Brand New Galaxy Tab Wifi in box to dev or devs with working HoneyComb rom

Honestly would settle for Gingerbread. But I have sold a fair few of these and am getting asked all the time (and so do I want to know) when is it coming....
So here is the offer will give the lead dev a free band new 7" wifi tab along with keyboard doc and several 16-32gig sd cards (class 4) as well and a few beers and pizza's to all the team via donate.
If you want I have no problems in coordinating and updating the thread to make sure the latest info is in place.

Although you have good intentions, this topic is pretty meaningless and does not belong in the development section. This section is for posting dev projects/reference like builds/roms/kernels/tuts etc.
All the latest info goes into the actual HC dev topics that exists, what point would be in putting them here?
If you want to donate, donate.

Spacemoose1 is already doing his\her best to create a good working port and Dip7 (as much as I know) is not working on HC right now. So I doubt that your offer will change anything in HC development.

Spacemoose already has a new Tab on the way to his home, so I doubt he would need another one to continue working on his HC port.
But he is a fan of donations, so if anyone wants to donate, go to his thread and toss him some pizza & beer money

Like I understand it spacemoose1 has both a cdma and a gsm tablet on the way, but it sort of makes sense for this guy to send him a 1010 wifi only tab, I've heard that hardware is somewhat different. So if there's very little development done on 1010 then it's understandable that he wants to make sure something gets done.

Dude, there isnt even a custom froyo rom for the 1010 so what makes you think this topic is going magically make a HC appear?
It is a good idea though for the OP to send spacemoose a 1010 and when another build is created it can be tweaked and tested on it.

Its the biggest problem that there is nothing, and my coding is so fecken rusty acid would not help otherwise would start it myself...... Can't wait for sammy to do it hell it will be the next rapture event by the time they get there job done but by then..... Well it will be the rapture so that means everyone using windows phone i guess >:~}

Its why I created the thread in the hopes that Space or others would be interested in starting this then I would have no probs in sending them a dev tab to play with and when they are done send them a brand new one also!!
Like I said I have shipped lots of these devices to UK and Ireland and would love to be able to say to clients its actually going to happen and some time soon??? but hehe knowing my luck a few good devs start it get it done then in the same week sammy then release the offical rom

If you have a special offer for THE ONE PERSON actively trying to port honeycomb, pm her. Offer it in private.

i can understand those ppl trust me . they are just showing off by nothing , for god sakes if he really got 2tabs and much money to donate , why he don't buy one ? specially he will get nothing cuz if the dev agreed with him it will be in public and all the ppl will have the honeycomb . stupid idea , sorry for the OP but u pissed me off

Have been around the net long enough not to kettle trols annoy me. And its nite about having tons if cash to slosh around I don't and if i did or not its relevant. I asked the community of des if the could help or not and its up to them and i would do what i could to help and support them..
I don't need to brag to feel good about myself, but maybe you have to run down strangers so you can..

i talked to PaulForde from Team ICSSGS if they could port ICS to the SGS+.
He said that he will try, but they need a working SGS+ to test it on.
So we do need Donators.
Here's my plan. I opened a Paypalaccount where u can donate to, so i
collect it. If it is enough for a SGS+ i will forward it to PaulForde.
Yeah i know u have to trust me, or you just donate to Paulforde himself.

The advantage if you donate to me is, that if we doesn't reach to goal of about 200 euros i just send your money back. But you can choose.

Not sure if that is the way to go. Even if he has a SGS+ it doesn't mean he's going to port ICS for us. He would just try and most probably fail because he doesn't put much effort into porting.
We couldn't even blame him for that.
Lets support those developer who showed that they are doing it for the community or for fun - (im repeating myself yeyee) but I can't stop hyping Skywalker08's and Yarde's work. They havent even asked for donations nor did they add a donate function. Its just honourable what they do.
We can't just put some money into something and hope that we get ICS for that. Support those who are already working on similiar and who are capable of porting ICS and MAYBE (!) we will get ICS someday.

I don't know much about this dev team it seems that they have worked only on the i9000
I rather donate to some big dev maybe Doomlord as he has more experience with snapdragon chipsets.
Or donate to Skywalker to continue his work

Yes, i'd rather donate 5 Euro to Skywalker08 and Yarde who already have the i9001 (correct me if i'm wrong) and already showed some progress and interest in building an AOSP ROM for our device. Maybe we should initiate a movement on donating to one of them (or both) to motivate them more on working ? I think someone should just ask them if they want this.

Yeah but the point is: even if they can create something bootable, they will stop probably the work. They won't work out everything perfectly, just becasue there are so few people using / donating whatever. It takes too much time.
SGS+ community is not big enough to attract developers who want to make money (CM for example).
And we can't really do anything

Well, CM yes, but CM7 and that's gingerbread based. But that will take at least several weeks.
And if we (ie. YardE and anybody else who is able and willing to contribute plus me) will really achieve our ambitious goal some day, then and only then the time has come to think about ICS/CM9

Some people assumend that Arco is the one trying to port CM9 to SGS+. It's fairly easy to let the build look like it's meant to work with SGS+ even if its only working for SG W.

