Youtube Ripper? - Droid X General

I was looking for an app that would let me download and save youtube videos but the only one I could find was one called youtube ripper, and that was taken off the market about the weeks ago. Does anyone have the apk, or an alternative?

YouTube Ripper

Awesome, thanks!

I actually can't get this working. I paste the link from the actual youtube and it flashes the download bar for a second and disappears. When I paste the link from the mobile site it just stays on the gathering information popup.

you can also get "Jet VD" from the market. it works nice for me and it also gives you a choice if you want to download the video as low quality/high quality

Oh man so much better, thanks. Iit's not letting me choose what folder to download to though...
Sent from my Droid X using psychic powers

yeah all of a sudden youtube ripper stopped working for me. i liked it cuz i can give a youtube link and it'll convert it. i use jet vd now too. but you have to search on that before you can convert. good options though on what type of format you want to save. i wish it could convert links though too.

i just got JetVD and found the video. I clicked on 720p HD but it doesnt download it, only plays it...

this is the best one. got yanked bit I can get it at this websight. http://devian7.iisweb.co.kr/download.jsp

YouTube Downlod
Another good free one is Tubemate which is at the link http://m.tubemate.net/download.jsp

IMO tubemate is the best YouTube ripper .. i use it daily check it out, http://androidappsdir.com/tubemate-youtube-downloader-android-app/

IMO tubemate is the best but it was yanked from market, a little research will be worth it trust me,, http://androidappsdir.com/tubemate-youtube-downloader-android-app/

tubemate works pretty good, will save as mp4, does not look good when connected to tv through hdmi though...
Stock 2.3.3 - for now...

"TubeMate" also does the gob

i concur on the tubemate app they update it whenever youtube blocks em.
sometimes it takes them a lil bit to get an update version out but so far they been on top of it pretty good

Go to the MARKET & download "TUBEMATE". It is the best that I have used, & I have tried 5 or 6 of them. The best is called "FREEdi YOUTUBE DOWNLOADER" which is currently off the market (if you see it download it). However, I feel the best the MARKET has to offer currently is "TUBEMATE". Good Luck with it.

lG camera app

Has anyone tried the lg camera app. I think it gives you the option to record the movies in mpeg format and increase the audio quality. Have you people tried it and does it works better than the default application

Impressive application!
I have pudding camera app(2x basic camerea app). Start-up slower in HD, but supports various scene modes.
Puding app was created by Korea's KTH, iPhone AppStore has been registered. Android Market has not yet registered. And movie recording not tested. Lets record?

I wanted to know which is the best settings for lg camera app for DHD which will give best audio and video.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Been playing around with LG Camera and it's ok, it can record higher quality audio but I haven't actually made any comparisons yet so I can't say it's better.
If you want to record with better audio select AAC as the encoder, 44100 sample rate and 204800 bitrate or even higher but since I don't have time right now to truly test the app I can't say what will/wont work.
1 thing that this app misses is touch to focus while recording.
You are right the app misses touch to focus. But I am also disappointed with tin HD video and audio quality. The video are always dark and hungry for light. I was an iPhone 4 user and HD video and audio are way way better on iPhone 4 . Disappointed wit the HD in camera

Anyone got a link to the apk so I don't have to download a LG rom and extract it?
Thanks
You will find it in the android market or inbox me your mail id I will upload it for you

How can I install an system app? I extracted camera.apk from stock rom but I can't install it because it needs to replace system app.
If your phone was rooted you would simply copy over the other camera.apk using a file explorer like Root Explorer.

Where is UPDATE?
When I opened the "new" market this a.m. I saw there is an update for Twicca. But when I clicked on Twicca in "My Apps" the only options available were "Open" or "Uninstall."
Is this a problem with the new Market? I was able to sync the update via Appbran and Fast Web Installer but I want to make sure I have a working market.
Awesome, thanks.
I like the new market, a little too flashy though.

I had the same issue with the new market. It is pretty busy looking anyway. I just went back to the old one.
the new one definatly takes some getting used to but i think its pretty neat overall
still like the market redo chingy did to one of his roms better
Some apps needing updates are not showing up in updates. I also user app brain so that's how I know.
I cleared market data via titanium but it didn't do anything

Yes, this works independent of the rom. Any reason you aren't on CM 7 or later?

How are magazines on the Nexus 7 screen?

Hey guys, quick question - could someone tell me how the Nexus 7 is for reading magazines? Screenshots would be helpful but no worries if you can't. I'd like to be able to read mags without having to constantly double tap to zoom in and then pan around like I do on my PlayBook. I was hoping the extra pixels the N7 has over the Playbooks 1024x600 would allow me to do this. So how is it?
Cheers!
Hope this helps, popular science was free and preloaded. Used it as a example for your question.
Its a OK experience, but I'm coming from a larger tablet (iPad 2) and the smallish screen is still a feature I'm getting used too.
I included images attached but quality didn't look the same so here's outside hosted images

according to several reviews, there should also be a text only/reading mode which is much easier to read (like an ebook). see googles I/O address for N7.
Yes, that functionality does indeed work. I've attached some screenshots from Pop Sci.

Thanks guys that's awesome. Unfortunately I won't have access to Play Magazines because I'm in the UK but I use Zinio, and I just checked on the Play Store and it says that has a text only mode as well.
It's very very tempting, now if I can just find somewhere that stocks it...

[Q] Flash Player

Stock Rom, 4.1.2
Sideloaded various versions of Adobe Flash Player, crashes with Firefox Official + Beta. Boat browser doesn't work, Puffin Browser doesn't work, Naked browser doesn't work (The latter 2 just give me an icon where the flash movie should be)
I keep getting recommended all the above things, but nothing works. Is there anything solid which actually works? Because no flash is a deal breaker for me, and I'm thinking of returning my Nexus 7 now
Cyanogen ROM the flash works with the stock browser. To be fair on some sites it can be buggy or broken, that's probably why they stopped supporting it, but most of the time it works just fine.

I use stock aosp browser for flash with the latest version of flash player (Flash Player 11.1.for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.34)) found here, http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#flash_player_archives. Works just fine for me.
I've been using flash with Naked Browser with no problems whatsoever. Usually you have to tap the icon that takes the place of the video to start it up. It does work though.

I use flash 11.1 with Firefox browser to watch episodes on south park studios on stock 4.2.1 with no issues. That's the only site I needed flash for though, so could be dependant on the site I guess.

I think that this is because of a layer or other JavaScript happening.
In Naked Browser, if you are unable to activate the Flash plugin, long press the "refresh" button on the bottom menu and it will allow you to force any Flash objects to run.

Streaming H.264 Videos Help!!

Hello all,
I am a new owner of a Nexus 7 (16G-All stock) and so far so good...except for the blueprint lsat prep website:
Note: I'm sorry, I'm new and cannot post links yet. If you try to go on the blueprint lsat prep website, the homepage has a link to sample videos of the course.
The company claims that it is possible to watch on Android. I have tried to watch using Chrome without any success. Tried it on Iphone, and the video played.
Since I am quite happy with the Nexus 7, I'd hate to have to return it and exchange it for an Ipad.
Please, please help!
Have you tried a third party media player such as mxplayer, or dice player? There are a few on the play store.
