Hello, yesterday I was trying latest Lineageos16 by @codeworkx and was trying the network options. I selected "GMS/WCDMA/LTE" and since then I cant get any network like if my RIL was broken or something. I tried:
Rebooting the phone
Put airplane mode
Installing 20s firmware again (previously it was already installed)
Coming back to LOS15
Installing a stock rom via fastboot
And the problem is still there, my sim is detected in all roms but I cant get any signal. I need help since I don´t know what to do now.

I got your PM. But, I don't know which phone you have. As a last resort you can flash my recovery or flash the EFS from my old X727 ( if you have an X727 or X720)
There are several things things that could cause this issue, so I have provided several things to try
If you have tried several Roms, I am betting that you probably wiped but did not format your storage?
FYI Encryption can cause these kinds of issues. I have seen these issues caused by Google as well, and once the account has been restored the sim card will start working again.
Follow the very basic steps below and if that doesn't work, you can try last resort steps that are more drastic and could cause the issue to become unrecoverable. So avoid doing things such as wiping your modems etc. or flashing alternate efs files until you have exhausted all of the possible ways to repair.
Dial *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer
Navigate to Device/Phone Information
Click on “Run Ping Test “
After the Ping test is performed
Click on “Turn Off Radio“
Next, Click on “Turn on SMS over IMS“
No Changes Next >
First try changing to global and then check and make sure that the correct APN is selected under Network&Internet> Mobile Network> Advanced > Preferred Network Type > Choose Global
Next go to Network&Internet> Mobile Network> Advanced >Access Point Names > Choose your correct Network. > If your APN is not listed, enter it manually, click save, then choose new entry.
Go to Network&Internet> Mobile Network> System Select > Should be Automatic
Go to Network&Internet> Mobile Network> CDMA subscription > Should be RUIM/SIM
Check for Signal : If no signal install program from play store called Network Discovery, read instructions and follow suggestions. Usually this program alone will resolve these types of issues ( the free version works fine)
If it does not work Remove the Sim > Wipe sim card off with lint free cloth , ensure that there is no damage to the sim card, Now Reboot > Should work.
No Changes Next >
Start Clean, including formatting storage ( Not WIPE!) Format type yes, Reboot to Recovery then do a full clean wipe.
Reinstall Rom, Gapps, Root > Take out the sim card and setup the phone, Reboot to Recovery, Reinsert Sim card, and boot to system, Open Playstore check for updates.

Trying flashing my EFS files from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75021582 See Section titled EFS.
If that doe's not work try restoring the recovery, its efs is from a phone that I returned to Amazon. ( so its an alternate EFS)
Last resort
I am not going to tell you this one yet because it can cause a permanent problem. Try everything that I listed above it all else fails you can try the most drastic steps. Which could finally solve your issues but also make the issue worse in a worst case scenario.

Seriously ?
Okay, here is my two second answer : Use QPST
Edit:
Basically at your risk delete your modems via adb
First make sure that you have your own efs backup by using TWRP > Backup. Next wipe your modems
Boot into fastboot
1. adb reboot bootloader
2. fastboot erase modemst1
3. fastboot erase modemst2
4. fastboot erase cache
5. fastboot reboot ( Check for signal in system > if no go to link below.
You didn't spend anytime telling me about what phone you have, what you have actually tried etc.. I don't have time or the motivation to write easy to understand step by steps.
Thankfully someone has provided the steps already:
1. Use Chrome Browser on your desktop with the Google Translate extension installed and activated.
2. Follow the instruction listed on 4PDA here: http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=876414&view=findpost&p=72854643
Edit 2
You could also just wait for next Lineage update. Although, I am not experiencing any issues apparently other people are dealing with issues also. The next update may solve it. If possible wait before doing the drastic steps mentioned above.
Sent from my LEX727 using XDA Labs
@tsongming Currently I am experiencing almost the same problem. I just bought Le Pro3 US version (x727) a couple weeks ago. It came with US 18s firmware if I am not mistaken. Then I upgraded to Chinese firmware 26s, unlocked the boot loader and installed TWRP. So now I have the x720 baseband. After that I played around with several ROM, AICP 14.0 and LOS 16.0 without any problem.
Two days ago I installed LOS 16.0 4 March nightly build. Everything mostly work and I got LTE connection. Suddenly yesterday morning, when I was at home I noticed the phone just has H+. Restarting the phone didn't help. So I just went to office using train. In the train, I realized it changed back to LTE. I played with the phone and suddenly it changed back to H+. So I changed the setting to LTE only but it didn't help. Restarting the phone also didn't help. So currently my phone stuck with H+.
I have tried several things:
1. Flash the x720 firmware
2. Flash AICP 14.0 official
3. Reformat internal storage and full wipe other partitions as you mentioned above and flash LOS 16.0 5 march nightly
All failed to solve the problem.
Currently I am thinking to flash the original 26S Chinese version back. In your opinion, will it help?

