Today the main video app for smartphone is Youtube, which exist on Windows Mobile, Android, Symbian...
Recently Dailymotion made an app but only for iPhone OS, what a shame.
I know we can afford the mobile version of the site with almost every recent phones, but it's really not handy, and there is a huge difference between the contents of the full site and the mobile site.
About Megavideo, there is not even mobile site (is there ?).
The part solution is using the browser Skyfire, but, one more time it's not handy (have to zoom on the video frame and it's lagging).
So my question is...
Is it possible to make rights Dailymotion and Megavideo apps, I mean looking like Youtube app.
Thank you for your answers.
Any news on that?^^ I'm very interested, too!
wondering if HTC HD2 can somehow stream movies?
Technically yes by using the uZard browser...but it's at about 2FPS, so it's not really useable. Wait for WP7 to be released for the HD2, then MAYBE the Netflix application will work on the HD2. Either that or purchase a WP7 device.

Does the uZard browser handle SilverLight? I thought that's what NetFlix used ...not flash - but I could be wrong...
Streaming and watching Netflix movies on my T-Mobile HD2 using WP7 ROM. Installed dual boot WP7/Android since WP7 is so limited and useless other than watching Netflix and for MS Office.
You can get the free Netflix app for WP7 (works on a WP7 HD2) in the itune store... I mean Marketplace.
I've bitten the bullet and ordered an Omnia 7 from Expansys unlocked and unbranded. One question has anyone installed the HTC YouTube app on their O7?I've just downloaded the XAP, ChevronWP7 and a certificate in preparation. The standard MS plugin isn't brilliant.
XDAer Tom Hounsell posted the XAP a few weeks ago.

HTC youtube app isn't all that great to be honest. Download the youtube app by Lazywormapps. It's free, no ads, and you can login to your subscription that is listed by newest video. The HTC youtube app subscription is list by popularity so it's useless to me.
I have the HTC Youtube app on my Omnia 7... and aside from a slightly better searching feature, it's not so great.
well, I like SuperTube very much

The custom rom supports H.264, MPEG4(DivX, XviD), MPEG2, WMV9, etc. with any containers, and going to be released soon. It is easy to think the playback support is just like Galaxy S.
The rom is made by Real_G, and I'm going to ask the developer to post the rom on here.
OF COURSE, THIS IS H/W DECODING.
**UPDATE #1 **
New introduction videos available, and the custom rom will be released soon
Oh, looking forward to this, finally! One of the few features I was missing...

hmmm... no, the rock player is software based
according to the ROM it supposed to be hardware based, like on the SGS

and he is also a fellow one piece watcher
Just in time. I've been thinking of swapping mine for a Galaxy because MP4 playback sucks.

Yeah but I prefer hardware decoding as do some of the other people in this thread.

Where I find this program?
Moboplayer (or anything else) doesn't have audio for most 720p H.264 videos when using hardware encoding.
With software audio works, but video playback is choppy.
I have been anxiously awaiting this, coming from SGS where u could play just about anything without lag. I hope this is made available to those of us who don't use custom roms cause I like to stick to the regular Google releases.
Props to real_g and anyone else who is working on this; greatly appreciated.

I noticed in the video it's running CM7, or some variant of CM7? Hopefully it's just a minor update to the ROM.
so when can we download the ROMs?
Whats ETA on this? Looking forward to it.
Hi everyone.
Recently i have updated my galaxy tab 10.1 wifi to touchwiz ux. I haven't rooted my tab, so i got all stock roms.
The tab was so so good and smooth before touchwiz. I was playing any video format with the stock video player. After updating to touchwiz, i got "sorry, this video cannot be played" for mp4 videos. So, the touchwiz has removed the video support.
Can anyone give me the site or email to contact Samsung support and ask them:
Will u roll an update to resolve Touchwiz bugs?
Thanks,
Sultan,

Just shoot a tweet to Koush. I heard he got a sweet gig there.

Try the number in the link that JYE75 posted. I find it surprising that you're having problems playing videos after Touchwiz.... my 2nd Tab (3rd one is on the way) played those types od videos with no problems both before and after the update. Hope they get it resolved for you.
I love Samsung for quick and easy support... have you ever tried to get something from HTC?

By the way, your "bug" is "working as intended".

Not sure what HTC support is like for carrier phones, but the couple of times I had issues with my N1 they had overnight cross-shipped replacements to me without any complaint.

Koush got hired by Samsung too? I didn't know that, I know that they grabbed Cyanogen.

not sure why it is not working for you? I converted a bunch of videos to mp4 before touchwiz update. After the update I removed RockPlayer because the stock touchwiz video app played all my videos flawlessly, including the ones I converted for 5.1 surround sound...
OP is correct. It was widely reported that TW update won't play certain H.264 video encoded with certain profiles which plays fine in 3.1 non-TW ROM. Check the earlier TW threads and you will find all the complaints there. I suspect Samsung will roll up any of these fixes into next ROM updates instead of releasing a quick fix. Of course, next ROM updates will also come with new bugs.
EDIT: see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203895&highlight=touchwiz+h.264
Ironically my experience is exactly the opposite of the OP. I often received the message that a video couldn't be played on my Tab. I had downloaded 3 other players to be able to play all the video I had.
Once Touchwiz installed that went away and it will now play all of my videos in the supplied video player.
