[Q] which android is stablest? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

which android is stablest? There are many many different type of android. which one is stablest and most problen are fixed. at least, no freeze screen and hand after locking the hd2 . which one can do that. also which version of radio should i use

Honestly pal there isn't an answer to that question,
Radio really depends on your carrier everyone prefers different versions, is go with the latest 2.12
A several builds are as stable as each other
They get updated that often you just need to try them all
SHUBcraft bangster and hyperdroid are all stable, sod's etc can be tweakedout,

I could try to help if I knew what stablest meant.

buzz kill dude. but thanks i guess. ha!
OP - I've personally found the stock froyo builds to be more stable then the sense builds, I think that's pretty standard. Using bangsters right now, so far so good. And HyperDroid just had a major update so I'll be testing that out, his stuff is usually really good. Just gotta do some trial and error to see what works best for you buddy. Install a dif build, do a couple restarts, play around and see what works best. If it doesn't work out try something else, the beauty of Android on SD!

Oh look at the Grammar Nazis!
To OP, there is no answer, for me personally, Shubcraft versions and MattC/Sense1.7 are very stable. With all the others (and yes, I have tried them all)i had some problem somewhere unfortunately.
Just try whatever you can, and decide for yourself.

Most stable just sounds more correct to me.
I've found bangsters build to be stablest and most stable.

So far for me is the Hyperdroid 1.5. Works very well and no issues so far.

I've tried basically all of them and for me the winner by far is Shubcraft

they all suck. I tried froyo I tried couple builds my screen goes black and freezes.I'm about the sell the phone and go buy new phone these is garbage.

Newsflash: Android on the HD2 is in BETA and is made by talented individuals on their own time who are not being paid other than some donations. You don't like it, go buy a different phone or be happy with what you bought. Either way, do not post childish insults on this forum which is here to discuss and improve our phones.
You obviously don't have the patience or skill to complie your own build or to use different combinations of roms, radios and android builds to find something that is generally stable, as many of us have. Go buy an iPhone jackass.

Maybe you should try to disable auto brightness in winmo, then launch android? Idk, maybe it will fix that problem.

I agree, i've installed almost all the versions available out there, Bangsters version seems to be the most stable. Battery life is fantastic. I just concluded a 7 hour test, 30 calls lasting 2 mins each, played 10 Mins of asphalt 5, 30 mins of Homerun Baseball 3D, 20 Mins of What The Doodle (Yes it's addictive when you can draw), read 30 emails, replied 15 of them, 40 SMS incoming 40 Replies.. Battery from 8.30am till 7pm when I got home was at 32%. So I streamed my local carriers cable on my HD2 for a good 45 Mins, then it when flat. It's as good as HD2 on WinMo now, battery life that is based on my average usage. However, I still get some teething issues like dropping of HSPDA connection, no biggie, turn on flight mode, turn it off.. it comes back. No need to restart.
Screen freeze happens once in awhile, but it recovers after a few seconds. No more sleep of death.
We're on the way to a fully operational Android HD2, wish the auto screen brightness would work though.. lol..

question on all vogue-android builds

which is the most stable for everyday use right now? also what happened to this tattoo build for us on qvga, i don't see it anywhere?
If you want something truly stable and fast, use the standard Ion build. Other than that, most of the Ion/Cupcake builds are very good for use. Such as the xRom builds or something like that.
The tatoo/hero/pulse/etc. builds are in the works and are not really stable. The ones which are "stable" usually run kind of slow on our hardware. Even though they are definitely cool and look awesome. They aren't really practical for everyday use imo.

I'm using the motor build at 240 x 320 & 110 lcd density... very nice. A few hiccups but this looks like my fav build so far. Once you get to homescreen let it settle down for a bit and it works well. Gps, native camera.... need to figure out how to fine-tune this puppy
none of these builds are functional enough for me to use everyday, im soo disappointed. that and now i can't buy the hero until next year because of $$ issues. im stuck with the damn vogue and winmo hell.

Any of the Ion builds are great for use everyday. All you lack is bluetooth and MMS but Android makes up for that with its other benefits. Ion is perfectly stable and fast.
right now im running zens xrom and it seems to be pretty stable soo far. ill give it a go this weekend.

I would recommend using SPB Mobile shell 3.1 or 3.5 and then adding the Revolution theme. It's a rip off of the Hero UI and SPB Mobile shell is the MOST stable Today plugin that I have used to date.
They made it over in France so use this link to translate for you.
Sence le Revolution
You have root access through su. And to take a pic you can use the debugger in the sdk.
And hero runs sense ui just fine so no need to fake it.

What about the ion build? That's every day usable in my eyes. And I've had problems with Windows mobile locking up and missing calls even on a stock Rom/radio...but to me I see more complaints from you than anyone else. [Q] Good current android for beginner

Hi,
I wanted to have a look at android, but there are so many out there. Which ones are most current and are most complete?

