Im curious as to the performance of NAND on the HTC HD2 . Can you play games such as the regular angry birds ? Does it have troubles with animations ? Im currently on a Sprint TP2 running Android (NAND) and i like it a lot . with the exception of the week processor compared to that of the HD2 . Also , im having troubles keeping WiFi on during phone sleep even with the Sleep policy set to "Never" under advanced WiFi settings . Does that setting work for you guys running NAND android on the HD2 ? I'm debating if i want to buy the HD2 and fully run android or if i want to just go ahead and buy a Samsung Galaxy S despite its a lot more than HD2 (on ebay) my most likely choice is buying a broke one and fixing it .
Thanks for your time guys !
HTC hd2 will blow you away. Its awesome honestly. Everything works very quickly and there are tons of options for hd2.

From my readings and from the YouTube videos thats what seems to be true ! but i always love to hear it direct from an end-user experience . Are there any troubles with stability in the Android NAND builds ? plus is Overclocking possible with the NAND builds ? thanks for the response !
Some roms are more stable than others. That's the case with every phone. I have been an android nand user for almost a year and its awesome. We also had one of the first ice ports and this phone is right at two years old! Overclocking is possible but I've never tried it. My phone is fast enough for me

If you use a rom such as Hyperdroid with the HD2, like said above, you will be blown away. The HD2 is fast, stable, and pretty much all working feature-wise.
The HD2 is a phone that I would still recommend to people, as it still keeps up with other competing phones.
Hope I could be of help.

Which ROM's would you recommend for Extreme speed and stability while still retaining the latest and greatest features of android , like Gingerbread and later ROMs.

Is this true !? wouldnt expect that !! plus i think 5MP camera is good enough lol . video is something a lot of people hardly use on their cell phones , no matter the quality , the only way to get a good video is by using optical zoom . and phones wont have that due to keeping it slim

Comparing quality of Galaxy with quality of Leo confrims that. Not to mention posibilty to install even xp on leo .
A recommended rom that is highly efficient in my opinion is Hyperdroid. I've been using this rom for over a year now and it has never failed me before. It is fast, stable, and efficient.
If your interested, I'll post a direct link to the rom here.
Once again, hope I could be of help.

I also advise to use Hyperdroid ROM which is excellent in stability, speed and battery life. I use it since three monts and I am very satisfied with it. The only minus point by this rom is its font size selection and theme. But you change the dpi font size and have theme choser for that.

THANKS for your input im pretty convinced just by looking at the thread ! It looks wicked cant wait to get a job and buy my HD2 now xD i'll most likely flash a bunch of builds just to test drive them . but Hyperdroid will be my first to set a baseline for the rest . thanks again guys !
Look at this thread. It is useful to read before you look at the Rom threads.

do u have any custom roms on it? i personally expected the performance to be better when i had the stock rom. but then after flashing a while, i love the blackstone.. so try custom roms maybe untill u find one that gives u the performance that u like on it.
i do not have a custom rom.. was afraid of stability /security problems.. do they really make the hd faster?
Yeah really do they make hd faster? If yes which one is the best for normal usage??
The ROM:s here @ xda are the main reason I did not sell/scrap my HD long ago. With stock ROM, I think this unit is slow, ugly and just bad.
Look around, a lot of ROM:s here are sooo much faster than stock. I promise you will never go back.
For the best speed experience, I recommend using a 6.1 ROM with 2.1 Manila. I can not point out any speficic one obvious, take a look in the charts already suplied in the ROM part of this forum.
I am using a win 6.5 ROM for the moment, but speed is a bit lower.
Good luck!
try using a wm 6.5 based energy rom 2.1 manila
it will change ur whole outlook of ur hd........

I agree. The stock rom is a piece of Sh*t. After swapping to a custom ROM, you'll never look back. Don't be disheartened if you get one with glitches. Just keep trying different ones until you are happy with one.
The first couple of times it may seem slow and cumbersom changing ROM's but after a while you realise how easy it really is. Just remember to backup important data first.
Good luck
seriouslly even if i use a latest stock rom?
i just dont understand why can folks like us make a better rom than htc themselves ..

