Hi just wondering if anyone has experienced issues with their Wizard not recognizing their miniSD at times. I have a Sandisk 2gb miniSD and it was flawless the first 2 weeks, but now I'm finding that sometimes when I take it out to put in my card reader (to transfer DVDs quicker, async 4.1 way too slow) and put it back in again or when doing a soft reset it is not recognized. This is somewhat of a pain as I don't realize it until I get a phone call and my custom ring tones don't work (I have my tones in the miniSD) and it reverts back to the default windows ring tone. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else is seeing the same thing and if this is an issue in that my card may be slowly crapping out or if this just a normal thing. I'd say this happens to about a 3rd of the time now...
Hi,
I have one of 6 P4350's that go into a "hibernation" mode after being idle for about an hour or so. If the phone is called, the caller will hear it ringing, but the handset does not ring. If the power button is depressed or the slider opened during the ringing, the device will start to ring.
When it is this mode, it will not accept SMS or give a missed calls notification.
Has any had any similar experiences?
Thanks
What do you mean by you have 1 of 6? My 4350 goes into a hibernation mode; they all should.
Anyways have you tried to hardreset it?
We have 6 4350s and I own one, but all 6 give the same problem. I agree that it should go into power save mode, but after being in this mode for about an hour it will not ring when called.
Yes, we have hard reset them with no success. After a hard reset, the device boots and then a customisation process runs. Is there any way to prevent this process from running?
So all 6 have the problem of not ringing when asleep? I find that very amazing that you have 6 devices that are not working correctly. Perhaps its a setting but I don't recall ever seem a setting of this nature on my phone. Do you know what ROM version you are running? Have you tried a different providers SIM in the phone?
Yep,
All six give the same problem. Strange thing is that they run 2 different ROM versions.
We got our provider to run some checks and they can "page" the phone from the switch and it responds, but yet will not ring. I will try a SIM from another provider and see if that solves the problem.
I seem to have the same problem on my new P4350.
After being idle for some time, for example when i get up in the morning, it doesnt receive incoming phone calls. And a hard reset did not help either.
Do you already know the solution to this problem?
The same with me... on WM6
The Solution
Well, it seems to work again.
But i don't really know how i solved it
It's one of three things:
1. I changed a setting which said to automatically switch of the device after three minutes or so.
2. After calling my telco provider they said that i should switch of my phone for at least 10 minutes each day so that the SIM card has up-to-date network information.
3. I installed a new SIM card, which was necessary because of a new subscription.
I think that the first solution did not really help, since i think that after i changed that the phone still didnt work a few times. Same for the second solution.
But after i installed the new SIM card, it has not happened once
"Knockin on wood"
Hope this can help some of you in solving this problem.
Ive recently had problems where when my memory card is inserted into the phone it shows no SMS or MMS option when you press the button to enter into the message area. However when i remove the memory card suddenly it reappears. Also when the memory card is inserted i receive no messages! Im using Schaps ROM, i have fully reinstalled it hopeing it would solve the problem however it has not. Any suggestions?
Hey, i had that too when i had the trinity but it fixed itself, wish i could help you but i think someone will come up with a solution.
I have the same problem here. I have a 4 GB micro sd in an mini sd adapter and all of a sudden my compleet card was deleted. after some resetting and playing, everything was back all of a sudden except the mail/mms/sms function.
What i did to solve it was take out the sd card and go to the sms inbox and then put back in the card. After this it was working again. Lets hope it wount come back.
Anybody else with a better solution?
Regards Hyuned
It is back, I miss some files on my card also. and not receiving anything and the messages do come in somehow as they dont come later when its working.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..
Hope some one has a solution.
Has anyone suffered this problem? Phone rings, I pick up the call, the screen shows connected and starts the call timer but you cant hear anyone the other end. hang up the call and the phone freezes with only a soft reset (taking battery out) works. I have a T-Mobile contract handset and was running the 1.43 rom. I thought maybe flashing to another rom might help so tried the 1.48 update but still having problems. I have hard reset and installed no software but still have the problem. Any ideas guys.....
Since I cant see this problem on the forum I'm guessing its hardware related. I guess I'm going to have to find the original T-Mobile rom and flash it back before returning.
hey, I had the same problem and had even started a thread today. I went for broke and did a hard reset and this has solved it. Back up all your info and hard reset and pronto good to go!!
I wish it was that easy for me. I have hard reset 3 times, the last time I didnt install any software just in case one of my apps was causing the problem.
Everything seemed fine for a day or so then someone called me and it crashed again.