Hello, I've had my s5 for a while on a Vodafone contract with no problems. The phone was rooted and had a custom recovery. I recently got it unlocked from a local shop due to moving contracts and now since then the phone will not connect to a single network. I have tried 3 different sims from different networks and all the same result. I flashed to stock again and no help. My device status reads:
Network: unknown
Mobile Network type: unknown
Service state: out of service
Mobile network state: disconnected
Phone number and IMEI are correct.
Dialling *#06* shows my correct IMEI. I can't get into any service menus due to no root now, and my EFS folder appears empty
Any help will be useful, thank you
Was root broken by the unlock? A SIM unlock shouldn't break root. First try wiping your system cache from recovery mode. If the problem persists, then your best bet would be to restore your backup which will certainly resolve your issue and let you proceed from a stable position. If you don't have a backup, what the hell? Why wouldn't you be making backups?
As (a much less desirable) alternative, make a backup at this point or at least save any important files or photos. Then temporarily install a 100% stock ROM followed by a factory data reset. This is to rule out software issues other than EFS. If your phone now works, then it was a matter of a broken root or conflicting settings.
If you still have problems, then you need to provide a lot more information if you want good advice. We can't see your handset so if you don't give us a lot of details all anyone can do is flail around in the dark and make guesses. Try your SIM card in another unlocked phone to confirm that it still works. Confirm that you wiped your system cache and tried a factory data reset. And tell us step by step what you've tried so far.

Thanks for the reply, I will describe as best I can what is happening:
Firstly as the phone rebooted from the unlock I could not register to any networks. Root was still there and TWRP also . I restarted the device, and nothing happened. So next I tried a different aim and still I have no network. Both aims work in another phone. I did what you mentioned next and restored a backup and still no fix.
I tried factory resetting and wiping the cache and again, no fix. Then I flashed the stock firmware through ODIN which had no effect either.
If I use the sim in another handset then return to my s5 with it on first boot up it registers to EE and pulls a signal with no Internet, then quickly unregisters to emergency calls only.
Thank you for your help, I will give any info about the device that you need.

