)... also Google eats most of the revenue
(though I will check up and see if it's feasible)

please dont do that... MrHassell is the only person getting paid by buying that app... we had desolved the "partnership" almost 3-4 months back... so i am not getting any revenue from it...

Samuaz, as a friendly advice; if you think the community does not give you appreciation or respect as much as you deserve, I honestly suggest that you discontinue work on your ROM'S, so people can understand your importance/value. I cannot donate to you because I myself don't have a job, thus there's no way in hell I can help you out, but I wish I could.
I have a lot of respect for you as I'm using your MeDroid CM7 ROM as my daily driver, and it works flawlessly; I can't thank you enough. Your ICS ROM was the most stable as well.
Just relax and enjoy your everyday life. Don't worry about unfinished work on your ROM's. It's all good.

i can unterstand this guy. Some guys really thinks its fun to compile android on a ATARI :/ I hope you will get something back from the community, and yes in this case every $ help. and yes, its sometimes the best way to show people how good something was if they losing it.

I for one am using samuaz ROM's for a long time now. I know a little bit of programming, and a little bit of android, and I can tell you that the amount(hours) of work he put in is huge.
He, texasice, dbasabe and a few others are keeping this forum going as far as i'm concerned. I will donate some when i'm at home.

I think instead of criticizing the good work of our friend samuaz should be grateful for the work he is doing so at no charge, and I think if you need help to keep cooking for the nexus one that your computer does not work would drink and collaborate with all the roms that we use their benefits tremendously with that, good collaboration is voluntary and does not force anyone to do so, the criticism and bad reviews are others ..... thanks

Hello all. I was member dolce davinci until I asked to get my account closed. the reason I wanted it closed was to get away from xda.
My deal with mycomouterisjunk left me with a broken one s. HTC charged me to get blackrain1983s amaze fixed ( thankfully he is covering half the cost ). both deals are solved but I am left with a damage phone and my bank account in overdraft.
And the bummer of all, usps denied my insurance claim on the one s.
My reason of making this thread is to ask for donations. please, what ever you have will be appreciated . the LCD for the one s is $160, I am not asking for the whole thing but any little monies will help.
I still don't have a phone, I am using black rains amaze untill I ship it in a couple days. some members offered to donate phones but since i closed my account that didn't happen.
I know u guys might want proof that I am DOLCEDAVINCI and I will post some later, we still have a power outage in the DMV and I am on a phone.

Well here's how I see it:
You sent the Amaze to the guy and he said it was bricked. HTC did NOT honor the warranty meaning there was something wrong with it like water damage or dropped or something. Then the One S arrives to the other dude with a cracked screen. Both deals looked kinda shady. And it should not cost that much to fix an LCD/Digitizer/screen assembly at a 3rd party store, maybe at HTC it would be that, check around bro. Also, you said blackrain was going half on you with the Amaze right? so you're not out TOO much. I say sell the One S and buy a cheaper device, or trade it for a Sensation or something as-is if you can.
You then ask to have your account disabled because you want to steer clear of XDA, but create a NEW account to ask for donations for deals that looked shady that you're already getting half for on one? That is serious nuts dude.

That's just unsavory bro.
And yeah I might be coming off as heartless, but I did donate to jcash and I do help out when it seems warranted.
Just my opinion, you can think on it or chew it over or throw it away or whatever.

"Who gives a f***?" can actually mean that the person who said doesn't actually care and not necessarily implying that NO ONE cares, although that implication is also a valid interpretation, so the possibility exists he meant only to communicate (quite emphatically and bluntly might I add) that HE does not actually care and did not mean to infer that no one on the boards actually cares.

I am still battling it out with HTC. I had my card on file from when I wanted to get a replacement battery but that doesn't give them the right to charge me. everything went like it was supposed to be fixed free because they didn't even alert me through email but there is a hold in my account pending removal from HTC USA for 249.99.
after long aruing through email, black rain sent me $140 but out of that I still have to send the amaze to Jordan with express ( or else there will be no tracking ). I am not asking donations for HTC repair cost. I am trying to get to get rid of it . hopefully its an error because when I track my repair status it doesn't show any update.
I posted here because I can't see the market.

Just call HTC and ask if you're being charged or not, sounds like you're not even being charged.
With the shipping to Jordan, find out from blackrain if no tracking is ok, or work something out, maybe he'll help for shipping (since he agree to pay half the repair cost that may not even be charged).
It sounds like you can work this all out so you have a phone and everyone is happy without having to solicit donations here, the fact that you don't want to be on XDA but came back just to ask for donations looks bad too.

HTC wouldn't just charge you for ****s and giggles. I remember my sister broke my N1 and was hoping they would just replace it since they already had to replace the screen twice for faulty hardware. Well they decided I would have to pay for it and they sent me multiple emails and even a certified letter until I responded.

For legal reasons, they won't charge you without documentation of you agreeing to the costs and terms. They might put a HOLD, but they won't charge you. I went to a restaurant with my girlfriend once at a hotel I was not staying at and they put a hold for $100 on my account, but only ended up charging me the actual cost (something like $40-something).

You can just go to your bank and tell them you didn't authorize it. They will remove the hold while they investigate.
Problem solved.
