Hey guys,
My Touch keeps giving me this error message. It pops up and won't go away for a long time. I know tmail.exe is the messaging app, but does anybody know what could be causing this? Anybody else had this issue?
same issue, any help is greatly appreciated. just flashed bd3.1 and added a tmobile 5.99 MMS CAB.

I see that error message from time to time, along with the more frequent "cannot execute clocknot.exe, calnot.exe and repllog.exe". It appears that these are old, old WM issues that nobody has a solution to... it is apparently part of the general flakeyness of WM -- stuff that is swept under the rug in WM-world...", accepted as a matter of course, along with WM's lags and resets...
For me, these errors happen the most when the device is waking up from standby, so I assume it is some kind of race condition in WM...
Wow I can't belive I'm also getting this **** on my touch Diamond

Same here. Tried 2 "solutions" I found that DID NOT WORK !
1) changing the time zone; start-settings-personal-phone-timezones=> uncheck
2) remove SPB Time
I repeat, neither works.
Do you have the "When available, use this store card to store attachments" checked under the storage tab? DON'T CHECK IT!
^^^
Ditto, don't store any emails on the memory chit. For some reason, the database that supports the filing of the emails get corrupted.

Yes. I did have it checked. Not anymore. Going to test it for a while now without it checked. Thanks Nuttsac & da.bell
Observation: While I thought the pop-ups were random, I discovered that they were in fact only happening while ActiveSync was running! And for some strange reason, when I start getting the errors, I'd check and find that AS was running even though I had not started it nor was I connected to my PC. Some program/task was starting it. Once I kill AS, the pop-ups stopped.
Anyone know what fixes Market apps not downloading very first time you start download?
What i mean is when i first install a rom and try to download an app from market it gets stuck on "downloading" but wont download apps, apps will download eventually but it may take few minutes or few hours to start, and after the first app downloads successfully market functions without problems.
I know there is a trick to make it download quick first time, but i dont know what it is.It used to be clearing market cache or syncing gmail but that doesn't work anymore. There is a few roms that i used that have this problem, gotta be a fix for it.

Yes wrong forum but you can answer the question (assuming you know if not apologize), but what i do is when i first boot up on a new rom, i open up the market, then it will auto send me to sign in after i sign in and everything syncs up i restart the phone. When the phone boots back up, i open the market let it sit for a little while then go to menu -> downloads, and usually my previously installed apps are listed i try to install one if successful i have no market problems(btw this was all done over wifi).

Yeah tried that already it don't work
You can try signing into google talk, this fixes the initial lag, might fix this too. Sometimes I cancel and restart the download a few times which eventually works

No. This is definitely the wrong sub-forum for this thread. This sub-forum is for ROM/Kernel development.
This belongs in General.
Does this forum have a dedicated Mod? If we do, we need a second.

Hopefully you don't have a lot of important stuff, but wipe your phone completely and reflash the rom you like and try my steps.

No,my market is working fine(i don't mind waiting for first download to go through",i was asking because someone was having this issue on kanged rom that i posted,so i wanted to see if there is quick way to start first download.I will try your method next time i flash and see if it works.
I've had this issue with every rom i've tried, except for the baked snack one, and i've tried just about every rom ;p
The workaround i've found is..turn on wifi.. open up the market place and let the icons show up in your notification bar.. then turn off wifi. Works flawless for me everytime.

Sounds promising ima give it a go next time, thanx.
I usually just sign into google talk and it fixes it.
this is what i did is using adw launcher long press on home screen then select custom shortcut then press pick your activity then press activities then scroll down till you find system updates its a green circle with a white check mark press that then scroll down to [OMA DM Settings(.dmhiddenmenu.OMADM_Settings) it will create a new icon on the home screen press it. when it opens press server address type then press ipv4 then press ok. no more errors wooo hoooo
I think that worked. I used LauncherPro, but the idea is the same. i don't get errors any more, just a note that says no updates available.
Did everything up until changing the server type (did this through similar menu settings in launcher pro btw), and then decided to make sure it was still giving me an error before doing the tweak. Went and checked and it hasn't thrown me an error once. So it might just be that Sprints has straightened things out on their end.

I'm thinking the same thing. It doesn't error for me either, without the tweak.
Holy CRAP! Mine said the same thing without any fix after 2 months of errors! I was going this morning to swap my phone out!!!! Yeah!
I got my replacement phone yesterday and now it doesn't give me an error when trying to update profile/prl. I'm pretty sure it was on Sprints side though
im not sure if it was on sprints end or not but it worked for me. my samsung epic is on boost mobile and all my other phones it worked. i hope its all good now

Hah! I didn't check that before I tried this tweak. I just switched it back to the away it was originally (URI) and it still works.
Perfect, thanks!

i didn't touch of any of the settings and my profile and PRL updates are working normally again. assuming that means it was something on sprint's end.
Yes it works regular way thanks.