I have made a prior thread regarding this issue in troubleshooting/help but no-one is biting and I REALLY need this solved. PLEASE.
I'm not a 100% sure how this problem occurred, I believe it was after flashing an S5 custom rom called: "RC Elite S5 Port V16" To my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (N900W8). From what I was reading it was a ROM that "converts" your note 3 to a note 4 or s5, while still having all the Note 3 features. Another possible cause is trying to use RegionLock Away.apk by Chainfire to essentially(unlock) the phone. I feel like this is the main cause though as this affects the modem on the phone. This isn't the SIM as I tried it in another phone and works fine with calls and texts.
IMEI and serial number show the exact ones on the box. I have the latest updated firmware (stock) from Samsung Kies 3 AND Sammobile. Here is a list of pictures from an app I installed prior "Phone INFO Samsung" from the GooglePlay Store.
https://imgur.com/a/grUQt#0
I skipped "DEVICE ID" section as it is 100% legitimate IMEI and Serial Number.
My phone doesn't want to register its mobile network anymore. When I try to make a call or text it says:
http://i.imgur.com/XlIc03J.png
I was reading online for about 2-3days now for possible solutions that can cure this. Such as:
1. Going into Mobile Networks settings and manually register [failed, details below]
2. Going into Mobile Networks settings, hold home button for 2seconds and then hold power button + home button for 15seconds [failed, details below]
3. Taking out battery while the phone is on and remove the SIM card, clean it and re-insert [failed]
4. Factory Reset [Failed]
5. Wipe Storage and re-flash stock ROM [Failed]
6. Turn on airplane mode, restart and turn off [Failed]
7. Reflash stock firmware without SIM card installed [Failed]
8. Completely discharge the battery, recharge [Failed]
Options 1 & 2 do not work because when I try to access Mobile Network Settings I get this:
http://i.imgur.com/JNS9C2Q.png
The SIM card is inside the phone though...
So what I did is found a mobile network options shortcut "program" from GooglePlay Store and installed it. It allows me to access the menu, which is great! Now, when I try to register the SIM card to my correct service provider (BELL CANADA)...it will make me wait for about 1-2minutes before I get "Unable to register, try later" error...even for automatic registration. Here are some more images from my stock from status info page...
http://i.imgur.com/arM0NM6.png
http://i.imgur.com/SsvmPA1.png
If you look, you can see I have full reception on my toolbar at the top...but, when we look at the actual connections everything is unknown and/or disconnected. Even my phone number!
I tried the factory restore with a stock 4.4.2 ROM from Sammobile/Samsung Kies3 and the issue is still there.
Is there anything that anyone knows that can help me resolve this problem? I tried EVERYTHING i can possibly find on Google.
Thank you very much in advance. This is honestly the more unique problem I have ever encountered and i'm in DIRE need of my phone.
Solution!
Bother, I'm sorry to tell you this but you need to restore to the factory rom, through kies on your pc, and after that go to recovery boot and make a back up of your modem and efs, then wipe all data, system, cache, dalvik and internal SD, install rc lite, and restore model and efs!
This works for me every time this happens when trying out new roms, good luck friend!
I was trying to force 3G in my OP2 and used *#*#4636#*#* to enter testing menu.
Under that menu, I accidentally selected some other radio band and now one sim( SIM 2) is disabled(unable to find network).
I tried resetting phone to factory setting, but it didn't helped.
Also updated to latest OxygenOS 2.2.1, still one sim is disabled.
Please help....

Flash OxygenOS Zip via Stock Recovery

Before Flash Remember to Wipe All the Data
Hi,
My OnePlus 2 was running Exodus ROM, which had 2 Sim's: Vodafone (2G/3G) & other Jio (Only 4G/LTE).
I read a blog, that In order to increase the download speed from the Jio SIM, preferred LTE Band should be switched (from 3 to 40).
So, I pressed *#*#4636#*#*, >> Phone Info page >> three dot menu >> select radio band >> SELECTED Band mode 40.
Immediately after that,
Vodafone Sim stopped working in any of the SIM-Slots, But Jio sim (4G) was working in both the slots.
*****
Then I ran these commands in fastboot mode:
"fastboot erase modemst1 "
"fastboot erase modemst2 "
"fastboot erase cache"
Immediately, Both the SIM slots stopped working.
*****
Then I flashed "new-modem.zip" from benschhold (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24407100847293158)
which makes SIM-Slot-1 work with both Vodafone & Jio,
But SIM-Slot-2 only detects the sim, but with 0 network bars i.e. "No service| Vodafone"
*****
Clean flashed OOS 3.0.2 via TWRP, but SIM-Slot-2 = "No service| Vodafone".
I tried to manually search for networks,
It shows all the networks 2G & 3G in my city.
But connecting to Vodafone network from the list, always fails.
I think the latching (on to network) mechanism of SIM-slot 2, is faulty.
*****
Then clean flashed Exodus 29/8 build, but no fix.
Later, dirty flashed Exodus 31/8 build, which was supposed to flash the correct radio/modem/baseband on my OnePlus 2, but SIM-Slot-2, still doesn't let the SIM latch on to the network.
*****
Today, flashed "old-modem.zip" from benschhold, which resulted in phone stuck in boot loop.
Started OnePlus 2 Toolbox on PC, & flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 via fastboot mode.
,successfully booted in TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery.
flashed "new+modem.zip" (by benschhold).
Phone is working again, but SIM-Slot-2 = "No service| Vodafone".

