Dears,
I have the following problem for 2 weeks now:
I copied a ringtone mp3 to the SDcard and set it as default (game of thrones theme), since then the phone is not playing ANY ringtones, it's only playing the default very annoying ring. Even when I try to setup a factory ringtone it's the same, sometimes after the setup of a new ringtone, the first caller rings with the saved tone but the second goes to the default. It's terribly annoying.
Facts:
- I have the phone for 6 months now, no issues
- From the very beginning I used custom ringtones, no issues
- My ringtone was on the SDcard but the results are the same when I copy them on the phone internal memory
- Upgraded to Gingerbread and it's still the same problem
What did go wrong?
How on earth can it malfunction from one day to the other with a change of a ringtone?
Any help is more than welcomed!
Regards,
Crusader
Okay, this solved my problem, however I still find it strange that you need to basically strip your phone to make it work. Maybe one of my apps caused the issue, I don't know, anyway.
Bought a new micro SD so I don't have to format the old, did a factory reset, put new mSD in, copied a ringtone and it was working, I tried several times, it's solved. Than I started to basically rebuild my phone but that's another issue.
One advice: don't do this when you are roaming and you don't have a wifi connection Blur can really trick you

Hey guys,
I'm new here!
After years of reading this site (ever since my orange SPV-1 days) a have now stumbled across a problem I just can't seem to fix by myself.
My MDA pro (Dutch T-Mobile, original ROM) has an appointment in it that has somehow made itself invisible. I know this probably sounds weird, but it's the only way I can describe it.
On every soft-reset my MDA starts buzzing and plays the appointment notification sound. It's not a big deal, just very annoying when the device has to be reset. I tried removing all my appointments, but unfortunately that didn't help.
I really don't want to hard-reset my device over this.
Anybody here even experienced (and maybe even solved 8)) the same problem?
I had the same issue and though i was the only one.. I actually had it twice on my O2Exec.. Drove me nuts. the annoying sound starts on boot and it takes time till you can stop it.
Install Memaid app or some other application that lets you edit the notification queue. I think I used Memaid, saw the problematic alarms (mine where from the clock alarm) and deleted the entries there.
hope this helps.
Thanx man! Worked like a charm
Hi just wondering if anyone has experienced issues with their Wizard not recognizing their miniSD at times. I have a Sandisk 2gb miniSD and it was flawless the first 2 weeks, but now I'm finding that sometimes when I take it out to put in my card reader (to transfer DVDs quicker, async 4.1 way too slow) and put it back in again or when doing a soft reset it is not recognized. This is somewhat of a pain as I don't realize it until I get a phone call and my custom ring tones don't work (I have my tones in the miniSD) and it reverts back to the default windows ring tone. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else is seeing the same thing and if this is an issue in that my card may be slowly crapping out or if this just a normal thing. I'd say this happens to about a 3rd of the time now...
ok so i finally have a juststable i like and my software and settings are optimum for my needs, every so often i get what seems to me a os crash, it starts with my text tab freezing completely so i soft reset several times to get anything working at all, my htc weather doesnt update and my contacts disappear,my phone doesnt make or receive calls but rings, i cant even connect to activesync.
Eventually after a couple hours of soft resets it finally works i have to then sync my phone in order to get my contacts back now if im away from home when this happens its a nightmare i dont know why it happens or how to prevent it, im pretty sure i have plenty of memory storage is 2.30 MB and program is 19.50 free.
if nothing else is there a way to save my contacts in a folder on my storage card and then move the folder to where it needs to be on the actual phone if this occurs when im away from home?
ok any help would be much appreciated thanks
this person in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381423 sounds exactly like the issues im having but im not using stock rom, not using any overclock sw,
Hi All,
I have two problems with my HTC Touch2. First, when someone calls me my phone rings for 2-3 second and suddenly it stops ringing. This problems occurs randomly. Second my phone stops working with SD card. For example, my favorite picture albume is in SD card, after a while my favorite albume changes to default and i have to redefine favorite albume. Only soft reset or ejecting SD card and inserting it again solves the problem. Also i made some hard resets and it didn't solve the problems above.
Does anyone have these problems? Any help will be apreciated.
ROM version 1.30.480.3 (68045)
ROM date 12/22/09
Radio version 3.49.25.05
61.42t.25.31w

dunno about ring tone, but expect this SD card problem. i still haven't got one cuz of this (infuriating problem) and my experience with 1gig card i installed in it (built rage, nothing else). a Toshiba 256mB worked flawlessly though.
i would just assume a knackered SD card to be honest.
if the ringtone is a personal one stored on the same card then again a knackered SD...
try another SD for a while see what happens. im using an 8gb SDHC which has given me no trouble at all

I faced the same problem after I switched from Turkcell to Vodafone. It is quite strange. I changed band settings from auto to gsm and now I donot have any problem. when I need 3g I change the settings vice versa. one more thing when I am abroad I donot have such a problem with the phone even when the band setting is in auto.

Thanks mcemeren. I will also try your opinion. I am using Avea sim, so it can be a problem. I find another way and i'm testing it. The problem is not ocurred for 5 days. I have just changed the ring tone from standart ring tone to mp3 ring tone.

Hello,
Never posted a problem before but I guess it was time I did....
I'm so far a proud owner of an HTC Touch HD. I even customized a bit installing SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5 over the original theme. It has worked fine until now. For some reason (unknown to me) the phone "looses" it's ringtones. Meaning that when trying to alter the ringtone for incoming calls and messages whatever ringtone is already part of the phone gets corrupted thus not working. So, any incoming call or message was missed by not "hearing them". I tried to find the original htc touch hd sounds to insert them again and replace the "corrupted" files but with no luck. I found a few here and there and put them inside the ringtones folder but still no joy. Having tried almost anything I knew, SPB Backup was my last resort. I restored to a previous state (a couple of weeks ago time) and it seemed to be working again...at least for a few days, when it "corrupted" the sounds ...again. It's becoming quite irritating to have to "restore" the phone to a previous backup every 2-3 days. What could be wrong ? Does anyone have an idea ? If it's not much to ask at least someone point me to a direction to resolve this. I can't have a phone that in the middle of the day just "happens to loose" it's voice all of a sudden, thus making me miss calls. Please, someone help me on this. I'm out of ideas. BTW can't hard reset or return the phone to factory settings due to a broken button (the one decreasing volume on the left of the device).... so I'm stuck to the phone "as it it now".
Also wanted to ask if anyone has the full set of original ringtones (in a package) to share. What's the correct location (folder I mean )to set them so that it recognizes them as ringtones ? I think "/Windows/Rings" folder is the one but I'm just asking to be sure.
Thanks.
