Trying to download a 1 meg app. I have 91% storage free and package installer is telling me I don't have enough space. My phone is rooted but not running anything crazy. Just superuser and mybackup?
The app is Rdio. Weird is that this is the only app so far giving me trouble. I've installed this app before too...
Anyone else get this problem?
Update: I wiped my data and reinstalled everything via market rather than MyBackup Pro. Will be using Titanium Backup from now on.

Had the same issue trying to install NFS:Shift. Had to remove a bunch of other apps first before I could install it and then I had to reinstall everything. The issue won't be resolved until Froyo is available and we can put apps on our SD.
But there's 380 megs free... its a 1 meg app I don't need apps 2 sd

try miui with a2sd support
APP2SD is already installed.
and it refairs that apps are on SD!
any solution?
which rom do you use? if your rom supports a2sd, download a2sdgui from market and move dalvik cache to sd using this app.
I seem to have the same issue. Using imilka Incredible S 1.1 Rom, and a 32gb Patriot card, with a 1gb ext4 partition. However, when I run a2sdgui, it says no ext partition detected.
It looked like gparted created it ok, but maybe there is a problem. I have about 237mb total phone storage, which is running out!
I get this error when I have file system errors.
not sure how to solve it on a partition though.

I have gotten this on occassion during an app download/install from the market.
I have simply ignored it, and tried the download again until it succeeded.
I have no clue why it happens, but in my case, it is nothing more than an annoyance.
FWIW, I am utilizing a 2048G SD-Ext4, with lots of room.

It appears that HTC made the app storage on this phone limited to ~150 megs and I see a lot of people deleting apps or clearing data from apps to fix. Does any custom partition utility exist for this phone? App so files are killing me. Thx for any pointers.

notenoughspace if you're feeling risky. learn it before you use it otherwise you'll be SOL if you didn't make a backup. useful to move data to emmc instead of sd. otherwise cleaners like one click or sd maid are for routine cleaning if you wish to be safe
Cool, thx for the tip!

Check out link2sd on the market. It allows you to move apps dalvik and libraries to a ext2/3/4 extension. It also has a setting to automaticly move new apps to the extension. I have about 55 apps installed and have about 113mb free.
Do these affect the standard apps2sd, or get wiped in a flash? When I ran into this,it was a game with "additional content " , which gave the option of storing on the sd instead.
I was wondering why I was having those low space notifications. I'll try these out.

Notenoughspace doesn't work (well) with GB but GB native app2SD moves the app lib folders which I don't remember previous versions doing this. Still I'm low space even though I have 580 megs free on internal storage. Wish there was a way to resize these partitions but I know this is very tricky. Just a pain to deal with space issues when I have so much free internal space that is unused.
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
To clarify notenoughspace works for cache/databases/files but doesn't work with lib data on GB since it recreates these on reboot so still a really nice utility.

I've been using NotEnoughSpace with the Business GingerSense 3.0 ROM with no problems. It's great for those apps that store lots of databases and files in the /data/data partition.
Yeah, moving cache to /cache seems to work with most but moving databases and files seems to break a lot of apps. Also, remember to backup apps if you use this since nandroid backups don't include the /cache partition.

I eliminated my low space issues by doing the following:
FACEBOOK: Clear cache / Deleted Data
FACEBOOK for HTC SENSE : clear cache / Deleted Data
ADOBE AIR : Uninstalled
ADOBE FLASH: Uninstalled the Updates
HTC MAIL: Clear cache / Deleted accounts / Deleted Data
This solved my problem... I installed K9 mail and allowed Flash to update and the issue has not returned.... yet!
Lego
Yeah, Adobe's a huge culprit. No app2sd and huge lib's. Also, AIR apps are sensitive to even moving cache. If you look you'll see AIR cert/sigs in data cache for these.

I flashed the CM7 Epicmtd selfkang 12/13 build today and i am noticing that certain apps that i have purchased and free ones as well give me an error "insufficient space on the phone" i am attaching a screenshot of it. I checked the internal storage at its indicating i have 433mb of free space. Can you anyone help? I wiped data / cache and dalvik 3x prior of flashing this build. The ROM I was using before was cm7 Epic selfkang 11/24 build (BML).
Your phone has very limited space for app storage. You need to either delete unused apps or move whichever apps that will go to the sd card.