Will stock reset to OOS 3.0.2 from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62973446&postcount=2
fix this SIM-Slot-2 / EFS / Modem problem ?
Also, while stock reset, can this happen without formatting the internal storage ?
As I have 35+ GB of pics/music/data, which will take a lot of time to backup !

Stock Reset to OOS 3.0.2 might fix your issue but it will completely wipe your phone so you'll need to backup anything you want to keep first.
Not sure why you wiped your EFS partitions without taking a backup first...

Thanks for replying back.
I'm downloading your fastboot.zip file (1.13 GB) right now (does the zip file also contain all steps, to flash correctly ?).
You mentioned in that post, that we can add REM command in .bat file to avoid format to data partition, can this be done with internal storage too ?
Also, I don't know what is EFS partition, & did not knew I had to back it up, before flashing custom ROM.
Anyways, can you tell, out of all the steps I did.
Which step actually made the SIM-Slot-2, to behave in this way ?
Was it, the "erase modemst1 & modemst2" in fastboot ?
Or
flashing new or old modem zip of benschhold ?
As at first step, selecting the band 40, only made the Vodafone SIM not work, but the both the SIM-slots were still working fine with Jio sim.
& Erasing modem st1 & st2, made both SIM-Slots stopped working.
& flashing new-modem.zip, actually made SIM-slot-1 work again (with both Vodafone & Jio),
Then why did this not work with SIM-Slot-2 ?
Logically, whatever made SIM-Slot-1 work, should also work for SIM-Slot-2 too (with slight modifications) ?
Will flashing a good/proper modem.zip make the sim-slot-2 work again ?
Rather than me, wiping my phone to OOS ?
What do you think ?

I don't think the fastboot zip will solve your problem as it only contains the rom and firmware. I'm not sure that even the Stock Reset to OOS 3.0.2 tool will either but it's worth a go.
Erasing modemst1 & modemst2 with fastboot is what's caused your problem but I'm not sure how to solve it.

I don't think he can fix that.
EFS has the information about the IMEI of a phone as far as I know.
No IMEI = No signal
A dual SIM phone has two IMEIs, and that probably explains why one is working after restoring one EFS...

But I did not restore any EFS,
then how come IMEI 1, is working fine, even after erase command,
I checked IMEI 2 = 0.
& I checked a lot of OnePlus One forums. (OnePlus 2 has a lot less threads)
It's mentioned many times, that erasing modemst1 modemst2, does not erase the actual IMEI info from phone. (As it's stored in some other deep partitions).
Modemst1 modemst2, are supposed to rebuild themselves, after they are erased.
Correct me, if I'm wrong.

On some devices they're rebuilt from a backup in the fsg partition but it looks like this doesn't work properly for SIM2 on the OP2.
I see you've posted this in a couple of threads in the OP forums too! Good luck - there are very few people over there that know what they're talking about so be careful before trying anything that anyone suggests.

Will appreciate your opinion on this issue,
Before I start the lengthy process of "backing up 45+GB data of my OP2, & stock reset it, by your method", in order to fix the IMEI#2=0 problem.

Hi @osr.arora,
Unfortunately I do not think the stock reset will help you with this issue (as those partitions are not at all touched by the OnePlus Stock Reset), however I would strongly suggest you to take a backup and reset the device as a starting point.
Do you have a nandroid backup of your device (all partitions)? Even if it is an old one, try restoring them.
Sorry but I am out of ideas for getting this sorted.

No, that's for the OnePlus One - you'll end up bricking your phone if you use tools built specifically for another device.

I haven't actually downloaded that software yet.
Can you recommend any other software, which allows writing IMEI !