Haha you're a senior member here but you don't get it. Custom roms on XDA is the reason why I choose HTC and windows mobile. I used to hate windows mobile alot, but once I found out about its portability, customizing my phone has been my hobby. Thanks to XDA, the crappy old hermes I had made my friends jealous.
On why folks like these guys here can make a better rom than htc, you have to flash one to find out. I once read an article from mircosoft that reads something like this "microsoft cant live with XDA-devs, but at the same time, can't live without them".
Try one but make sure u follow the steps especially the Olinex part. Good luck

I own WinMo devices since HTC Wallaby. I am not very long with HD, just recently bought it.
My Opinion WinMo is like Windows on your desktop, after while it gets slower and slower and Reformat (hard reset) is the best thing to do to bring it back.
I also would suggest you to use one of the cooked ROMs here. Again my Opinion W6.5 is eye candy and my own experience is that is not that Stable, and fast as WinMo 6.1 ROMs. Furthermore I really don’t see jet the major usability improvement in 6.5
I am business user and I need a very stable Device. I flashed with this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537948 very happy with it
hahaha good one bout me being senior..
yes i know .. i just dont understand why the companies themselves dont strive to make the best one lol
and for the rom..
yes buddy i used the same as u ...3.55 but how do i get the usual start menu back..
Again most 6.5 roms are very stable now and are ready for everyday use, if you are after a fast rom that is similar to your default rom, try Topix 2.9.2, it is currently the fastest ROM running 6.1 according to speed tests = Search the forums for performance tests.
http://www.pocketpc-live.com/touch-hd/best-rom-for-htc-touch-hd.html
You will be more than happy flashing the latest 6.5 roms, just make sure you don't get any manila 2.5/2.6 roms as people have previously expressed they are still not as stable as the 2.1 roms.
Research, read and flash which rom you feels best suits your needs, or looks the nbest etc. In the end not everyone has same tastes, so you may find that you flash a few roms before settling on one you really like. By then you will probably have become a flashaholic like everyone else. Either way you'll have a better phone.

In case u haven't gotten d hint yet, there's absolutely no way any1 here on xda can recommend a ROM for any1..Why u ask? cuz we all use our phones differently so go out there, download a bunch of ROMs, grab a flask (or more) full of coffee n start flashing n testing...Then find what works for you...Sheesh!!
P.S. Make sure you READ, READ & READ the flashing instructions over n over again else u end up with an expensive paper weight...

Some thoughts
I am somewhat a newbies in the Android on HTC HD2 field and definitely a noob on this forum.
You know what is my goal? I'd like to put a post on what I consider to be the best ROM and a glossary on all the technical terms once I have more understand on how this whole thing work. IMHO, there is way too many choices when it come to picking a Android ROM on HTC HD2. And it is very hard for a newcomer to pick one simply because the person would not know what is the difference and what should look for.
{What's the pros and cons between SD and NAND? What is "CWM", "MAG", "cLK", "A2SD", "MAGLDR", "ZIP", "DAF"...etc and how each affects a ROM? What is a good ROM to recommend and what to avoid? What is the most stable ROM so far and what ROMs are considered to be faster?}
Many of these above questions may seems common sense or just a matter of choice to you, who have more experience on the matter, but surely a different case to people with little experience.
I am not trying to offense anyone. I am only advocating for some patient and some tolerance toward people obviously can use some helps. I understand one can always research one's way out, but if you have the time and the will to help, why not drop off some advises and directions to reduce the needed time for research and make this forum a more loving place? Your efforts are greatly appreciated and are recognized by other users.
Just my 2 cents
Anyone noticing an abundance of these redundant threads? Seriously, I'm hoping this just happens to be a coincidence of such a bunch new users trying to install android. If this keeps up then it might even be wise to restore that thread about best HD2 roms, or even make one.
And one thing I hate is people who actually accommodate for these requests or if we do. The new user isn't learning anything at all, except an answer handed to him on a silver platter, and having learnt nothing, they'll just continue in their "ignorant" ways.