I had the same problem all u got to do is wipe ur cache & dalvik. I looked in the cm7 thread but it took awhile go thru and read all the posts but it was worth it.

No. I know what your problem is now. You have pieces of those apps still on your phone causing that error. It happened to me with the ebay app and youtube. You need to use root explorer to search your phone storage for any filename with the name of the app. For example youtube. You may find files like com.android.youtube. or simiiliar. You will need to delete those remnants and then you should be good.

Thanks for info, but still a no go. I deleted all the files associated with the app using root explorer till the built in search didn't turn up any results. I read a post from another user with this ROM having trouble installing apps larger than the size of the cache partition, so I'm guessing that could be it. Just unsure....

Yeah bro... the cache partition is where Market tries to put the download and if you are on current CM7 MTD your cache is 25MB total. That's a no go for some apps on the market. You can see your cache size and free space by running df -h in term emulator.
You can:
1. Restore app with Ti if you had it installed before and backed up in Ti
2. Wait for next version of CM7 MTD and hope cache partition is bigger (would require a fresh CM7 install as it will redo partitions (eg fdisk'ing will wipe them clean))
3. Go back to non MTD ROM and get app installed and backed up with Ti so you can restore it once you go back onto CM7 MTD

Thanks for the confirmation, I will do the steps you provided for the apps I really can't live without haha. Hope the next build has more space than 25mb in the cache.

I'm sure it'll be adjusted, seems like I've heard the 25MB Cache partition was more proof of concept. But I'm not one of the devs so take it with a grain of salt
I found another work around. If you could get a hold of the apk, then it'll install.
I used my wife's phone to download Frontline Commando, pulled it with Total Commander (or your favorite file explorer) and copied it over. It installed fine.
The file was 27.## MB.
Sneezy is right, that will work if you have a spare device.

Hello. I have a U8000 with Aurora 4.0.
I tried to upload a file with 700MB to Google Drive when my smartphone crashed. I restarted it releasing the battery.
When it turned on, the internal memory for applications was almost full. I had to unnistal some applications to free space.
Probably the Google Drive uses the internal memory as cache before uploading the files. I already searched for some big file without luck.
Anyone can tell me the location of the Google Drive cache files?
Thanks in advance.
Idk where it may use but u can clear cache in programs. Or simply use app2sd (needs root).

Ty.
I forgot to say that i already cleared the normal app cache, and unnistalled Drive, but the free space still the same.
The file must be somewhere, but i dont find it.

Try something like:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mNvbS5sZXZlbG9rbWVudC5zdG9yYWdlYW5hbHlzZXIiXQ..
If you don't have enough space to install it, uninstall some apps first...
New and wierd problem. When i try to update my apps. I get a insuficient storage warning. Wierd because i still have 8gb of free storage.
Anyone had thism problem?

I'm exactly the same as you. A few apps, mainly games kick up this error, and short of a full wipe I have no idea how to fox it!
Happened on both my N4 and N10 and they both have loads of free space left over

Have you tried to fix permissions, clear cache and reboot?
I think the issue is that the way storage is carried out makes it seem like there isn't any extra because there are 3 or more folders that contain all of the data on the user partition of the flash storage. under mnt/ there is SDcard, but also you'll find emulated, 0, legacy and sometimes 0/0 or others. These should all be only virtual folders or links to other folders, but I think that's doing something. I ran into it a few days ago and after a permissions fix and cache clear and reboot I got it to start updating again. It's doing it again now though.
yep, I fixed permissions and cleared cache. It really might be as simple as something changing the permission for the Play store to write data, which would probably look like a full partition. Anyway it worked and I'm updating and downloading again.
If you are rooted, try deleting the .odex file for that specific app in data/app or system/app.
If your rooted you can also just launch lucky patcher. It delete unused odexes automatically.
