Got the Droid X to activate it on Alltel like I did very successfully with my Eris.
Installed HW virtual serial port software, created the virtual serial port, phone was detected and showing up correctly in QPST, went directly to CDMA Workshop and ripped the NV file from the phone, edited all the NV information to alltel's 3G provisioning with a HEX translator, uploaded the NV file to the phone and uploaded the Alltel PRL... all seemed well. Restarted the phone, it now shows no service. When I go to Settings, it tells me the baseband version is "unknown" and it doesnt know the ESN or anything, that isn't good. I tried reconnecting to CDMA workshop, if I try to restore original NV file, it doesn't know the SPC anymore so it doesn't allow it, SPC 000000 isn't recognized now. How can I recover the radio ? I tried restoring it (hard reset) through the settings, security menu AND the Power+home buttons way. After restoring, still no service and SPC is still incorrect, how do I get the radio back to default values ? CAn I reflash the phone? Anyone know where the factory rom is so I can do this ? Ah man, help me please :O
Other than that, I guess I'll have to have motorola take a look at it since I don't have it signed up to a verizon account, my bet is that verizon won't help me. thanks
Did a system "full reboot" help any??
No it hard resets normally and reboots to the welcome wizard, functions perfectly, but still "No Service" and "unknown" baseband in the settings...
I'm thinking I'll have to have the stock Rom file to flash my phone, hopefully this will flash the factory baseband too or maybe tomorrows update will fix my broken baseband, looks like from the information, it updates the baseband, wonder if it will update a totally dysfunctional baseband?
Yikes,.. this blows.
I don't understand why you didn't back up the rom if you were attempting something like this.
There is a Droid X update coming pretty soon, so I'm sure by that time the new rom will be available.
Well, I backed up the NV items, I figured that would be sufficient, guess not, Trial and error I suppose, but you're right.
What software do I use to back up the rom of the Droid X ? I know there is a key sequence on the Droid, what about the droid X ? The recovery screen (Power + Home) brings me to a menu allowing system recovery/wipe install update.zip from memory card, and thats it.
I have a buddy right here in town down the block that got the droid x with me, can I back the rom up off of his and flash that rom to my phone?
Help is SO appreciated...
EDIT
The system dumps that are floating around the web, is that a ROM backup ? http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/114-new-droid-x-retail-dump-straight-out-pot.html
Can I put that file in the SD card as update.zip and flash it?

why not use QXDM to modify the ESN?
Worth a shot...
You can try using the motorola troubleshooter. Its what they use to update your phone anyways and since the new update came out you might be able to install over what you did...I cant post a link because Im new but follow the instructions below and it will walk you through the update process via computer. I figure with a phone thats not working its worth a shot.
Go to Motorola's website and click the droid advert right on the left side of the screen.
Under the "Support" tab in the upper right hand corner is another tab called "Owner Support" click on that.
On the left hand side there are more tabs so this time click on "Update My Software"
It will give you a list of options, choose "Via Computer"
From here it will check your computer for their software and prompt you to download it. Its the troubleshooting software and it will ask you a few questions, its also what they use to update your software via computer so it may be capable of flashing your phone for you. Best of luck and let us know what the end result is.
I haven't tried either of these... but I'm about to start flashing a droid X to cricket and bookmarked these posts in case I mess something up. Proceed with caution as I have no first hand experience with these.
I'm still trying to get a handle on if the service programming parameters (the spc, MDN, MIN, SID, etc.) are updated as part of baseband updates, it sounds like they are since they are saying the device needs to be re-activated after applying either of these updates.
If a baseband update refreshes the service programming parameters here are the two ways I've found of updating the baseband:
Here's a link to a post for updating the baseband portion of your device (without updating the ROM):
http://alldroid.org/Default.aspx?tabid=62&g=posts&t=246
I don't know if this will work on a device that doesn't have a valid baseband prior to the update. Regardless, if your phone is bricked this may be a valid option to try.
There is also a 2.1 SPL file floating around which is the entire system image, the baseband and the rom. You will need to use rsdlite to apply this image to your phone. DO NOT APPLY THIS IF YOU ARE RUNNING FROYO.
Hi, Just installed this ROM using the recommended kernel (percy_g2's CM#2). I've search for a bug related to data connections but seems It's only me. SIM card recognizes my provider and I can make/receive calls and sms, but using the data plan it's impossible, showing it's disconnected. Checked and unchecked the roaming option and still doesn't work. What are my options?
Reset apn settings to default or manually enter them - your provider can send you the settings
Phone settings
click more or wireless and network settings
Mobile networks
access point names
press menu button on phone
reset to default
Check the apn settings are present & correct for your provider or enter them manually

Did it and didn't work. As far as I recall, in all other roms I have installed I never changed settings ain APNs, they were empty all the time. The phone automatically gets the connection to the carrier. It was all about enable or disable data.
I called my provider but they say the network itself should recognize you inmediatly.
I just flashed stock and it's working there but not in MIUI.

