[Q] Error when turning on wireless - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi,
I've just set up my HTC HD2 with Android - Froyo Stone sense...
I flashed it with the latest ROM from HTC website then installed HSPL3 and then upgraded the RADIO which allowed me to boot into Android...
It works quite well but freezes sometimes, not sure if anyone can help with that...
My real question is that when I try to turn the wireless on it just says error and doesnt do anything... Any ideas what might be up and how I can fix it...
When I hold down the volume button and power on the phone it says
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x40
And then on the HTC boot screen before Windows it shows the following.
R2.12.50 02~2
G15.40 50 07U
D1.7282124
Hope you can help.
Regards
Dave.

I've actually seen this before too. I'm on Miri with Bangers 1.3. I noticed it only happens when I use the actual power control widget but when I am in settings and I see error turning it on and off there get it work fine. I thought mine was a complication from using Juice Defender at the same time.

Searching would've eventually brought you to an answer about getting an Error message when turning on Wifi but...
Try this:
first copy bcm4329.ko on the root of your sd card (or just change the path name on the Terminal command to point to where it is)
On Terminal Emulator type (you'll also need Superuser for root access if you don't already have it):
su
mount -o remount rw /system
cp /sdcard/bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules
Then go back and turn on Wifi from the settings.

i have the same problem on mdeejay 2.1a
wifi error. i try from settings and from power control widget, and from HTC wifi toggle widget. none work.
i did replace the file in modules. as well as the tun.ko from mitchyprima r11 (i have extended battery)
any ideas?

Did you replace it via terminal emulator. That's the only way I can ever get it to work.

Bluetooth mac address

i have just got my hd2 and my blue tooth mac address is 00:00:00:00:00:23
would this be correct???
all i have done so far is HSPL2
have just copied back the leoimg file on to the sd and flashed back to the standard SPL and now have correct MAC address
which hspl did you choose? I think I read recently that spl 2.x fixes the blue tooth mac address issue. (never noticed a problem, myself, just repeating something I read.)
Hi,I have the same problem
I install 2.08.HSPL using HSPL2,and with
-OS: 5.2.21896
-HTC Manila: 2.5.20121324.1
-ROM:2.10.21897 CHS
-Radio:2.08.50.08_2
-Protocol: 15.34.50.07U
but my Bluetooth address become to 0000000023,how can i resolve the problem?
another question,on the spl check screen,I see bepe post CotullaHSPL 0*30
,but my is CotullaHSPL 0*40,why is the different?
Thanks very much.
Actually, can I change the Bluetooth's MAC address of the phone? Or is that a hardware thing?

Help!!) Bad flash--Bricked??!

SOLVED!!!! I had a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5954764
and my phone is back to live!!
Thank you guys for your help.
Hi,
I have a GSM512 HD2 with HSPL installed.
I have been flashing fine Miri's 6.5.X ROMs on my HD2.
Today I tried to flash this ROM
RUU_Leo_SKT_KR_1.74.911.2_Radio_15.37.50.07U_2.10.50.08_2_Signed_LEO_Test
via MicroSD card.
(I copied the .nbh file onto my microSD card and renamed it to LEOIMG.nbh).
But while it was on the progress of flash,
the flash failed in the middle of the progress.
Then, everytime I try to turn on the phone, I'm stuck at the tricolor screen,
which says
HX-BC
SPL-1.66.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x30
Is there anything I can do?
Now the computer can't recognize the phone via USB connection, so I am not able to access the microSD card!!! I can't seem to find any way to access the card and put a shipped ROM and flash it again.
I have no microSD card reader at home..
Please help!!!
Use Custom RUU to flash HSPL again and then flash again MIri's Rom using Custom RUU
typed brick in the search bar on here..the fix is simple..
RUU_Leo_SKT_KR_1.74.911.2_Radio_15.37.50.07U_2.10. 50.08_2_Signed_LEO_Test
where did you get this?

The problem is that the computer cannot recognize the USB connection, so Custom RUU can't work.
Anyway, I've just bought a microSD card reader and I'm downloading a shipped ROM and I'll try to see if my phone can go back to live by flashing the shipped ROM from the microSD card.

It's weird, are you sure of that? If you put your mobile in boot mode, connect it to your pc at the bottom ( white stripe ) does it say usb or serial? ( If It says Usb the phone is recognized don't expect to see anything on your PC) Anyway maybe you can solve with a card reader

You mean Pressing down the vol bottom and turning on the power button?
Yeah at the tricolor bootloader thing, it doesn't say that when I connect the phone to computer via USB cable.
In addition to
HX-BC
SPL-1.66.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x30
at the bottom it will also say
'Upgrade ROM code error
please try again'
and then very fast it will go into an eternal gray screen with 'Loading...' on it.
take a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=502167 I think that's the same issue that you're experiencing and it was solved

No,
The ROM has a diffrent CID from what your device is allowed to have.
You need to flash the original ROM what came with ur HD2.
Or else use a goldcard and reflash any official stock rom again.
That's it, nothing to be worried about.
Why are all the shipped ROMs out there in InstallShield exe format? When I open the exe files, the inside files (.nbh, etc.) do not show up!!!
I would really appreciate if anyone can redirect me to an URL that downloads a shipped LEO ROM that is extractable, or even better, the RUU_Signed.nbh file itself.
I'm looking at almost an end to get my phone back to live, but because of this other paltry sh*ts, I'm getting tired.