Yeah, my question (or my intention, rather) was on which are more stable
they are all different for different people. shubcraft 1.5 works for me. may not work for you.
yeah you have the ones with HTC sence, and ones with out,
im using Froyostone at the sec, working very well for me
Yup...I went for the first recommendation - without sense. Looks pretty good, but not for daily use yet
Thanks!
Try hyperdroid. I use it as my daily and have no problems.

Just go for the most recently dated build and work from there.
I can also suggest Bangsters 1.2a as it's Vanilla 2.2 and is pretty responsive and relatively bug free. But like said the easiest if no the most convenient way is to try them all, no build is perfect and each has it's own defects but from what I have seen it can range from user to user.

Yup I would agree here. Even tho my DarkStone build is not one of the newer builds, it runs great, for me at least. I've tried a number of the other builds, but haven't found a real reason for changing from what I've got going. Updating the kernel on a regular basis keeps this build going strong.
Another conditional might be which ones work with HTC Sync. This is an absolute requirement for me personally. I've only tested a few Android builds, but so far only MattC's build works with Sync for me.
Yes I'm a total noob when it comes to this.... And I really don't want to brick my phone, which is the most fully featered 2.2 Version without sense for the HD2. And can somebody please send my an idots guide. PLease PM me deatils. I mean I've done WinMo Phones but nothing like this. Thanks for the Help.

What exactly is it you knew?
I prefer either Nexus One Froyo build from mccm (v1.0 or v1.5) or the very first Mdeejay eVo Sense build (v1). I find the mccm build to be the smoothest with the stock launcher or the new G2 launcher. The Mdeejay v1 build is the best of them all...with occasional data freezes, though. Outstanding battery if the data and wireless is fully active in WinMo.
I like HyperDroid by Pongster. I'm not a build expert, but I have tried about 4 different builds before deciding to stay with the HyperDroid/Ultimate build.
Seriously, its the ONLY build I've seen that doenst have a premature flash issue, bt issues, data connection issue, touchscreen freeze issues, etc. Every build I have tried has atleast one of those issues.
I'm fairly new to this scene but I learn quick and I was looking for a build that doesnt have issues and was stable. HyperDroid/Ultimate was for me.
It's really a matter of personal preference. Some people can deal with a premature flash, or bt connection issue. At this point, no one build is perfect. I'm having a slight problem with audio through my headphones in HyperDroid/Ultimate, but its a problem I can deal with.
So evaluate what you can and cannot live with in any one build and then ask YOURSELF "What's the Best android rom for hd2".

tried almost all of them but i must say from my experience either darkstone or mccm, with hastarin r7.2.they pretty good ,reliable and very fast
I shall enlighten all and put this misery to an end!
1) mccm SE 2.5
2) Watermelon
To me the best build so far is phireMOD SkinnyEVO v1.3 (10.7.10), and I'm using the Launcher Pro. It's really a very nice build, and the only thing that doesn't work correctly is the flash, is still premature. I am fan of Mjeeday and Darkstone builds, but after some time of use, or I've a bit of SOD, or when I answer a call, it takes long to listen the other side, etc. With PhireMOD with Launcher Pro, I'm really happy, and the battery drain is very low. And with that rom I don't need to use the setCPU and Juice Defender, because the battery is enough for one entire HARD day, where my data mobile is all the time on, and BT almost. And after 13 hours I still have around 20-25% of battery.
Another thing about this build, the benchmark is really nice, always higher than 1650. And it is a constant, not like the other builds, that you do it now and you got 1300 and after 1 min you got 1700. It is really stable.
Just check it.
Regards
Rui

Got a few questions

Im curious as to the performance of NAND on the HTC HD2 . Can you play games such as the regular angry birds ? Does it have troubles with animations ? Im currently on a Sprint TP2 running Android (NAND) and i like it a lot . with the exception of the week processor compared to that of the HD2 . Also , im having troubles keeping WiFi on during phone sleep even with the Sleep policy set to "Never" under advanced WiFi settings . Does that setting work for you guys running NAND android on the HD2 ? I'm debating if i want to buy the HD2 and fully run android or if i want to just go ahead and buy a Samsung Galaxy S despite its a lot more than HD2 (on ebay) my most likely choice is buying a broke one and fixing it .
Thanks for your time guys !

From my readings and from the YouTube videos thats what seems to be true ! but i always love to hear it direct from an end-user experience . Are there any troubles with stability in the Android NAND builds ? plus is Overclocking possible with the NAND builds ? thanks for the response !
Some roms are more stable than others. That's the case with every phone. I have been an android nand user for almost a year and its awesome. We also had one of the first ice ports and this phone is right at two years old! Overclocking is possible but I've never tried it. My phone is fast enough for me

If you use a rom such as Hyperdroid with the HD2, like said above, you will be blown away. The HD2 is fast, stable, and pretty much all working feature-wise.
The HD2 is a phone that I would still recommend to people, as it still keeps up with other competing phones.
Hope I could be of help.