Iv always had my providers access point in my apn settings but may be different for others
The only other thing you can do is try a different stock rom firmware baseband
you can do this by flashing a different stock rom firmware via odin to what you are currently using
See dokys thread at top of dev section for a list of pre done flashable odin firmware or make your own with any latest firmware from sammobile.com using the splitter tool

I can't seem to find the APN settings on my Pure after going through the motions of bootloader unlocking and TWRP flashing (via command line), and SuperSU flashing(via TWRP)? Stuck with no service, and can't even find the settings to either edit the APNs or select a service provider...
Have you tried a factory reset? That's not the most convenient option, I know, but it usually works.
What service provider do you have? I'm assuming you've already looked in Settings --> More --> Cellular Networks --> Access Point Names? Is that option completely gone?
This happened to me last night. The only way I found to fix it was to flash another rom. I initially restored to a stock backup and still had the issue. I flashed a CM12.1 rom and the settings returned.
Phone Information
Phone Number: Last owner shows up, want this cleared
Android Version: 7.0
Build Number: NRD90M
Software Version: LS997ZV6
Security software: MDF V2.0 release 4
OEM Unlock (On)
USB Debugging (On)
PROBLEM: A sprint V20 was brought to me to have the carrier swapped from [Sprint] to [Cricket]. So far sounds easy right? Read below...
Please Review the following of my step by step :
ESN IS LISTED AS CLEAR ON SWAPPA, please note that means this device "should" not have issues (first thing I checked)
Under APN settings there is no way to +add APN as there is with every other phone I have touched. Is this because it was a lease?
I considered perhaps rooting the phone, throwing on a custom ROM, and therefore hopefully having that added. Looks like bootloader is locked.
Of course, I am 1 security patch too late, DIRTYSANTA will NOT work on my firmware.
Searched everywhere, seems as though you CAN NOT roll this back.
Next I looked at using Chimera Tool to roll back the firmware. I cannot seem to find a ZV5 firmware file.
Next I looked at using chimera for IMEI repair. I figured if I change the IMEI just long enough to modify the APN settings then revert it back, I would be golden. Chimera gave me an error of not having access to the ports. I tried to dial in the following codes to enable port check but none have access to the "hidden menu". 277634#*#, 3845#*997#, *#546368#*997#. I tried to factory reset the phone, no luck.
I was able to use ##DIAG# (##3424#) and enable DIAGNOSTIC mode, yet this seemed to do nothing about ports.
I was able to enter ##DEBUG (##33284#) but there is no ability to ediit in here. Although at one point in time I was at a screen asking for an SVC code, no idea how to get back there though.
Tried to do a "fix" on Chimera, which is the same as refurbish on LG Up (I need the phone in factory condition), but apparently this device does not support refurbish mode. So flashing software is not wiping anything.
I cant seem to boot it into recovery, for god knows why.
QUESTIONS I HAVE
How do I completely wipe the phone of all user data?
How do I open these ports since the codes provided bring up no menu?
Since sprint is the only one recognizing the bad ESN, is this device able to even swap carriers?
What reason would APN not have an ability to edit or modify?
What additional tactics can I use to get my goal accomplished?
Hopefully we can brainstorm together
Please refer to this thread, it should work and do what you need to withthat apk. I belive its under IOT menu then under lte and put it in lab mode and turn on all the bands plus adding APN .. Im not to sure but ask the OP im sure he is way more helpful... asfar as adding the apn without this you need root to be able to do this and for nonroot i believe you must use ADb commands to tgecdevice and add them from there. there is threads oithere....

if the esn is now listed as unpaid, or lost /stolen cricket will not be able to add the esn to their system either. its a nation wide list that blacklist's the device.
Unfortunately changing the apns etc wont fix this.
ZV6 currently does not have a way to be rolled back, so there is 0 root/custom options.
APNS have been blocked by sprint for some time now and using some root methods they can be unlocked, in your case you wont be able to access them due to being unable to root.
Tools like CDMA WORKSHOP, QPST, QXDMA, etc may be able to write the apns and such you would need, if you could get the msl for the device, but if it is no longer active, and the device has a "bad esn" then you wont be getting that from the carrier. I dont believe youll be able to access the nv items etc without it and probably not going to be easy to locate the msl.
##diag# is how youll talk to the device on cdma workshop etc, youll need to go to your installed devices and change its com port to a port thats free and remember the port as the tools need you to select that port, but again they wont work for you without the msl anyways.
so in a nutshell, it looks like your best option is to sell the phone as parts only, or if recently purchased on swappa and it was listed good esn and its not then file a report at-least to make swappa aware.