I believe sprint pulled the 60677 update due to problems, and that is what was causing the update profile/prl problems

677

Yes, just got "PRL updated" and radio reset and still 60676. Had 60677 a week ago when Sprint pushed me to 76.
Yeah I've been on 677 for a while now. I went last saturday to the repair store hoping to get another phone. That didn't happen. They said it's the programmer's fault. They said there isn't any updates and instead of the dialog box saying no updates available, it says unknown or internal error. I asked him then to try it out on his epic sitting on the desk in front of him. He said he could try it but nothing will happen because he's rooted and running a custom rom......
Anyways, I didn't do the suggestion from the OP and tried updating before changing anything and profile didn't come back with any message and prl came back with no updates available.
im happy to be able to update profile because i flashed my phone to boost mobile but had problems with data authenticating after i played around for a month with this i found this solution so now my phone also completes a hands free activation. i flashed a different modem the error came right back but i did the trick again and the updates work. go figure i cant figure it out
hello again guys
i'm having this problem which is so frustrating...
i was on revolution hd (froyo) and i had a problem with the market app. whenever i clicked on new releases app list, i got an error about "com.android.vending" and the app would restart. i thought "oh well, i'll install a gingerbread rom" and so i did.
i wanted to try the LeeDrOiD rom so i followed all the steps needed to do so. went into market again and the same problem came up. did it again. cleaned dalvik cache, did a factory reset, wiped caches, and always after each step i flashed the rom again. the problem was there again. in spare parts app, whenever i clicked on battery history, i got an error (again) only this time for a different process (logical)
so, i thought i should try the revolution gingerbread rom (since i was so happy using the previous version)
after finishing the rom flash, i went into market and the problem is there again.
the process is named "com.android.vending" and it crashes whenever i try to swipe the new releases list.
the other app error i get is when clicking on battery history in spare parts. i get the "com.androidapps.spare_parts" process termination error.
(gosh!!!!!!) i even installed a second app called BatteryHistory and whenever i click on in i get an error again. this time it's com.blogspot.aidizen.batteryHistory"
i really don't know what to do. is there a problem with the device itself ??(hardware-wise)
any help would be really appreciated
thank you guys. i feel really bad cause these might seem minor problems to you experts. i know am a newbie and i hate it spending your time with all these
Cheers !!!
First, the battery history crash in spare parts is normal because the battery history function appears to be nonexistent in Gingerbread.
For the market crash I would propose the following solution:
1.) Full Wipe in Recovery and install a fresh ROM.
2.) Set up a clean Google account.
4.) Use this Google account for the market, for the time being don't restore any backups or anything.
5.) If it worked, try eliminating these steps one by one to find the source of the problem
Well, I did it all again from the start. I used full wipe 1.3, did a factory reset, wiped data, installed the Rom again (did a new download of it) and the problem is still here.
Market crashes whenever I touch an app in the new released app list.
It seems really strange. I'm thinking there might be a hardware problem since I changed 3 different roms.
Does anyone have anymore suggestions? I would REALLY appreciate it.
Thanks a lot guys
Flash an RUU. If the problem persists it may be a hardware issue, although in my opinion it seems unlikely, if it doesn't it's a software issue.
Personally I would rather you did the wiping by hand as then at least you'd have an indication if it fails for any reason.
this is much weirder now....
i seem to have solved the problem. i did a "market cache clean" from within settings -> applications -> all -> market -> "wipe everything".
it works but the funny part is that the interface of the market app has changed. on the top of the app, instead of 2 "listing" choices (top free + new apps) i got a 3rd choice of "top paid"
oh well, the good thing is that am back to normal.
thank you guys for your time
Cheers !!!

That's normal, at least in UK, have google perchance updgraded market in Greece? I Know they announced enhancements and increased pay markets at the O/I.
they changed the market in Greece so that you can purchase apps. obviously, the app was upgraded to support this but something went wrong with the previous version cahce (idk, i guess that's what happened)
i can't tell you if the pay markets are increased cause we didn't have anything showing. when i came to london, in march, i could buy apps since the market interface changed to support the purcase.
oh well, the good thing is that the problem is fixed.
Cheers !!!
I've had my Samsung Galaxy S II for Just under two months and everything was fine. I tried to acess the android market today evening but I cant.
When I touch the market app, a blank white screen with the word loading comes for about a 15th of a second and then I go back to the home screen.
I've tried clearing the data under "manage applications" and powering off the handset but it has no effect. I have stock rom and have not rooted my S2.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Im having the same issue