Hi,
Could you tag the names of those few people, who have the actual know-how of technical issues.
LOL, I guess no one has solved this issue till now. Every thread regarding this issue on every site remains unanswered . I request the developers to try finding a solution to this problem. All the best ppl.
wrong radio band issue
Even I changed the band to band 40 however, I am getting the networks on both the Sim one being Jio and other being Vodafone. But the issue is I am not able to make calls from my vodafone number. There is no problem with incoming calls but out bound calls are not happening. JIO is working fine on both sim slots. Vodafone giving problem no matter if I switch the sim slots as well.
A few days I woke up with no service on the Nexus 6p. This was a few days after updating to the latest oreo build. Sim card seems detected because when I take it out another message shows up "No SIM card - No service", and when I put it back it only shows "No service". Tried putting the card in a Nexus 5X and it works fine.
Tried the following with nothing working so far:
- Switching 2G/3G/LTE and rebooting in between.
- *#*#4636#*#* and turning off the radio, switching between the different options of GSM/LTE/etc...
- Restoring a working nandroid backup
- Reflashing different ROMs
- Factory reset
- Factory reset then flashing ROMs
- Wiping cache and dalvik
- efs fix in twrp
Hardware version ANGLER-VN2
IMEI shows up under IMEI information tab but not under SIM Status tab, there it shows not available.
I live in Ontario Canada, carrier is Freedom mobile.
So now I'm stuck, tried calling google and hwawei and they won't do an RMA because my warranty is expired.
Anyone has any ideas to try?
Thanks in advance.
Not that this is going to help, but this has GOT to be an Oreo issue, myself as well as at least 4 others that I have seen has been getting the No service, or No Sim, mine did the No Sim, then started bootlooping.