I think the best deal is that someone port ICS (succesfully, fully working) to our device and after that we can donate him to give us the full rom (also a trial version of rom is needed)

That's the best solution. When we see a demo of ICS running on our phone, then we will donate and the dev will release it.

i can live with that, it's just sad that this phone, whose hardware specs are good to run ics doesn't have a running rom yet

I think you may get more donations if you gave advantages to donaters..

As much as i would love ics i think we are lucky to have all the choices we already have..still, if a dev built an ics port and was selling it for $25 i bet all of us would buy. Haha

[Pledge/Bounty] A new / used Samsung Galaxy Note for the CheckROM developers

Hello and good evening.
As many of you already knows, GadgetCheck had a bit of an accident earlier where his Samsung Galaxy Note got destroyed that ended up by stopping the development of the current CheckROM NoteHD ROM.
You can read more about it here.
Now we all knows that CheckROM NoteHD, or just the CheckROM developers are one of the best ROM developers of the original Samsung ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note.
So it would be a bad idea to miss out a good CheckROM NoteHD ROM for the Android 4.0.3 that just came out today. More info about that you can see here.
So the point of this topic is to see if you peoples here that have a Galaxy Note are willing to donate some money to let the CheckROM developers get the chance to buy a new or used Galaxy Note so they can continue their development of the ROM.
If you want to donate some money for a better cause for our Galaxy Note's, then just write down on how much you are willing to donate in dollar.
Remember that this is a community initiative.
I will update the topic on how much money that are donated 2 times every day. And i will write down the names on those who have donated with how much money they have donated in my first post.
I will personally donate 20 dollar.
A donate link will come when we have reached a certain amount of money in total from donated money.

It's simple, if you don't want to donate, then don't.
If you want to donate to get a very good ROM back to our Notes, then donate.
You have the freedom to choose now with this topic.
Before i created this topic, there was no methods of letting us donate of some sorts.
But now it's created and you can choose what you want to do.

ok....so I will open a thread to donate fuel for my Ferrari....fuel is getting really expensive here in Germany and I am about to sell my Lear Jet for that reason...

If you are that desperate to see the rom back on the note, then why not just buy him a brand new note by yourself? Why create a thread asking for people to "donate"

OMG, i'm note sure if you still get the whole point of the thread.
I'm a nice and friendly person that loves the Galaxy Note to bits. And because of that i want a damn good ROM on my Galaxy Note to.
And i'm sorry to tell you this, but i'm not alone on doing all this. And that's why i created this topic because both me and GadgetCheck knows that there are alot of peoples out here that want to donate some money to GadgetCheck so he can get a new or used Galaxy Note so he can continue to create the best custom Samsung ROM that are out to both the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Note.
If i have had the money to buy GadgetCheck a new or used phone alone, then i would do it.
But because we usually don't have all of those moneys to do that, then we create those 'DONATE' topics to let others help with the problem.

ok, my friend ...but I would never ask for it - there is no reason for me to donate to someone who could afford to spend 500 EUR for a smartphone and another 400 EUR for another one, and so on....
But that's just my 2 cent on that

I know your position on the subject and i partly agree with it even.
However i do feel that the community could give back to the developers if they brick etc. After all you guys are taking all this time, and endangering your devices for the community. Hope there will also me a Rocket ICS

Doesn't have a work, and i can't buy a Note, but with your help i can make a good kernel for Note AOKP/CM9/MIUI based

Yes, but is too slow for developing and not more people wanna test it.. It's real crazy make a kernel without phone on your hand..
I can't give a kernel with a risks of brick..

Sorry no ones going to give you 600 euros for a 'hobby' we have kernels which work fine, sure we love new stuff and I am sure you would get plenty of testers but no ones going to give you the money for a new device....
Why else do I get people to test my linuxonandroid project..I would if I had to money buy a range of devices to test it, but no ones going to give you the funds for that

Can see you helped test the Rootbox from, but you're not listed as a contributor and under forum status you're listed as a themer which doesn't really add up to kernel development on a device you've never used.
Sorry mate, I would happily donate and have done to the long standing devs on this forum, but not just to anyone stating they "want to make it better" without having the experience to back it up.
If you really want to develop for the note then trade in your s2 and pay the difference.

Can you please provide a guide or links on how this can be achieved.

Maybe could be great to change people mentality: many people uses ROMs and MODs without donating anything to Devs, in this way Devs lose interest to develop if they don't have the device..

See bro you are taking it in a wrong way I am a student and currently do not earn money. So, donating money from my parents salary is not sensible. I do support open source and have a will to donate for projects only when I earn my own money. Hope you understand. Peace

This is your point of view.
My POW: I drink 5 coffe in a day, if in a week I drink 4 coffe i will save 7 euros and I will donate it to Devs who work on MY Devices (devices that I use everyday).

Respect for your POV and people like you who by development keep the community up and running .

I remember in early days someone said the main code is just for 32bit, then it must be rewritten