it has happen to me 2 times in one month, first time i was listening some musique some one call and as soon the call ended it Freeze.
Another time the phone was on stand by and some one call, and could not answer the phone just freeze.
Why why why Is HTC brilliant
I have the same problem with my WWE HD2. It seems to be linked to music playback off a slow microSD card. I used to get the bug with a Class 2 16GB card if I happened to be listening to music while I received the phone. After tha call ended the playback would resume normally but after a while it would start to stutter (reminds me of a similar bug in the original Diamond, infact) and eventually stop. After that, the phone would just stop responding to any inputs.
After popping in a Class 6 8GB card the issue is gone.

Interesting you mention listening to music but for me the crash happens when the phone is in standby, caller id shows, then I hit the answer button and the call timer starts but I cant hear the caller. From then on, I can hang up and then a complete freeze. I wasnt listening to any music, the ring tone is on the phones memory not sd card, so not sure about the sd card connection. After my last HR I didnt install any software except resco file explorer and microsoft my phone. I still get a crash.
I was going to return the phone back to tmobile for repair but it sounds like its software related rather than hardware.
Flash,
Have a look at this thread...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468284 , act on it and see if it helps. Phone lockup in the way you described happened to me a couple of times when I first had the phone; no problems now.

Me too. i didn't had this problem with Rom 1.43
Found solution guys! It was me not closing down the radio before pulling the headset out. I have not experienced the issue anymore.

What do you mean by "not closing down the radio" ?
Daniel
Sorry, I forgot the FM bit. In the past I used to listen to the FM Radio and pull the headphones out and the handset I thought automatically closed the FM app down. Any calls recieved on the handset after this would hang the HD2 after picking up the call. Up until the phone rang the HD2 would perform as normal, it was just an incomming call that triggered a crash. You could even make an outgoing call without a problem!
Now I close the FM app (by using the standbye icon on the app) first, then pull the headphones out. Not had the issue again.
Not solved for us that this happens to everytime... i can reset myphone and try to call right after the reset and it still happens.... I cant make a call or recieve a call at all lol
I had the same problem with radio rom 2.06.50.04 and 2.07.50.27 and miri's rom 6.5 v4.0.
Flashing to dutty's HG v0.8 rom with radio rom 2.07.50.27 solved it.
I had the problem with Dutty's v.06 and now have it with RoMEoS Rom....Don't think it is the Rom, and thought it was an app I isntalled until the OP said that he still had the problem with it even with no apps installed...

You might wanna try some different radio roms. Not really sure if it helps, but I guess the radio rom deals with calls etc.
Hmmm alright I will try that, I didn't think the radio rom's would freeze the phone...but I will try that as soon as I can get home.
Dears,
I have the following problem for 2 weeks now:
I copied a ringtone mp3 to the SDcard and set it as default (game of thrones theme), since then the phone is not playing ANY ringtones, it's only playing the default very annoying ring. Even when I try to setup a factory ringtone it's the same, sometimes after the setup of a new ringtone, the first caller rings with the saved tone but the second goes to the default. It's terribly annoying.
Facts:
- I have the phone for 6 months now, no issues
- From the very beginning I used custom ringtones, no issues
- My ringtone was on the SDcard but the results are the same when I copy them on the phone internal memory
- Upgraded to Gingerbread and it's still the same problem
What did go wrong?
How on earth can it malfunction from one day to the other with a change of a ringtone?
Any help is more than welcomed!
Regards,
Crusader
Okay, this solved my problem, however I still find it strange that you need to basically strip your phone to make it work. Maybe one of my apps caused the issue, I don't know, anyway.
Bought a new micro SD so I don't have to format the old, did a factory reset, put new mSD in, copied a ringtone and it was working, I tried several times, it's solved. Than I started to basically rebuild my phone but that's another issue.
One advice: don't do this when you are roaming and you don't have a wifi connection Blur can really trick you