Right click on the exe file and select "Extract here" to unpack the files and there you will have the nbh file

The exe file was not an extractable file as it was packed in InstallShield.
Anyway, I extracted the files using an InstallShield extractor called 'Universal Extractor.'
Here is another problem though.
After extracting the .nbh file from the shipped HTC HD2-RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship_2
and renaming the file to LEOIMG.nbh and copying the file to Storage card
and pressing volume down and pressing power button,
it will still load into a bootloader that won't flash, but says this below:
RUUNBH
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-1.66.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(Touch) 0x30
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again
Serial
and to say it one more time, I can't turn on the phone but the erratic bootloader screen, and I can't connect the phone to ActiveSync or WMDC. Also I tried to Hardreset but while it says Hardreset successful, I still can't turn on the device (the phone does turn on, but goes onto that erratic bootloader screen).
And the shipped ROM I tried is a rather random one, because my phone is a debranded one that I don't know the specific ROM the phone came with.
So far thank you for your help, and I will appreciate further help.
The straightforward question from me:
What is the official shipped ROM that is flashable via SDcard on any debranded HD2 without HSPL?

Try one of these - http://www.4shared.com/dir/22189940/b8552fa0/Shipped_Leo_ROMs.html. I think it is dependent on your region however and not just that the device is unbranded.
Solved!! This method worked for me!!
A bunch of thanks to hdpsytes for this.
Oh, and thank you every one, too

1 - Download an official rom.
2 - Download HxD Hex Editor from here: http://download.cnet.com/HxD-Hex-Editor/3000-2352_4-10891068.html?tag=mncol
3 - Download the Goldcard image: (thanks Ancola66) http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=287634&d=1267433544
4 - Create the Goldcard:
Open HxD Hex Editor
Go to Extra tab> Open Disk. Under Physical disk, select Removable Disk (SD card), uncheck "Open as Readonly), click OK.
Go to Extra again, Open Disk Image, open up goldcard.img
Press OK when prompted for "Sector Size" 512 (Hard disks / floppy disks)
-Now, you should have two tabs, one is your removable disk, the other is goldcard.img
On goldcard.img tab. Select All> Copy.
On the "removable disk" tab. Select offset offset 00000000 till 00000170 (including the 00,000,170 line), click on Edit tab and then Paste Write.
Click on File> Save. Now you can exit the program.
5 - After that try load the official rom with the Card in. Or load by SD.
Sorry for my English
Good luck.

[OUTDATED] Using HSPL2 with Telstra device

This fix from the HD2 TMOUS_1024 section appears to allow Telstra users to finally use HSPL2.
Thanks to bgcfb - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6855002&postcount=1 and to samsamuel for pointing this out .
Although this fix is for the TMOUS device, it has been confirmed to work on a Telstra device by tvailment and using HSPL2 he was able to load 1.66.hspl - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6872412&postcount=1866
Step1: Create a text file named ModelIDCheckBypass.txt and save it to C:\
Step2: Edit the text file to contain the following entry - PB81110
Step3: Save file and set as Read Only
Step4: Run HSPL2
This has now been confirmed to work by a few more users (see below)
PS! I'm only referencing this fix here as I know many Telstra users want to be able to use HSPL2 and have not been able to. I take no responsibility for anything that may go wrong with your device as a result of bypassing the modelid check within HSPL2 - so use at your own risk.
Telstra T9193 SPL 1.66.0000
Dear ClydeB1,
I know you have been great on the Board. I did try what've been said on creating ModelIDCheckBypass.txt and so on.
When I run HSPL2_RUN, it still give me Err 0000004, Bad Model ID, etc.
Any advice?
lol actually worked haha
Thanks a million!
Confirmed this works 100% on Telstra T9193.
I tested both 1.66 and 2.08 and both work.
(Just wondering why this hasn't been posted by Bepe....it's obviously something coded into the exe to check for bypass).

Yes ... that omission has caused a lot of grief
Still, it works, so newer ModelID's can be HSPL'd and customised now
For those still unsure, the Telstra T9193 ModelID is PB81110
Thanks for the heads up, worked beautifully. I now have HSPL1.66
Thank you ClydeB1, Just flashed 1.66...worked perfectly.
using 2.08 beautifully
Thanks to all who have tried and confirmed working. Great news for all Telstra users who can now finally use HSPL2.

