Could WM sense causes freeze and unresponsive in Android sense? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Could WM sense causes freeze and unresponsive in Android sense? When I have WM sense(EnergyROM with sense) and Android build any without sense, Android would run fast, stable, and responsive. However, when I have WM sense with any Android build with sense, Android would freezes and unresponsive.
Any ideas to this?

Android 1.1 blue keyboard

Hello guys. I'm fairly new to this whole android os. it works fine for me except the keyboard is really annoying. its slow to respond. I'm not sure if the problem is a result of my phone. I have an Htc vogue running android 1.1 pls help. I really like the android platform and if I can get the keyboard to work right that'll be great.
1.1 was designed to have a hardware keyboard, if your running the latest kernel you could try overclocking and see if it makes it better for you. Android 1.5 or 'cupcake' contains a keyboard in the userspace as well we've been able to get the new HTC keyboard working on the android kernel as well. Check our posts in the last couple pages of the other android thread.

Twitter tab in Manila 2.1?

Manila 2.1 running on WM 6.1 is currently, indisputably (much) faster than 2.5 on WM 6.5. For intensive use, the difference is enormous to me and certainly enough to stick to the 2.1/6.1 combo until the great cooks start working their magic and optimizing everything.
That aside, after having used Dutty's Leo R5 for a few days, with numerous problems, I really miss the beautifully implemented, simple Twitter tab. I'm now running Dutty's WM6.1 v4.3 Final, which is blazingly fast in comparison but, naturally, doesn't have the fancy new Twitter functionality. Is there any way at all to get this into Manila 2.1? If there's anything I can do to help, I'm game. I've just tasted the feature and can't let go of it!

On screen keyboard lag on Energy ROM

Okay, I have been ignored on the Rom's thread (thrice). I am using the latest Energy Rom, and have a lag in between keystrokes (can only type 2 a second, w/ Dutty, was much much faster). It happens w/ IE and Opera (9.5, beta 2, doesn't matter. all other applications (word, text messaging, email) all work fine.
Any clues?
I'm experiencing this problem with ALL 6.5 roms, they're just all very slow! I always keep coming back to 6.1, even stock 6.1 roms are a lot faster than every 6.5 rom i ever tested.
So....I'm the only one having this issue????
It seems to be like that on all roms. Download the Finger Keyboard from here, it's a lot faster than the regular keyboards.

windows mobile 6.5 and 6.5.x

what is the difference between those two? and IF i have 6.5 is it possible to upgrade to 6.5.x [if there's any adavantage]
thanks
i believe the x either stands for professional version of windows or the amount of memory (1024 mgb) just a guess though
Actually the difference is that WM6.5 is the mass market currently released version of WM. 6.5.X denotes to the latest Sys builds from microsoft, basically the next version of WM. There is currently 6.5.3 & 6.5.5 which add features like threaded email, larger more touch friendly menus & the start button is on the bottom of the screen. The context buttons that you use are larger too.
The main purpose of 6.5.X series was to take advantage of the touch screen based PPCs that have been coming out by making it easier to use WM without a stylus. Especially if any more capacative WM devices are released.
As for upgrading, there is no official upgrade but most custom roms in the development area are using 6.5.3/5 currently so that will be the best way to go. When we first started using those I didn't like the large buttons but it's grown on me now and I won't go back to plain jane 6.5.
One last thing to take into account though is that 6.5.X builds are not as 100% stable as 6.5 based roms seeing as how 6.5.X is still in development. I have never had any issues but others have said that 6.5 is faster and such. On this phone it doesnt really make a difference.
The thing i really don't like about 6.5.x is the bubbly buttons and start menu button at the bottom of the screen, they just look tacky IMO and eat up more screen real estate, I've not had problems hitting the current smaller and flat buttons on 6.5.
I've not looked much into 6.5.x to find out if there's a way to revert that back to the 6.5 "classic" style
The bubbly buttons remind me of the "Fischer Price" style apps that used to be somewhat common years ago. They just look tacky and ugly as hell, there's a reason a standard user interface was developed.

Windows 6.5 with sense 2.5 vs SPB Mobile Shell? Which is faster?

I have used several ROMs with sense 2.5 for its quick link facility. I use lots of Medical tools with my HD. But as HD is well outside the capabilities for Sense 2.5 was designed. And I feel it is very slow for everyday use sometimes.
I have used Win 6.5 Titanium with SPB Mobile shell. There are many themes which simulate sense 2.5 with shortcut functionality. For example HTC PURE STYLE 3 from Mobilecustom.fr. There are even win Mobile 7 like skins from Proplus.
I feel some speed gain but not sure whether it is my mind due to bias.
Which combo is faster???? Post your experiences!
using additional application such as SPB Mobile Shell will slow down your HD because of additional RAM consumption. i think standard ROM (no addtional application installed when there're existing application which do the same function) will speed up your HD.
wrong section needs to go in general.
try NRGZ Standard Reference ROM - it's wm6.5+standard sense 2.5
then just install GFXBoost, and get BSB Tweaks and tick all of the graphics boosting boxes, and it should be quite zippy. but try different ROMs - different chefs focus on different things, some on features, others on speed. but there are definitely builds out there with speed.
personally, MS3.5.3 is way too laggy and the features, skins and themes aren't as elegant as Sense 2.5...there is always something not quite as good as sense.
for example - the calendar is not as flexible, smooth or as nice to use as the Sense 2.5 version.
Is there a way to implement quick links or shortcuts in Home page of manila 2.1?
black new
tries Black new V 2.5 Manilla fastest ROM that I had 38%
Winner is SPB Shell. Down load a rom without HTC Sense or manila. Test it by yourself. I got at least 100m RAM left after SPB Shell (70-80m with manila) .
You can also customize the short cuts for it (3 to 5 pages with 10 to 15 shortcuts for each page. It should be enough for your needs.
I have tried few ROMs up to now including Energy, Stonehedge, Kenia and KWBR. I always felt that SPB MS with WIN 6.5 is quite snappy and fast though I love the interface of Sense more.
I've been using Mobile Shell 3.5.5 lately with kwbr's WM6.5 and Manila 2.1 (no Sense) - very impressed. So impressed in fact, that I'm looking for a snappy WM6.1 ROM to use it on as I think this would cover everything I'm looking for!
You should try KWBR's titanium ROM with SPB MS. No point installing a ROM with manila unless you want to switch between two interfaces.
ok, this is useless thread number 23984723492...
As you can see from the responces, there are a lot of possible good and fast roms.
However you just need to try and see what you like best!
Some people say it is 'fast' when it is 'smooth' others sit by their rom with a stopwatch to determen if it's fast...
Oh, and this is not related to rom development, just to the HD so -> subforum general!