Hello, yesterday I was trying latest Lineageos16 by @codeworkx and was trying the network options. I selected "GMS/WCDMA/LTE" and since then I cant get any network like if my RIL was broken or something. I tried:
Rebooting the phone
Put airplane mode
Installing 20s firmware again (previously it was already installed)
Coming back to LOS15
Installing a stock rom via fastboot
And the problem is still there, my sim is detected in all roms but I cant get any signal. I need help since I don´t know what to do now.

I got your PM. But, I don't know which phone you have. As a last resort you can flash my recovery or flash the EFS from my old X727 ( if you have an X727 or X720)
There are several things things that could cause this issue, so I have provided several things to try
If you have tried several Roms, I am betting that you probably wiped but did not format your storage?
FYI Encryption can cause these kinds of issues. I have seen these issues caused by Google as well, and once the account has been restored the sim card will start working again.
Follow the very basic steps below and if that doesn't work, you can try last resort steps that are more drastic and could cause the issue to become unrecoverable. So avoid doing things such as wiping your modems etc. or flashing alternate efs files until you have exhausted all of the possible ways to repair.
Dial *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer
Navigate to Device/Phone Information
Click on “Run Ping Test “
After the Ping test is performed
Click on “Turn Off Radio“
Next, Click on “Turn on SMS over IMS“

First try changing to global and then check and make sure that the correct APN is selected under Network&Internet> Mobile Network> Advanced > Preferred Network Type > Choose Global
Next go to Network&Internet> Mobile Network> Advanced >Access Point Names > Choose your correct Network. > If your APN is not listed, enter it manually, click save, then choose new entry.
Go to Network&Internet> Mobile Network> System Select > Should be Automatic
Go to Network&Internet> Mobile Network> CDMA subscription > Should be RUIM/SIM
Check for Signal : If no signal install program from play store called Network Discovery, read instructions and follow suggestions. Usually this program alone will resolve these types of issues ( the free version works fine)
If it does not work Remove the Sim > Wipe sim card off with lint free cloth , ensure that there is no damage to the sim card, Now Reboot > Should work.

Start Clean, including formatting storage ( Not WIPE!) Format type yes, Reboot to Recovery then do a full clean wipe.
Reinstall Rom, Gapps, Root > Take out the sim card and setup the phone, Reboot to Recovery, Reinsert Sim card, and boot to system, Open Playstore check for updates.

Trying flashing my EFS files from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75021582 See Section titled EFS.
If that doe's not work try restoring the recovery, its efs is from a phone that I returned to Amazon. ( so its an alternate EFS)
Last resort
I am not going to tell you this one yet because it can cause a permanent problem. Try everything that I listed above it all else fails you can try the most drastic steps. Which could finally solve your issues but also make the issue worse in a worst case scenario.

Seriously ?
Okay, here is my two second answer : Use QPST
Edit:
Basically at your risk delete your modems via adb
First make sure that you have your own efs backup by using TWRP > Backup. Next wipe your modems
Boot into fastboot
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot erase modemst1
3. fastboot erase modemst2
4. fastboot erase cache
5. fastboot reboot ( Check for signal in system > if no go to link below.
You didn't spend anytime telling me about what phone you have, what you have actually tried etc.. I don't have time or the motivation to write easy to understand step by steps.
Thankfully someone has provided the steps already:
1. Use Chrome Browser on your desktop with the Google Translate extension installed and activated.
2. Follow the instruction listed on 4PDA here: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=876414&view=findpost&p=72854643
Edit 2
You could also just wait for next Lineage update. Although, I am not experiencing any issues apparently other people are dealing with issues also. The next update may solve it. If possible wait before doing the drastic steps mentioned above.

@tsongming Currently I am experiencing almost the same problem. I just bought Le Pro3 US version (x727) a couple weeks ago. It came with US 18s firmware if I am not mistaken. Then I upgraded to Chinese firmware 26s, unlocked the boot loader and installed TWRP. So now I have the x720 baseband. After that I played around with several ROM, AICP 14.0 and LOS 16.0 without any problem.
Two days ago I installed LOS 16.0 4 March nightly build. Everything mostly work and I got LTE connection. Suddenly yesterday morning, when I was at home I noticed the phone just has H+. Restarting the phone didn't help. So I just went to office using train. In the train, I realized it changed back to LTE. I played with the phone and suddenly it changed back to H+. So I changed the setting to LTE only but it didn't help. Restarting the phone also didn't help. So currently my phone stuck with H+.
I have tried several things:
1. Flash the x720 firmware
2. Flash AICP 14.0 official
3. Reformat internal storage and full wipe other partitions as you mentioned above and flash LOS 16.0 5 march nightly
All failed to solve the problem.
Currently I am thinking to flash the original 26S Chinese version back. In your opinion, will it help?