MDJ's, and Dandiest's Roms seem to run quite smoothly with the NAND build.
I would definately suggest a nand rom, i just have probs with my rom-zip...
I used MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 v2.6 (22 JAN) for a month.
I'm very happy on it. Fast, Smooth, and stable.
Definitely MDJ's Cyanogenmod 7 2.6 - Its the best NAND for me
I also use MDJs CyanogenMod 7 and I'm very happy with it
If your looking for speed i can recommend Sergio Coredroid 1.3 there is no faster build than this at present.

Well tha completley depends on what you define as "best" and "good" as opinions are subjective and stability differs from user to user and device to device.
Go try some and see which YOU find "good" or the "best" and you will then have your answer
anybody has a really good experience tethering with mdj or dandiest roms?.....trying 2 learn from u guys first to speed things up....so anybody? thanks guys.
Hands down the best rom is the one in my sig. It's crazy fast alot of customizing options. Pretty awesome battery life if you turn off what you don't use.

As pointed out you will get many posts claiming the rom they are using is the absolute best/fastest/most stable etc etc etc, but in reality it's just the absolute best for their needs. There's only one way to find the best rom today for you and that's to try a few out and decide what's BEST for you. Unless you also ask all of your friends which is the best girl to date/marry
If there was such a thing as the 1 best rom, then it would be the only one everyone was using and all other devs would just pack up and move on, but the reality is that each rom has it's group of ardent followers and they feel that rom meets their needs, but which most probably will not be what it is that you need in a rom. That's the reason why these threads are completely pointless as all you get are fanboi's claiming "mine's bigger/better than yours". At the end of the day after 50+ posts you are still none the wiser as to which one is best.
hi guys.
So i have wp 7.5 nand and im kinda getting bored of it even though its stability is amazing(also speed) and i have android on my sd but all theses sd roms arent that satisfying so i am considering moving to android nand.
ive seen many nand roms that look amazing and my question is if i install nand on it will it be the same as a native android device (speed, stability,.battery etc...)
and do u think i should do that change?
if yes then please recommend some roms with eachs specialty
thanks
Note: i install many apps like 200+ thats why sd builds never agree with me, so also consider that(i have searched, watched videos but...)

But android has come along way on nand and in some cases outperforms alot of phones(this is a 2yr old device but still a beast ;-) ) but just try a few roms and choose one. Grab the hd2 toolkit for your system partions and cwm, and off you go!!

[20.Feb.2012] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.3-CM9 V1.4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860)... its great... but there are some small glitches... like I can'e edit the contacts from the default People app, I can send MMS (could be my configuration problem), cant change the default app once I check the box in the pop up, battery performance is poor (lasts only 12-15hrs)...
But its really smooth and fully functional...
Why can't one search the forum before asking this Question !!!!!!!!!!!
I am sure there are more than 10 threads with the same question..
whats the best ROM is a lot like asking whats the best flavor ice cream. (butter pecan personally) lol. The point is whats the best in our, the communities eyes don't always match up with one another. This is because what i want on my ROMs you may not and vise versa. The more details you give the better someone may point out a ROM they like that they might feel you will enjoy too.
If you want something a little older thats really fast and reliable one might point out RAFDROID HD. If you want something a little newer maybe running Gingerbread i would suggest CoreDroid GB. If you want sense 3.0/3.5 i feel Team Blue Droid V3.6 runs pretty smooth and they have a themed version under development. I would check out youtube and type in HD2 roms. Watch a few and try and get an idea of what your looking for. There is a great site found here that list many of the Android ROMs for the HD2. It tells you some basic info about each one like if it has sense, what build and when it was updated. Take awhile looking over each one and read some of the comments in that thread to try and get an idea of what you'll be getting. Hopefully then you'll be able to make a great choice on the perfect ROM for you.