I think you are missing this step - You need to enter the following text in the ModelIDCheckBypass.txt file - PB81110.
In step 9 after turning to tri-colour bootloader screen, does USB show up in the bottom section of the screen?
Telstra T9193 SPL 1.66.0000 PB 81110
Oh, I am so sorry forgetting to write it - I did have "PB81110" in the ModelIDCheckBypass.txt file.
When the T9193 turned into the tri-color bootloader mode, it did show "USB" on the top of the fourth white color band below the RGB tri-color band.
thanks,
Sorry bud, not sure what seems to be the problem with yours. I don't have a Telstra device so I can't recheck the steps but it is strange that it works for others and with yours for some reason the ModelIDCheckBypass is not working and that's why you still get the Bad ID error.
Are you 100% sure that you have named the file correctly, have the correct modelid (ie PB81110) in the file, you have saved it to the root of your pc hard drive (ie C:\) and that you have saved the .txt file as Read Only in the file properties and you are running HSPL2 from the C: drive (right click "Run as Administrator") ? Carefully check the spelling of the file name and the modelid.
EDIT: Use this attached file, save it to C:\

[Q] Can't instal HSPL neither LEOIMG.nbh through memory card. HELP!!!!

My phone started having Issues ever since I installed Core Cell, I am not blaming one bit Core Cell i am just explaining, I used the windows 6.5.5 with android on my Memory card also from coredroid(none of the other sd roms would work). I got tired of windows 6.5.5 basically because my contacts from gmail would not upload to my phone in anyway possible and android coredroid did not work properly. Well now that i try to flash HSPL I am getting a fatal error, my

SPL is 2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
when I run HSPL I get this message:

Error Code: 00000004
Description: Bad model ID!
when I run customRUU.exe i get this message:
ERROR [240]: File OPEN

I need help with this constant problem it is driving me insane! I do not know how to make this post one that I will if someone posts something to it, but if you could send me a message with some help also, on top of posting here that will be great!
SDcard
also when I tried to switch roms through my sd card using a LEOIMG.nbh my screen just says Loading.... and never goes to the place where I can select LEOIMG.nbh
Task 29
Also when I try to run Task 29(as administrator) the computer gets to the part where it says updating the ROM image on your PDA Phone... and my to the black screen with the letters htc in gray the percentage does not move at all neither on the computer and the phone. and then i get an error similar to when installing HSPL

When you connect to PC via USB does the word "serial" change to "USB" on the bootloader?
At what point on the process do you get this message?
I'm talking about the hspl process btw.
If you don't have the right hspl (2.08) nothing else will work.
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face.....
Here is a few suggestions for the OP.
One try changing USB ports, try all ports on your computer.
Uninstall ActiveSync/WMDC and then reinstall it, make sure you download the latest vsrsion from Microsoft.
Try deleting all of your USB drivers and letting them reinstall when you connect your HD2 to your computer.
Try another USB cable if need be.
Finally try another computer if you can.
Create a Gold-card. It will bypass CID checks and allow you to flash. Just search for the topic here on XDA. If you can't get this resolved, I can also write a custom CID to the board via JTAG for you to fix this problem.
connexion2005 i will create a gold card and see if that works Thank you very much i will let you know if it doesn't work. how hard is it to create a CID?
Gold card :_(
The Gold Card is not doing anything, every time I do Vol Down and power the tricolor screen pops up and then goes to the white screen where it says "loading...." in blue but it doesn't move from there.... what should i do in that case?

I really hate to say it but I think you may have physical NAND problems. The NAND is where Windows Mobile or any OS that you flash to your HD2 is stored, or to help you understand it is where the ROM is flashed to when flashing a ROM. If the NAND chip has too many bad blocks it will not allow you to flash. seeimg as you have tried everything including a gold card, this is the only conclusion I can come up with. The only fix for a bad NAND chip is to replace the main board. Sorry to be the barrer of bad news.

Look in the HD2 Android Q&A and General foum or the HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A and General forum, I know I seen a thread on doing this in one of the two forums not too long ago. If you use search make sure to use advance search and select to only search thread titles, and if you can not find it through search than go page by page until you have went atleast 25 to 30 ages back just reading the thread titles. I am sure you can find it.

What can i do now?
Please guide me to solve it.
Thank you all.
1 - no need to extract the exe, just run it AS ADMINISTRATOR! (right click - run as admin)
2 - have you tried downloading it again?
3 - put the phone into bootloader manually before running the exe
4 - is your phone an unbranded wwe phone? and if not, do you have hspl installed?
I have the same problem.
Also a white screen when trying to launch and access only to the bootloader. I tried cleaning the mtty commands task 29 and task 2a is one bad block. when trying to upload hspl it comes out error. attempt to upload rom / radio through your computer to become the 1% or 4% and 270th error. As the card SD installs it stops when checking files and returns to the bootloader.
Data from the bootloader:
Rw, '.;'.; '.;'.; '. SS-BC
SPL-8G XE 2.08.HSPL
0x05