No this has nothing to do with O.
Which version phone do you have? H1511 or H1512?
What country are you in now?
What is your carrier? If MVNO state that.
Are your IMEI and phone numbers showing up in settings?
Everyone, please put the most basic information in your profile like where you live, which carrier you are currently on, and maybe even which variant of your phone.
I updated the first post with more info. How do I tell if I have H1511 or H1512? I bought it from the google store in Canada.
More information is good. Please update your XDA profile so the next person trying to help can check there first. You can find the device variant by booting to bootloader (not recovery) and using the vol toggle to navigate to "Barcodes". IMEI should show up there too. Date of manufacture, Serial #, etc. I think you should have started a normal thead, not Q/A, BUT your IMEI and a lot of other information should be showing up under SIM info. That's a problem. Second, you say you did the EFS fix in TWRP. Can you explain how you did this? Did you use one of YOUR OWN TWRP backups which contained the modemst1,modemst2 and restored ONLY those two partitions to your device? Did you receive any confirmation or error? Have you tried using a SIM from a Rogers or Telus in your phone to see if the SIM info shows up?
Thanks for the help, I'll update my profile with this info as well.
in the bootloader the IMEI shows up along with the rest of the info. It's a H1511 device.
The EFS fix is by following this: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/fix-empty-imei-corrupted-efs-no-sim-unknown-baseband-wifibluetooth-issues-restoring-twrp-backup/
is modemst1 and 2 contained in the twrp backup? and if so how do I restore it? in restore options there's system, data, vendor and boot only. I guess it's an option in the backup that I haven't selected?
I tried another SIM also from freedom and it didn't work. I don't have a Rogers or other SIM to try currently.
Right, so if you didn't ever select the EFS partitions when using TWRP Backup, you never backed them up so under Restore they don't show up (so you can't use that method). You can however use TWRP terminal or fastboot to wipe those and reboot. I would be sure to try at least one SIM from either Rogers or Telus. If that doesn't work, then wipe the EFS partitions and let them rebuild (hopefully).
Definitely Oreo issue. Google messed with something and it broke data for many people. I have been troubleshooting this for the last week (Verizon, US, fully stock 6P) and finally found a thread where a Google rep acknowledged the problem and said it was high priority for a fix.
I wish you luck with that one @LucJoe. This has been happening for the past 2 years from MM, N, and now O...and XDA is full of threads (just look). So you just go ahead and wait for Google to fix it for you, LOL. - Not a new issue related to O.
Never happened to me before updating. The data issues manifest differently across different carriers but for some reason Oreo likes to play it safe and disconnect data. I have not been able to get LTE for more than a couple seconds, but will get slow unstable 3G occasionally. Google confirmed the issue here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/phone-by-google/kw3ZcXd1BVs/7HYuANdoAgAJ
A recent success using terminal from TWRP (or the OS if you are rooted). You can also use fastboot to do the same thing using the commands in the article posted in this Q/A (method 2). Good luck! See thread here.
This seems like it's a different issue described in that thread. I'm not running out of data, there's no service and no connection of at all to any network.
I did find that and try it before posting here. It did nothing to fix the problem. It did say that something was copied over '4 MB copied, at 14.3 MB/s' something like that but nothing changed.
I also have the same issue. Have tried everything including going back to stock 7.1.2 & locking the bootloader. Nothing seems to work. Interestingly, when i pull up the hidden phone diagnostic menu, it shows all cell measurement info which means that the antenna is receiving signals but the phone somehow is not registered on the network?
I can wipe those partitions with fastboot but is it safe? I have never used TWRP and my problems started after updating to Oreo. Is there a chance the official OTA could corrupt those partitions?
@LucJoe- That fix is not for you. That is for users who have no IMEI or phone number under About Phone>>SIM info. Your issue (as I understand it) is a weak and intermittent signal that keeps disconnecting LTE and sounds like a carrier or SIM issue. Why not go get a new SIM provisioned for your phone. That or pop somebody else's SIM in your phone and see if you get a different outcome.
Yes that was my first thought as well. I got a new SIM, then another one. So 3 SIMs now with the same result. I've been on the phone with so many techs from Verizon/Total Wireless and none of them have any answers. If I put the same SIMs into a Moto E4 I picked up for testing, it works fine. But the 6P immediately disconnects from LTE then bounces between 3G/1X.
My next test is to try a SIM from a different network I guess... maybe Verizon is blocking my 6P. Or maybe my LTE radio is damaged somehow.
So I did this using TWRP but wasn't sure if it actually went through or not. I did it now through adb from pc and also fastboot and it says permission denied. Any idea how to bypass that?
Hey guys,
I'am struggeling for some days with my axon7. Here is what happend:
1) I send my device for a battery replacement with open bootloader because the garanty is over and i paid it by my own - for this i made a factroy reset and cleand up all private data
2) I got back my device and played back my backup (maybe incl. efs partion backup) - the device worked fine
3) some days after that I noticed that I get no signal anymore(!) - a reboot does'nt solve the problem so I made a restore again and I restored system, data, boot , twrp, modem (Axon7G for linage 14.1 and 15.1) and later efs because I read some threads in which this was a solution for this problem -> all of this does'nt help
4) I tryed to reset all network settings and played around with the apn settings and followed some instructions in the "*#*#4636#*#*-Menu
5) I tryed to flash linage 15.1 with the right modem and bootloader -> nothing
6) I tryed to go back to stock with this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68873485&postcount=3 but everytime I install the stock system it's stop working at the last 5% and northing happens. When I turn the device of and restart in twrp the log says "unable to mount system" and the system partion is corruped so that I have to format it to fat (for example) and then format it back to eft4(?) I checked for ticked "mount system" and unticked "read only" in the mount-menu.
Now I found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089039 and I'am not sure if this could be a solution. I also checked my IMEIs and they are both correct (I compared them with my orginal box) I also have and old efs backup form the time before I chaned to linage. My baseband is lokking like " 2.0.c1.9-00095-M8996FAAAANAZM-1" form this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/build-baseband-kernel-patch-level-t3553639)
I compared the size of the efs when I do a backup now with the size form the old backup (1,5 years +) and they have the same size.
I noticed that I hang in a loading screan when I try to read out contacs from my sim card.
The sim card is working. Other sim cards also dont work in my device. When I tap on "mobile telephone operators" i sim-card settings it says "registered". when i do a manual search then its unable to register in a network. Bluetooth and wlan are working. The device is notices the sim card. I have to insert the pin and it's reading my provider.
Is there anybody who can help me?
Its an axon7G with linage 14.1
Yeah I'm having the same problem too. Not sure, I just replaced my battery but now I get no service. WIFI and bluetooth still work but the phone cannot recognize any network provider. The SIM and my number are detected but nothing about my mobile data.

You two ever thought that it could be hardware? Maybe the antenna cable got disconnected?

I triple checked everything and the antenna cable was plugged in. I also tried a spare antenna cable and it still didn't work. Might have been something wrong with the mother or daughter board
Yes. I send it back to the store ans they changed the board for free. So it was a hardware failure i think.