Comparing quality of Galaxy with quality of Leo confrims that. Not to mention posibilty to install even xp on leo .
A recommended rom that is highly efficient in my opinion is Hyperdroid. I've been using this rom for over a year now and it has never failed me before. It is fast, stable, and efficient.

I also advise to use Hyperdroid ROM which is excellent in stability, speed and battery life. I use it since three monts and I am very satisfied with it. The only minus point by this rom is its font size selection and theme. But you change the dpi font size and have theme choser for that.

THANKS for your input im pretty convinced just by looking at the thread ! It looks wicked cant wait to get a job and buy my HD2 now xD i'll most likely flash a bunch of builds just to test drive them . but Hyperdroid will be my first to set a baseline for the rest . thanks again guys !
Look at this thread. It is useful to read before you look at the Rom threads.

There is no 'best ROM'. You'll have to try them out and find one for yourself. What works for one person won't necessarily work for another. Also, if you're going to respond to this directly come up with something better than 'oh I just want opinions' because all you have to do to find that is to look in the ROM thread at some of the posts and to look at the viewcount + post count of each ROM.
Try NexusHD2 CM9 HWA by TyTung
I don't think there is an ICS ROM with Sense. Sbryan 1124 has an alpha version of the 4.0.3 Sense 4 ROM from the One V but it's not fit for daily use. Try the NexusHD2 CM9 HWA by TyTung. It's vanilla ICS but it has very few issues

Also, if you're going to respond to this directly come up with something better than 'oh I just want opinions' because all you have to do to find that is to look in the ROM thread at some of the posts and to look at the viewcount + post count of each ROM.

thats why i said "but i want opinions on the best Sense rom and best ICS" which means i want opinions on why they think its the best, not just what i think is best.. i much rather hear what other people have to say about the rom. if i wanted on just tuned for me i would just make my own.

Lol i know that much, but when i tried sense roms i had some lag. But with the ICS roms i have more reliability, im using Nexus HD2 i like it but its been buggy on me where it doesnt notify me when i get a text so its kinda of making me go "eehh" to that rom for now.

Either way you look at it, 'best ROM' threads are wrong and there isn't an answer so why bother asking?

Having made my point about there being no best ROM, I can say that NexusHD2 works absolutely perfectly for me. I've been notified about every text and it's without doubt the fastest ROM I've tried for playing games and web browsing in particular. I won't say it's the best ROM because this is EXACTLY what I mean about 'what works for one won't necessarily work for another' but it's certainly good. Sense ROMs are in general slow, and you're not experiencing anything out of the ordinary. If you don't like one of them, chances are you're not going to like any of them.

I know what you mean, im sorry for mis-wording the thread, but i just like seeing opinions on Rom's before i try them. But if i dont like one sense rom doesnt mean i wont like a different one, every developer has there on way how they make their rom, so what could be in this rom could be completely different in this one, but hey thats the fun of making a rom. Also NexusHD2 my current daily use rom just because of how clean and stable it is, i probably messed something up to get the notification problem, but it has high potential along with paranoidandroid. but the main reason i like opinions on this subject is because maybe there is a underdog rom some where that isnt really get as much attention as the bigger ones right now that could be actually decent and what im looking for, or maybe and aspiring developer is making something.

I agree with you on wanting opinions I like to see the same... just ignore the above person because there is no where in the rules that's states this is wrong.....he just has nothing better to do..... anyway back on topic..... I have tried paranoid ( which I'm on and I LOVE) the later update allows alot of spirit changes that allow me to have everything to my liking... I have a half table half phone thing going on and its great. I tried aokp but I felt it was too buggy maybe after its off hold it will be better. I myself have been wondering about gb roms my self i haven't tried any hope this helps

The main reason i liked paranoidandroid was becaus of how stable it was and the uniqueness of the tablet phone. It looked nice and felt nice but the keyboard was a giant turn off and when i installed a different keyboard it would bug out like crazy and i couldnt find a way to fix it. But overall it has really good and clean.

Paranoidandroid 1.1a didn't work so well for me. The phone randomly restarted one day and was stuck at the boot screen for hours. NexusHD2 gets the job done for me. I can live with the bugs

Thats why Nexus HD2 is my daily use rom, the only bugs in it are small ones that will be worked out. but other than that its overall great, but personally parnoidandroid does have my attention because i like the whole hybrid style, just some kinks need to be ironed out.

I like the whole hybrid concept too. Is paranoidandroid 1.2a any better?

It definitely is IMO it has even more detail into what dpi's can be controlled and it has a new keyboard... the giant keyboard was a true turn off but I fixed that by adjusting the dpi for the keyboard and its great now I have hack zero reeboots or issues and battery life with juice defender and slightly oc is like 17 hrs moderate use for me

Whilst I'm not here to get into any sort of argument, I'd just like to point out that just because something isn't stated in the rules doesn't mean it's not wrong. Back on topic though, Paranoidandroid is really good and different from other ROMs, although as of when I tried it NexusHD2 was far more stable and I preferred it.
